  1. This is aimed at Coolmanjoe. If the Sox do get Dunn you know Viceido will be part of the deal. That's why he's up here, to show he's ML ready . He can then replace Dunn at 1st for the Nats .
  2. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 02:26 PM) I don't care how much he costs, I'd be willing to give up my left nut for a 3-4-5-6 of Rios, PK, Prince, and Quentin (if Quentin keeps hitting like he has a pair). Are the Brewers looking for a left nut ?
  3. Thank you pitching staff for the great run. Thanks for the 2 out hitting and hitting with RISP. Thank you defense for being way above average. Thank you luck for being on our side for so long. And finally thanks for the 9th inning rally today to make things interesting even though many of the things that kept the streak going ended today. Please put an e in "deserve's " Mr. Mods.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 02:21 PM) My prediction is that in two weeks, we're going to be counting down to when Teahen returns. Maybe so if Omar stops hitting but at least his fielding is solid.
  5. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 10:44 AM) He's 43 and he plays baseball. We're not asking him to play rugby. Just think of all the guys out there wearing hardhats in the heat welding iron and working as laborers. I think Omar can handle catching a ball and swinging a bat 4 times a game. He's a special kind of player, and always has been. I think he can continue to compete at a reasonably competent level (especially defensively) on an every-day basis for the remainder of the year if we called upon him to do so. I'll give you that. In the summer I'm completely exhausted every day and have to go back out there and do it the next day . I do however get 2 days off per week and I'm way older than Omar. And I'm constantly on the move for 8 hrs. Omar can sit on the bench or might go several innings with no action at his position or no baserunning.
  6. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 02:06 PM) Amazing that he'd expand the zone like that when the f***ing guy couldn't get the ball over the plate. You almost NEVER see that. Even the Cubs announcers called that pitch a gift. I wonder what Hawk was saying .
  7. That 2-0 call really did change that AB. Sucks if you have to swing at a pitch like that against Marmol. Might have pulled off the comeback if not for that.
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) Dempster is the worst match-up of all the Cubs starters for our hitters, due to our lack of quality lefty hitters. AJ and Kotsay were muy malo today.
  9. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 12:59 PM) HE GAWN! You seem way too happy the Sox are losing . Is it better to be right for you then be wrong if the Sox can come back and win ?
  10. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 12:44 PM) Game thread posters? Closer to 90%. I was being kind. Besides 50% + covers 90%.
  11. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 12:40 PM) Those are the types that should not be allowed to root for anything. 3 weeks ago 50%+ of the game thread posters would have said the same thing.
  12. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 12:36 PM) Ballgame, danks sucks today 1st to jump ship award.
  13. QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 07:14 PM) i just don't see anyone trading for Z, when the outright him, his relationship with ozzie will have him on the south side. Hey he can be the LH bat we're searching for !
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 06:44 AM) Trib reporting today that he isn't expected to be able to get the pins out of his finger until the ASB, then he would begin his rehab after that point. Just makes me want to see Viciedo play more at DH and give Vizquel some rest too. Come on Ozzie Kotsay isn't all that !
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 08:36 AM) Kenny next year needs to do a better job Ozzie-proofing the lineup. Giving him an Erstad-type play like Kotsay has been terrible. Kotsay is fine off the bench, and to play once in a while. Ozzie in his usual fashion overuses a role player making him a starter for all intensive purposes. The writing was on the wall with this with the comments Ozzie made when they resigned him. Timo/Erstad/DWise, all you need to do is to be a certain slappy grindy not so good left handed hitter and you make it into the lineup way too many times. http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/intensive.html
  16. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 07:36 AM) You missed the joke. Apparently so, but Dustin Byfuglien was there too also in a Sox cap albeit a strange gray and powder blue one. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/wh...allery?index=17
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 07:18 AM) Hey Look! It is Rick Nash! And Ron Howard who threw out the 1st pitch. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...-the-focus.html
