  1. You're supposed to know baseball. He's faced guys on base plenty of times probably wearing the same spikes he always has. This started once he started trying to mix the slider back into his repertoire. It's a slide step issue. That's on his left leg not picking it up enough to get extension. Which knee was giving him trouble last year ? Left or right ? Both ?
  2. It's not the spikes it a bad slide step yip trying to keep the runner from stealing.
  3. WTH is Kopech doing that on purpose. I realize with men on base u want to use the slide step but 3 times he balked now by catching his spike. Someone tell him to lift his damn foot a little higher on the slide step.
  4. A tipped ball if not caught is like any other foul ball so can't steal. If you catch the tipped ball it's treated as a swing and miss for the base runner. Since the catcher caught it he could have thrown out Robert on the steal attempt. But he lost the ball on the transfer . Maybe you asked rhetorically.
  5. Bochy ejected on Robert stolen base on foul tip. Bochy was wrong. Heim caught the ball and dropped it on the transfer to make the throw.
  6. Apparently he'll get more so probably not a great idea to fret. Fedde impressing as usual.
  7. Nice knock by Baldwin . Sox have more than 1 run ! 1st RBI and SB of Baldwin's career.
  8. Nice moment in the dugout after Baldwin got aced on a 3-2 pitch on the low inside corner with man on 3rd and 1 out. Vaughn had his arm around him talking to him probably about needing to protect in that situation. But that was a tip your cap pitch by Lorenzen .
  9. Apparently u beat me to it. I was constructing it when Pham hit his bomb.
  10. 1st game thread I've started in a while . Pham HR 1-0 Top 1
  11. I'd be interested in knowing which 5 guys and what is Crochet doing what they have done and for how long did they do whatever they did compared to Crochet. You get me ? I'm skeptical unless you put it to the test and see wtf you're talking about respectfully.
  12. His fielding at a premium position ,speed , walk rate, base running ,power and years of control are all positives which is why he had 4 WAR last year. Doesn't have pedigree but has a history of making adjustments to improve. Has he reached the peak of what he can do and the league adjusted, sophomore slump , can he re adjust ? Sox real low on CF choices and good OF defense ,LH power and speed if Robert goes. Everyone's always been pretty quick to write him off because of age and lack of pedigree. But he's obviously worked very hard to become better and is very athletic. He's better than Colas. Once Sox coaches got a hold on Colas he lost all his power .
  13. Yep you get 1 medical miracle so far why think you're going to keep getting it over and over. I love what he has overcome to reach the level he's at now but sell high for once with 3.5 months of being great. It's going to come down to the wire. If you got offers pit teams against one another. You say I have better offers , you have to do better because your competitive values him and a World Series win more than do.
  14. Do you think Himes was fired because he was one guy willing to disagree vehemently with JR ? JR should've been declared mentally unfit once he hired LaRussa.
  15. What exactly are you expecting ? Seems like teams are just following Baltimore's (Valdemort's ?) clinging to and overvaluing position player prospects because they know the weak franchises like the Sox are desperate and impoverished and only willing to throw them scraps like a pawn shop paying $50 for a Rolex from a crack head .
  16. If you think it's a s%*# show around here now if imagine if the Sox did what you just said. Posters once again have their hopes too high for the trades. The other GMs know that Reinsdorf has lost his mind. The only reason he hasn't been declared mentally incompetent is that he still is in a position of power. People here still make fun of getting Steven Wilson as part of the trade for Cease . Imagine if the Sox got a bunch of guys like Outman and Lux . One guy who could be a 1 year wonder but with loud tools and 27 years old and another guy always injured who never reached his potential and can't field but is better than dumpster diving maybe. Getz is in a no win situation. Fans are expecting big things to happen out of nowhere . Whatever Getz does he's really just a better paid lackey now. He has no real power to make sweeping franchise altering changes. His job is to preserve the status quo and take the heat. The sadder and angrier Sox fans get the more desperate they become for miracle trades. This franchise is doomed for the foreseeable future.
  17. Why wouldn't it involve a top tier prospect ? He's a very good cheap starting pitcher with an extra year of control .
  18. I was actually wondering if you could do a draft pick as a PTBNL if the later is after the World Series.
  19. I thought we already know Larson took $1.4M when slot was $1.2M. Edit: According to Locked on White Sox Larson told the Des Moines Register that he knows he'll get AT LEAST $1.4 so it could be more.
  20. Depending on how creative you want to get you could include Robert, Jr. , Fedde and / or some relievers and make a super trade that neither fan base would be happy with. Names to consider to improve roster for next year and bring more talent in for the future. Dodgers have pieces that you could buy low on who are probably better than any of our AAA guys like Bobby Miller or Outman. Sox don't have many bonafide CF candidates. Dustin May keeps having medical setbacks. Just throwing names out there . I know everyone will want their best and brightest minor leaguers but there's so little talent in AAA and the majors ( on the Sox ) that if you can get injured or slumping guys with a lot of talent and plenty of years left at a discount maybe you can have a pretty good starting pitching staff next year and speed and defense in CF. I know super trades don't really happen but if your threw Colas in there with Crochet,Robert Jr and Kopech Would it be terrible to get back Pages, DePaula, Rushing, Lux ,Miller, May, Outman and more ? Just playing armchair GM .I don't really expect anyone to think getting hurt or slumping guys is a great idea. The Dodgers have plenty of talent but a lot of it isn't exactly at its peak right now. They're kind of like the Sox of the recent past in that major injuries are crippling them. But they won't sit on their asses and do nothing . There's a lot of smoke around a Sox Dodgers trade now. Lots of ways this can go depending on how long the Sox FO wants to get them to a competitive level when all their best players on an all-time terrible team will be gone soon . They could be even worse next year. .
