  1. I just threw some names out there for someone impactful like Kimbrel , not necessarily Kimbrel. I didn't analyze anything. It's hard for a layman to figure it out when there's a lot going on in Kimbrel's contract: Contract Notes: 2022 Vesting/Club option includes a $1M buyout Vest with 110 games finished across 2020/2021 & 55 games finished in 2021 & passes a physical 2022 Buyout increases $1M each for 53 games finished in 2020, & 2021 I have no idea if he will reach the vesting option portion of his contract. If he does he gets $16M next year . Cubs might eat some of his contract to get more prospects. It's even likely that they do. Maybe someone out there knows more about how close he is to those 110 games finished or if they are even possible to reach.
  2. I really think they are counting on a rebound in his BABIP for the 2nd half. It's already started if his last month of production is any indication when he's been over .900 OPS.
  3. Doubting anything big happens. Big would mean someone on the 26 is getting moved in all likelihood. Who is the most likely ? Keuchel ? Who needs starting pitching ? Toronto, Mets, Phillies, Padres. Unless the Sox think they can get someone impactful like Kimbrel for Crochet Sheets and Burger.
  4. His BABIP is way down so the Sox might be hoping his 2nd half is better. His ISO is up. Very solid fielder and I think that matters too.
  5. I'm guessing Cleveland liked one of our young arms. Edit: Yep Pilkington
  6. They must like one of our pitchers. His ISO is up this year. His BABIP is way down. They might hope that BABIP goes up in the second half and he is solid defensively.
  7. Well if true Cleveland must like one of our pitchers.
  8. Still the point remains that if all but one were vaccinated some players have it again and the new strain could be a very real threat to the health of players .
  9. That's very astute of you Ron ! Guess that would eliminate some Nats since they had 8 staff members and 4 players effected in their recent outbreak.
  10. Such a nice way of saying"It's a bunch of bullshit." So the Brewers missed something ? What about Story ? Anyone think he's healthy when his throwing speed is down and his barrel % is at the lowest of his career ? If very little goes on it's because the money's already been spent on Lance Lynn.
  11. Or Semien (8th in fWAR while Tatis, Jr. is 6th) . Couldn't be Bassitt , Narvaez 3.0 fWAR ( as much as Moncada) or Escobar . Those happened long ago.
  12. I won't be angry although we are already hearing some excuses. I mean people here are like oh see the Story stuff pops up right after the Escobar trade to the Brewers as if something else is going on. But what did we hear about Sox being picky on the medicals? Oh didn't like Escobar's meds even though he hit for 124 wRC+ for the last month, yet Story after a HBP on his hand and his throwing speed is down and his hitting is down and we should believe there isn't something wrong with him ? Then of course Eloy is back, Robert coming soon, Lynn gets 2 more years so everybody's happy right ?
  13. What makes you think he's getting $20M in Arb 3 next yr. when his current year is $6.2M . Wouldn't that be some kind of record like by far ? I think his salary could double or even higher than that but $20M seems way out of line.
  14. They've kept him healthy so far. I consider that a plus for his development as a reliever. Trade him to a team that starts him and he'll end up getting Tommy John surgery.
  15. Why does an announcer have to have credibility to mention someone is an upcoming FA and therefore could be moved by a team that is probably 50/50 on buying or selling ?
  16. You really can't answer that question yourself ? It's fucking Twitter where everybody says anything because ...insert any reason you can imagine because people...
  17. All my guys are gone I think, Gallo, Escobar, Graveman ,Yimi Garcia, Chafin are all guys I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. S.Marte not done yet I guess but looking likely.
  18. Idk man, doubt his defense at 2nd would please very many here.
  19. Kind of a volatile guy. Not sure that's what the Sox want.
  20. I'm trying to figure out some dream scenarios like trading Keuchel to the Blue Jays for Semien or their prospect who's killing it this year in A ball SS Orelvis Martinez while simultaneously getting Scherzer for Sheets and Burger and Kimbrel for Crochet + whoever.
  21. That's why it hurts to see Houston get Graveman, Twins trade Cruz to Rays, Frazier to the Padres ( though I didn't like him). I mean still lots of big names out there but if they aren't coming here and going to teams we have to contend with it's going to be rough to see that happen. Imagine Hahn telling us the juice wasn't worth the squeeze when Escobar goes elsewhere or we get only 1 reliever and Asdrubal Cabrera. Scherzer can go to the Giants or Dodgers. Cubs have a lot of work to do on their guys. Kimbrel is a huge piece that's going to go somewhere. Jays probably make a couple moves, Yankees ,Red Sox too.
  22. I wanted Graveman but with the start the Mariners had after the All Star game I didn't think he'd be available. It's the kind of move that the players and fans never want to see but realistically what are the Mariners chances of winning the World Series or even making it to the ALCS with Graveman ? DiPoto saw the market for good relievers and he got a good young 3rd baseman with 4 years left before he reaches free agency. They did also get Tyler Anderson from the Pirates after the Phillies trade for him fell through. Guess we have to wait a few days to see what else the Mariners do.
  23. Sheets has been my mini Gallo without the rocket for an arm , good defense and a massive amount of walks and K's.
