  1. Dodgers knew that If they didn't give in they would probably have another shot at getting him in the off season since the Sox aren't likely to extend him . That way they could then say Ok Crochet lasted the whole season( if he does) and we now think he is capable of pitching a whole sesson and into the playoffs so we'll give you Rushing now. It'll be up to Getz to say ok so now you think he's more valuable than he was so we want more for him. Dodgers turn around and say he is less valuable because we're getting him for less time unless we extend him. But the counter to that you get the chance to extend him is now also more valuable for your use beyond just his current contract which by the way he is still super cheap.
  2. If you're going to showcase someone you do want to let the other team know he was still a capable, if not great, OFer .In case of injury the cards know they could use him in the OF.
  3. There are also reports that the Dodgers wouldn't part with Dalton Rushing for Crochet.
  4. Pham had 2 more hits. ILoy K'd in his 1st AB with Baltimore. Pham has already produced more for them than Edman did all year ( which was nothing ). The pitcher Baltimore traded for instead of Fedde ,Trevor Rogers got lit up by the Guardians.
  5. Meanwhile Pham started off his 1st 2 games with the Cards 4-5 with a grannie and Kopech pitched 6th inning 2Ks in a lose to the Padres. Fedde should get a start soon too
  6. I said probably the whole buyout to get the prospect so I was close. $1M off.
  7. You haven't missed much so far .0 -8 also had a ball he appeared to take a bad route on clank off his glove. Wasn't called an error after a long run into the gap but I think Julks would've caught it.
  8. Better than Benitendi and Vargas in LF which isn't saying much.He did rob a HR in his first fews games with the Sox. He's got an above average arm too.
  9. West Burg got hurt after acquiring ILoy DFA ILoy now. He brought the curse to your team . Then again Holliday hit a grannie so temporary reprieve.
  10. Probably not meant for the game thread ?
  11. And even then it's not really good for the Sox. There's no way to tell if it went toward next years player payroll .
  12. Close to my opinion but leaning C- to D. Maybe I overvalued Fedde or Getz thought way too highly of Vargas AAA stats and ignored his fielding. Kopech still throws 100 and had an extra year so we differ in that it seems light for 3 MLB players teams actually wanted 2 of them with the extra year and current Top 20ish pitcher in baseball. St. Louis put Pham in their lineup right away and got rewarded with a Granny. So I think they were a strong prospect short especially since Edman didn't play at all this year. I did expect very few Top 100 guys to be traded which I spoke of in some of the future Sox draft threads. Maybe pitchers, catchers and 1st basemen would be out there, so I thought we might get a top C/1st baseman if Getz was offered any he liked among the suitors. I also didn't like the reports that said he preferred not to trade in division although ultimately maybe they didn't offer the right kind of players. Eloy sure great trade for JR but at least he got a player back . But I'm at the point that I view these trades as nothing more than bottom line trades and as such were not designed to be impactful to improving the team very much but to help JR prepare the team to be sold.
  13. I doubt from the fans abandoning the Sox that donations won't even come close to generating the revenue that ads do.
  14. @Bob Sacamano said the same thing I just said in his answer to your post and you gave him a thank you emoji. How is what he said any different than what I said ? And I did get the story straight . I acknowledged that when I started one sentence with "Sure that hurt.." I guess he didn't call you peanut butter ?? Maybe I need longer posts explaining step by step because you seem to interpret everything I say wrong or flat out falsely misrepresent it purposefully.
  15. 29 other teams besides the Sox have a Top 10 prospects list . 29 x 10 equals 290 - 95 or so in the top 100 (Sox prospects in the Top 100 dont count. That leaves around 195 that won't be in the top 100. There are various top 100 lists so maybe you can include more players but the math is the same no matter what list you use.
  16. Somewhat surprising there want even one but not really. Thought there might be a pitcher. I think Lesko was a top 100 guy (#76) but sliding downward. Maybe he wasn't on BA Top 100 though. Figured if there were any traded it would be pitcher, catcher or 1st basemen. There aren't that many teams who have the confidence like Tampa Bay in their scouting and development to take prospects outside the top 100 or Lesko who was having huge problems throwing strikes.
  17. Sometimes you are denser than peanut butter. I outlined why way before that happened why he was least likely to be traded than Robert. Sure that hurt but there were reports he wanted an extension from the Sox already out there. Wanting one from a team he'd be traded to with no guarantee they'd treat him like the Sox did was him protecting himself from being exploited. There wasn't going to be many serious suitors for him regardless because they already knew he'd be unlikely to pitch in the off-season and he didn't want to pitch in relief. Pretty simple. Don't blame me that you couldn't follow that train of thought.
  18. I was torn .I had a feeling it was going to be Smith when I saw who was available knowing he was a very good LH pitcher which seems to be their forte. Cags was a fun idea as a pick. Big bat big personality , initially ranked higher than Smith but that doesn't mean too much right now.
  19. From who and for what ? I told you 3 weeks ago neither Robert or Crochet were being moved by the deadline.
  20. It makes all the sense in the world to me. He was hired to do exactly what he's doing. Getz the Pet. There's only one reason for JR to fire Getz and that's to shift focus away from him and make Getz the fall guy by pretending he still gives a damn about winning. But JR is usually more loyal to his Pets. He's all probably let him Stay Getzy boy stay ! Good Getzy !
  21. If we ever get the full details I'm guessing the whole buyout to get the prospect.
  22. Yes it would which is why I don't believe it. Unless of course JR is eyeing Benintendi and Roberts remaining contract obligation as obstacles. We shall see if JR lengthens or shortens his leash on Getz the Pet. I suspect JR to do just enough to avoid getting on Manfred's radar so something similar to this year, maybe 1 or 2 better contracts than Fedde got this year. Nothing longer than 2 years.
  23. Oh you poor diluted soul. You actually are pretending Jerry cares .That's adorable. In a twisted way it makes me thinkk JR is ill and the countdown has begun to The big sell. US Sellular Field.
