  1. LOl aint' that bad. . This is normal. It's not even the new normal , it's 100+ years of normal
  2. Just let it all roll off your back. Half the time in game thread a pitcher pitching well you'd think he's giving up a run an inning.
  3. As long as it's going to be a low scoring game I like the Sox chances. That's the only time they are good.
  4. Plate appearance qualifier for more more money next year ?
  5. Thank heavens we have you and other's to keep reminding us in case we forgot and stupidly keep wanting to win.
  6. They basically traded for a guy who the Sox were only carrying to try to trade. Otherwise without options he's have to be DFA'd. I think in that case Reese could elect free agency
  7. Nothing trade, around the fringes 35 yrs old . LH, good K rate, but watch out for those walks.
  8. Wait where's Fathom with a joke about McGuire going for a guy named Diekman.
  9. And yet many times players do improve at his age in his prime. Players are not always what they were. You can find negatives in a lot of players when you look for them. Simplest thing in the world to do is say you don't like this or that guy. Someone on here called Martin Perez a bum because of his career prior to this year, a guy with a 2.59 ERA and 3.07 FIP a bum ! Chris Drury, nothing career till this year, bam he's playing lights out. Happ changed his whole style into making more contact and getting on base and its worked fro him. Not as many HR's but already a career high in doubles. Sox could use a lot more doubles. Very competent from both sides of the plate. If Moncada could switch hit as well with Happs numbers and stay on the field like Happ we'd be thrilled. Hey it's cool lets keep playing DH's in the OF with Adam Engel and Leury Garcia and Hahns legedary pickup from the Kimbrel disaster Pollock. I'm sure you would've found plenty wrong with Adam Duvall, Jorge Soloer, Eddie Rosario and Joc Pederson too when the Braves got them last year.
  10. It's one month out of a season. There is always variance . He and Willson Contreras also crushed it in June. Contreras was really bad in July compared to Happ. If you worry about month to month variance in stats you'd never make trades.
  11. Doubtful. Trades are all discussed internally and decided by a group. Hahn may be the one doing the negotiating but it's all planned oout ahead of time and multiple calls being made and I'll get back to you on that stuff.
  12. The leverage is other teams want him . Nothing much probably ends up being given up for him but it will be probably higher than you think.
  13. I think Vera will always be in the discussion and Mena too. The Sox just don't have any pitching to offer other then those 2 and Davis Martin on the prospect horizon plus they just drafted a lot of pitchers. When the farm is barren and you still want to make trades all but Colas and Monty should be discussed.
  14. I did mention Stowers in another post on Santander and they do also have a nice group of on the horizon Of'er as you mentioned.
  15. 2nd half rebounds from Eloy, Moncada, Pollock ,and Grandal. Add a few LH pieces on the pitching staff and in the lineup among others, Santander, Wendle, Happ, Gallo, Colas, Matt Moore, Quintana, Martin Perez, Andrew Chafin, Joe Mantiply, Gregory Soto, Steven Okert. Lynn gets better the more he pitches.
  16. Another big slugger for RF is the SH Anthony Santander who crushes RHP , 158 wRC+. He doesn't fit the Orioles style because he's a hack in RF though he does have a nice arm. He does lead the Orioles in just about every offensive category but they have a guy waiting in the wings to take over RF. Santander isn't a FA til 2025 . I've been mentioning him for about a year. If you are going to run Gavin Sheets out there every day, Santander is a big upgrade. Orioles probably would ask a lot because of the fine year he is having but ultimately they probably want to dump him because of his defense. Only 1.3 fWar despite some good offensive numbers. He does play the OF though nearly every day. (11 games as DH) so right now he is still worth more to other teams as an OF than he will be to the Orioles as a future DH.
