  1. This Heyward kid is a nice story. One of his high school team mates died an he promised his mom if he ever made it to the bigs he would wear his number and true to his promise he did just that.
  2. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 06:38 PM) Ah but don't you have to have definite control of the ball? I mean the runner is safe if the ball is bobbled, right? How can the infielder be in control if he doesn't even realize that he has the ball? Hmmm... Where's Buck Showalter when you need him? That did cross my mind but I made the call and I'm sticking to it.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 06:37 PM) Well, those of you that wanted to see Dayan.....he may get some time today. I'm waiting for another Lillibridge three run shot, myself. That and some Randy Williams. Dayan can DH unless Ozzie wants to make him the defensive replacement for Vizquel tonight.
  4. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 06:32 PM) Okay silly question: So let's say there was a force put possible. Is the runner out if the infielder steps on the base while the ball is lost in his shirt? Thats a good question to which i have no definitive answer but I'll guess yea it would be an out since he's in possession of the ball.
  5. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) I loled. Q's playoff beard.
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 06:28 PM) Is Quentin close to back? Let's hope so. Breaks the string of 8 games without a homer. Kotsay stops wisely at 2B. Never make the 3rd out at 3rd base.
  7. Most of the Braves success has come at home . They're 3 under on the road.
  8. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 06:13 PM) Mets up 4-0, after a rain delay in the bottom third, Verlander out of the game, pitcher Sborz on the mound. Mets are hot in interleague play as are the Sox and the Braves.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 06:10 PM) Well, it's good to see Gordon hit the ball hard to the right side. Nyger Morgan ran one of his shots down the other day just a little less shallow than the one Dayan hit.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 06:01 PM) He misplayed it. His first steps were in and he busted it back to make the catch. The line drives straight at you are the hardest to judge.
  11. Shack I applaud your attitude in here. Nice crooked number inning !
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 02:15 PM) However, when you're calling up a 21 year old, you also take into account his ability to improve on those numbers with time and the necessity of getting him those at bats to give him the chance to do so. See my posts #64 and 65 above ?
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) Yep, nowhere in this thread did I mention that walking Dunn in the 9th was a ballsy, but very smart move by Ozzie. I said few not none . I saw your post.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) Rhubarb Wilcox? Hey be careful I'll go all Gregg on you and call you Squert.
  15. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 01:56 PM) Thanks.... while his numbers against RHP look terrible compared to those ridiculous LHP numbers, his OPS against righties beats Kotsay's .706 OPS vs RHP Well not really since you have to consider DV was facing minor leaguers and Kotsay major leaguers.
