  1. Doogie Houser RSP !!! Gonna have to hear the post game show.
  2. Winner winner !! Time for spaghetti and chicken dinner !!
  3. Well located cutter/sinker is what Vargas throws . Looks like death against RHH after he gets ahead at 97/98
  4. 🤣 You were not being cryptic but you didn't make any point either. I asked you to make a point and you said Houser is old and bad . So your point now has switched to what Lip said. How convenient for you that he figured it out for you.
  5. There are also a lot of fans hoping for a new GM .Is that any different ? If you think Getz is the Adrian Houser of GMs and the solution is up to the same guy who hired Getz why keep hoping he's fired ?
  6. Well duh. I gave you a chance to clarify you position but all you said was Houser is old and bad. Now you need Lip to help you be more coherent ? Maybe your point wasn't even obvious to you. So youre saying circumstances beyond any GMs control ( i.e. injuries) necessitate picking up less than desirable options to try not to suck as much.
  7. While you were responding to my post I was editing it to talk more about Vaughn and I brought up the same things you just said about him .
  8. IDK if his plane was so bad why is he hitting the ball hard or harder than the results might indicate ? Vargas gained weight to try to impact the ball harder, hit it farther, but it didn't work . He always had a good eye and swung at pitches he should be swinging at big he was still making poor contact. Now that they fixed his bat path by finding a hole in his swing that pitchers kept exploiting. That's bat path or plane related isn't it ? Small changes can produce better results is the point I guess. Have to do things that mix up where your weaknesses are since as a hitter you will always be vulnerable to something's. Vargas has changed his vulnerabilities while improving his hard hit rate to be more of the hitter he was against non MLB pitching. It's a cat and mouse game now ,each side trying not to be the mouse. Vaughn never had the eye against MLB pitching He's fooled too easily. Sox are believing he can be unlocked but no results for a long time. They're trying to be a forward looking biomechanics type organization but they lack the experience. Getz shouldn't be talking about making decisions about who is and isn't worth planning the future around if you truly believe you can help any player become a better version of themselves. But Vaughn's had 4 years to figure out how to hit. And he isn't going to become a better athlete to be a better fielder.
  9. Not much of a point. Of course he is thats why he's available. Thank you CPT. Obvious. Looked like you were making some kind of point about the pitching depth since that's what you wrote .
  10. By limiting the spending JR is eliminating that $10M per year player that has only a slightly better chance of being productive than the $3M player. Mid-level spending often results in poor production if you're signing once productive players who are aging out. JD Martinez would've have likely been in that category but no one signed him. I'm trying to figure out if people here would be happier if JR allowed Getz to spent $50M more on players this year when it might mean only 10 more wins in a year when you want the best shot at the 1st draft pick. Apparently there's not enough money to spend on infrastructure and players. Isn't that the way it's always been with JR ? The only reason why he'd once in a while spend more is because it went to player payroll while infrastructure/ player development, scouting etc. lost out.
  11. Are you making a point or waiting until the consensus of the majority weighs in before you choose a side ?
  12. If hard hit percent meant as much as they say the Sox might be the 19th best offense in MLB. You'd think if you were always hitting it hard at people you'd move an inch closer to the plate.an inch farther away , change your feet around a bit , open stance a little, close it a little, feet wider apart or closer together. Defenses have you pegged You have to be willing to adapt your stance in different situations depending on the type of pitcher you're facing. Didn't a decent amount of hitters used to do that with small things like moving their hands on the bat, moving up and down in the box. Don't have a lot of hitters adapting depending on the pitcher while pitcherd always adapt to individual hitters strengths and weaknesses. Don't know how well those things ever got covered by the press. Anyone know of any players in particular who were known for that. Pete Rose maybe ? Tony Gwynn, Wade Boggs , Rod Carew ?Mightve been more common with players who were more contact oriented. Isn't that what the Sox are preaching ?
  13. Me too, thought it had a little more loft / lift /la
  14. Taylor predictable K against that pitcher. Mariners best road record in baseball.
  15. So the 2 HRs in a week not withstanding.. you do know Elko hit one 101 too and hasn't K'd ?
  16. Williamson 2 hits with a combined exit velocity of about 85.
  17. Who has been this game ? Some hard hits balls weren't finding open fields .
  18. I posted thought the starting pitching had a chance to be a strength when a lot of people were worried that losing Crochet and Fedde was a sure "they will be worse than last year" verdict.
