It's amazing sometimes what a bunt will do.

Good throw DWISE (but I think he was safe ) !

Alexei you're forgiven for getting picked off . Yesss !

BA's single na na hey hey's Cueto.

AJ with the bomb 5-5 now and thanks Alexei for getting picked off or whoever wanted him to steal.

WTf the Sox are smackin the crap outta Cueto and Alexei gets picked off?

Ladies and gentlemen the new and improved Scott Podsednik !

Beckham hits his 1st career HR and I see more comments about Wise sucking, now thats sad .

1st HR by Beckham ! 3 run bomb gets the Sox closer !.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 20, 2009 -> 09:57 AM) You want to give up Jenks, Contreras, and Fields for a 2-3 years younger version of Fields? Gamel's lefty and has a Player of the Year award on his minor league resume recently. Jenks, Contreras, and Fields might not be enough to get him. Old pitcher, high salary , Fields worth nothing, Jenks is the only valuable piece. Now if we paid part of JC's salary it might be worth it for the Brew Crew but I doubt it.

Gamel's gotta be on their on untouchables list. Though if you make a completely lopsided offer they might be forced to listen. Dye, Konerko, Contreras, any bullpen arm besides Poreda and pay part of their salaries too. Not suggesting that as the trade just who should be available off the top of my head.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 07:02 PM) I think it's more mental with him, and that he has to convince himself he can turn on an inside fastball. So now your a psychoanalyst too ? He was looking 1st pitch fastball, he got 1st pitch fastball . He turned on 1st pitch fastball. His head is fine, his bat is fine. His thumb maybe not so fine. 1st Reds victory over the Sox in 10 games.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 06:58 PM) Arroyo is the worst of the three starters we're gonna face. We're SCREWED. Doesn't mean much. Every game's a new beginning. Who's to say the other starters will have their stuff or we wont get good starting pitching. It's not like the Reds are a good hitting team.

Bummer.

Come on Bacon !

Another bogus call by the HP ump.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 06:47 PM) so basically trade him now, that his value is at his highest? That what KW tried in the Peavy non-trade. Poreda's future like all prospects is suspect. But I'd keep him. Good young (cheap)pitching is hard to find. KW wanted pitching in return which was why he was expendable.

Sox infielders taking their sweet time getting rid of the ball. Alexei on that one and Getz on the DP. Decent job by Poreda.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) What's sickening is that Ozzie is making Dusty look like a real good manager tonight. Played right into the Reds plans by having two straight lefties for Rhodes to face. Yea Baker has match up cards and knew the Sox would PH Thome . So Ozzie played right into Baker's hand. If you announce Wise as the PH see if Baker changes pitchers and if he does you waste Wise , no big deal and have Nix face the lefty then. If he keeps Arroyo in then you have the matchup with Wise against Arroyo.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 06:20 PM) Nix just hasn't had many AB's recently. Not sure we can look at him very confidently coming off the bench at this point in the season...and everyone knows Fields' weaknesses. If you're on the 25 and not a starter that's your job wether you've had Ab's lately or not as I'm sure you're aware.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 06:16 PM) Should have used someone else here and saved Thome for their righty closer. PH Wise and when/if Rhodes brought in then Nix.

Thome 2 for 21 against Rhodes with 12 K's lifetime.

Thome PH for JC. Arroyo coming out Rhodes in.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 19, 2009 -> 06:09 PM) Ok maybe Getz steals and Beckham drives him in. Got half of it right .

Ok maybe Getz steals and Beckham drives him in.
