  1. I definitely have to agree with this. I got in a lot of heated arguments about Vaughn playing the OF. I didn't like it because I didn't think he was suited for it because of his lack of speed. So many said and now still say he's above average in LF which may be true and wanted Eloy moved to DH and Vaughn in LF. Now all of a sudden he gets hurt playing the OF and there is all this outrage about it. He would be diving for balls if he plays RF or LF like any other OF does. All anyone cared about was getting Vaughn in the lineup every day last year and this year. Only when he started playing RF last year did some people start to speak up about his defense. Yes RF is a harder position to play but being unable to get to balls faster OFers could get to has the same built in problems in LF as well. If anyone was fine with Vaughn in LF how is him in RF any different ? Any OFer is going to dive to make plays no matter where you play. The faster ones make the routine and somewhat difficult catches more often than Vaughn would but they also can get to and dive for balls that Vaughn wouldn't (Buxton for example ) and would just stay upright and chase down and pick up. The crux of the matter is better defense, not that Vaughn got injured diving because he's a 1st baseman playing the OF.

  3. You don't want to start burning through his options though especially if he isn't ready to hit. They could keep Adolfo who is not a CF but he can play RF very competently and his arm is just as good as Cespedes. They both would K a bunch but if the Sox dont 26/28 man roster Adolfo he's gone . He's out of options.
  4. No that's for ghosts. For demons they have to be exorcised or killed with the Demon Blade or an Angel could smite them.
  5. Based on my 15 years of watching Supernatural I think demons would have to possess the individual players.
  6. I mentioned hip pointer in the game thread. Now you made me feel smarter.
  7. Damn and I was stoked thinking Industrial Light and Magic could be hired.
  8. Probably because he played a lot of OF last year and didn't get injured. I'm not saying he belongs in RF . I always was wary that his speed wasn't suitable for LF let alone the harder to play RF but he did OK in LF. He has a way to go to catch up to Eloy type injuries in the OF . Buxton always gets hurt and he' one of the best athletes out there. SHit happens. Some see it as a result of playing out of position but plenty of guys get injured playing the positions they are best at.
  9. I guess it's better than putting Cespedes on the 40 but he has looked a lot more impressive than some of the reports we have seen. He's a pretty good OF and has a great arm. We've also seen his power a few times.
  10. Other 40 changes we might see. Seby, Rutherford, Mercedes, Kimbrel could all be gone. Collins could be traded. Ciuffo the backup catcher. Once Kimbrel is gone other pieces could get moved for Manaea among them Burger, Adolfo, Romy Gonzalez, Aybar ,Bilous,Foster, Burr,Severino or Bennett. Cespedes could be added to the 40 or traded. But I think they keep Cespedes.
  11. It's hard for many guys to tone it down or go half speed. No one wants to make their pitcher look bad because they half assed a play.
  12. Adolfo is likely gone before the season starts but there is a slight chance he stays in the event that Vaughn is out for longer than a few weeks. Micker is on the 40 but I have a sneaking suspicion that the 40 has 3 or 4 changes before the season starts.
  13. Just saying Ciuffo is supposed to good defensively. That was always a part of his scouting report. His bat never developed but he got in some MLB games with TB and Baltimore. When you are trying to hold a lead in the late innings a catcher who can frame and block pitches is just as handy as putting in a defensive OF especially with our ground ball artists in the pen.
  14. Nick Ciuffo as the backup catcher might be the plan if Collins is used in a trade. I know Ciuffo isn't anything special but he's light years better defensively than Collins. He was always graded highly defensively when he was in the Rays system. He bats left handed and throws right. He caught part of the game today and looked good catching a few different guys Crick, Sousa ,Ruiz, and Bummer.
  15. Or we continue to value another good starter in the rotation more. Gotta give to get.
  16. They won't ever be on the same team.
  17. Maybe he knows it's spring training and no sense getting injured busting your ass down the line
  18. Nice to see Eddy Alvarez again. His sister Nicole is a long time DJ for KROQ FM in Los ANgeles for a while now.
  19. Medical report of Vaughn will officially be a bruised hip to Boras Listed as day to day.
  20. Pressing their luck with Keuchel but hey, why not, gotta get him ready.
  21. Nah he didn't look wobbly . Banged his hip on the ground and he was keeping his hand on it.
  22. Easy. No one is yet willing to pay their asking prices.
