Happy with a 3 run HR when we rarely see 2 runs driven home on 1 swing. I love Carlos Rodon. BP was pretty good . Tepera a bit snake bit. Bogus triple.

This is kind of cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I don't even know what it actually means it's so vague. How many years is "recent years" and who are "most people" who are doing the discussing and are the top 2 AL teams being "discussed" the teams with the 2 best records ? And finally was there some kind of fact check involved of the AL pennant winning teams that showed they were discussed the most as a top 2 team by most people in recent years ?

5 innings is about all we can reasonably expect so the BP is going at least 4 regardless.

Not unless the Sox get equal or more runs off Montas in the same amount of innings.

We'll see just how bad of a funk Oakland is in right now. It's funky Keuchel vs. funky A's. The least funky will triumph. Also the Sox need to kick Montas' ass and avoid flying projectiles.

That's one way to look at it. However compared to what he's making this year , he has already made himself much more for the coming couple years unless he ends up getting surgery again. The smart money was always on him not holding up this season due to lack of innings pitched the last 2 years. He's saved his career as a starter.

Cesar an oppo single driving in 2 in the 5th also with 2 hits on the night. > Robert being Robert : He's done a nice job leading off in place of TA . He went 2 for 6 and made a nice running catch on a ball over his head. He also over ran a single that allowed a run to score. > Grandal : He was 1 for 3 with a walk that drove in a run. sore knee got hit in the dugout with a foul ball , probably stiffened up, he's day to day so might not be in the lineup tomorrow. Happened early in the game and he stayed in but they took him out after he scored.

The best I can tell you is you are a bit early in your assessment. Let's wait to see how everybody does and once they are off the IL and LaRussa starts playing the full lineup everyday. Don't know when that will be but hopefully in the last 10 games or so and they can get through that without injury. Anything you are seeing now usually has 3 or 4 subs in the lineup.

It matters, at least in my mind. The road has been troublesome and with the full healthy squad, I expect it to get better. Now I don't know when exactly Lynn and Gio or Tim will come back or if Rodon will ever be at the effectiveness level he was earlier so there are concerns. But, like you, I guess I just expect the BP to do better once the playoffs start but you'd like to see some strong signs of it before the playoffs , too.

I want them to play good enough baseball to finish close to 30 games above .500 and look for them to play better on the road and play more regulars the last 2 weeks or so. Can't go into the playoffs playing poorly.

LOL well the board is split as usual. The game threads are full of worry and grief about the team . Some of us, although we have the same concerns, know with a big lead that Cleveland isn't a concern. Robert and Eloy can carry a team as can Grandal and Abreu and that the health of the team and keeping the whole roster involved means more than winning every single game. Game threads are getting shorter with the arrival of football and those among us who choose to stay away from the toxicity and just watch the Sox in peace.

Don't Cease , get get , get it ! Let's F'ing Go ! Kick some Royal ass ! Every Robert AB now is a must see.

That's good to see. The Sox have a nice couple of catchers on Birmingham with him and Xavier Fernandez who they picked up from the Royals system in 2019. Fernandez has some really good hitting stats and is 26. I would imagine Perez is much better with the glove since he is getting the majority of the time at C.

There we go . Greg is the only sane person here. Celebrate the win and the players who made it possible ! Grandal only has 9 more PA's than Yermin Mercedes. That under .200 B.A. is a memory and he is now at .227. If he had played the whole season he might be up there with Salvy Perez in HR's. That .947 OPS isn't too shabby either. Robert looks so balanced and locked in. He has less than 200 PA's and the HR's are now coming. What a force he will be offensively and defensively if he stays healthy ! Abreu called Eloy and Robert " his sons" recently and even though he was speaking figuratively, the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

This game thread was a shit show. Keuchel sucked so 1/2 the thread is bitching about him. Armchair shrinks and pitching coaches at their finest and even a crystal ball prediction on how the Sox 5th spot in the rotation will now suck for the next 2 years. Sheeeeesh.

Buckingham Nicks had nothing catchy on it and was a commercial failure but you sure could hear the early makings of the revamped Fleetwood Mac on it. I kinda went on a record and CD buying binge recently.

The rain delay gave me a chance to listen to an old album I picked up, Buckingham Nicks. It was a precursor to what was to become Fleetwood Mac ,the hit machine of the mid to late 70's.

Nothing to b**** about. Praise doesn't flow as much as venom. Just remember when dealing with family and friends that it should be the opposite . Be kind, forgiving , joyful and patient.
