  1. I'd rather have Chris Taylor, Now that is one valuable and versatile guy. Dodgers would want more for Taylor than they would for Joc most likely.
  2. I spent time because you asked for stuff in the last 6 -12 months so I gave it to you because no one else did. And don't forget the refusing to use defensive positioning cards again was also in the last 12 months. I gave you extra just to highlight how many suspensions he's had though I think the one where he gave the finger to Cleveland fans was reduced to community service . I'm not moralizing at all, Just facts is all I'm doing for anyone who is interested, It's all pretty easy to find and not that time consuming. No one is going to change their minds but maybe some will use it for educational purposes. As for myself, I like doing research because it helps to have the full picture before making up my mind. There was a time a few years ago maybe before the rebuild that I liked Puig and probably made a few posts on acquiring him when Caulfield was in his heyday as the Puig advocate. I actually think the Sox are finished sighing anyone to a ML contract, Anything we see probably will be a minor league contract though I'm still hoping for Holt or a long reliever.
  3. I'll add that Yoelkis Cespedes is already 22 so hopefully he can sign July 2nd. He'll be 23 in September.
  4. You'd think a smart guy like you could find the facts pretty easily but perhaps I give you too much credit and you are just doing your troll dance again.
  5. This article is from 4/2019 and is very fair about Puig's days with the Dodgers. Near the end of it , it says Puig still thinks he knew the league well enough to not use defensive positioning cards when he got to Cincinnati. You do know he was suspended twice in 2019 right ? Puig was involved in bench-clearing brawls in each of two Reds losses to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The first one in the top of the fourth inning of a 7–5 defeat at PNC Park on April 7, 2019 resulted in an ejection and a two-game suspension for extending hostilities.[58][59] He reenacted his actions just under four months later on July 30 in the top of the ninth of an 11–4 loss at Great American Ball Park, minutes after news broke that he was going to be traded to the Cleveland Indians.[60] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yasiel_Puig https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/la-sp-yasiel-puig-dodgers-legacy-reds-20190414-story.html It's a long article with quotes from temmates Other links to various suspensions over the years. https://www.mlb.com/news/chris-archer-yasiel-puig-suspended https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/giants/dodgers-yasiel-puig-suspended-fined-obscene-gesture-indians-fans https://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/la-sp-dodgers-puig-suspend-20180815-story.html For older stuff there's also the Molly Knight Book : The Best Team Money Can Buy. She's done plenty of interviews on the book and Puig so here's one https://www.espn.com/blog/los-angeles/dodger-report/post/_/id/15540/a-qa-with-author-molly-knight
  6. I wasn't taking a moral stance on his misadventures. I was saying there are too many misadventures to think he would be a model citizen on the Sox so I prefer not to have him. As long as baseball continues to allow him to pursue a contract saying what he has done compared to others is totally missing the point. It was others who brought up that driving 110 mph with others in the car wasn't so bad. Again the severity of the offense never was the point but yet I'm the troll or idiot. How can the point repeatedly keep being missed ? I certainly was drawn into it when I probably just should have said I'm not judging the crime I'm only thinking he has too many incidents to hire him. Talent often wins out over flakiness or being a disruptive personality so you would do it if you were his boss. I wouldn't. He hasn't done anything heinous. He's just doesn't seem to comprehend that he is not his own boss when there is a hierarchy of those who chose to pay you.
  7. Very good. Had a long career . Most of his good years with the Cubs .
  8. But who was the guy an 1961 who also had the 300+ total bases ?
  9. Excited to see Kopech and Madrigal very much even if it won't be right away. Super excited to see Robert , You keep hearing about the speed, power and fielding and the stats back it all up. Just to throw a little tidbit out there; Robert was the 1st minor leaguer since 1961 who was 30/30 (HR's and Stolen bases) +300 Total bases.
  10. Thanks. Love stuff like this . I've always said the INTL draft issues and scouting and development should've been addressed at the start of the rebuild , Talk of sustained success always rang hollow with me because of those issues.
  11. So you've been a baseball fan for a long time and always thought the left side of the infield was in front of a place they call Right Field while the right side of the infield was in front of Left Field ? Always thought it was kind of self explanatory but hey now you know ; Some times our brains betray us. As a kid and not knowing much about death and having some relatives who threw around words like babushka and klotzskis, I'd often hear the term "who died and left you boss" ? I thought died and left was one foreign word in German or something. Diedundtlefft. I eventually figured it out .
  12. Shorten the season back to 154 games or less then. Too much baseball in late October and November is not a good thing.
  13. I had a feeling when I saw it was you responding the Autobahn would be involved. There isn't a speed limit but they do recommend not going over 80. The purpose from the beginning was high-speed travel so there was no reason to limit the speed. The Autobahn network was designed with wider lanes, wider curves and lesser grade changes than other existing roads so that cars could travel faster and safer since there wouldn't be any crossing traffic either. However once again I not focusing on the speed ,or that one Puig incident or blowouts but only have been responding to others who cherry picked one incident out of many I listed. If the others purpose was to get away from the original argument and focus on highway safety then I am probably beat. But I didn't start that discussion . Last time I am responding to anything but the multiple issues about Puig. That was my focus since the start.
  14. I guess you won't be able to see this apology then. I am sorry for saying you said 100 when you did not in all posts where I said you did. This apology is sincere for misrepresenting what you said. See how easy that is to say. Apparently it's not that easy to others. This is what you said. "not sure why 110mph in a 70mph zone is mind blowing to you. " So i will now respond to that. SInce you did leave out the part where he had passengers in the car I can say that if anyone wants to drive 110 on a public highway and they can guarantee having an accident will kill only yourself nor cause any property damage or cause inconvenience to others cleaning you off the street then go ahead and do it as often as you like. I have no idea why you think I am a troll . I listed many reasons in my initial post on the matter. Many agreed with it judging by the amount of positive responses in the emojis. You focused on one reason and others have picked up that gauntlet . I don't think defending things I say is being a troll. I have not intentionally tried to instigate conflict, hostility, or arguments. I stick to the facts. It was you who picked out 1 fact out of many I listed and tried to tell me how harmless it was.
  15. If Puig is on the team and performs well and stays out of trouble I'm all for it. It's the possibility and odds against it I don't like . Please gloat all you want if that comes to fruition. I'm all for anything that helps the team win if no one gets hurt along the way and that includes Puig hurting himself.
  16. Yes you sure are lying and twisting . That is undeniable. Your cavalier attitude cannot mask it. If you expect me to back down think again. Puig isn't necessarily immoral. Stupid and immature at many times in his life for sure. I have no idea why you think admitting you were stupid also makes your argument any stronger. Perhaps to show yourself as just a normal dude to all those that can relate to the thrill of driving fast and being stupid. So I am the martyr while you are the every man who all can enjoy your flippancy and lightheartedness. Don't think for a minute that I am unaware of how clever that is. I honestly hope you never do that again .. a blow out at those speeds would have killed you and your wife and perhaps others. I'm no saint but what I have done or what you have done has no bearing on this discussion
  17. Thank you . That has only been focused on because that is about what I keep getting challenged by others who lie and twist the facts and compare it to other situations including driving less MPH without occupants. It just one incident among many and I won't back down no matter how many lies are told.
  18. I never said you were nuts . I quoted 2 posters and you said I called everyone nuts. Once again you misrepresent the facts but at this point I'll just call it lying your ass off and playing it for laughs. If you drove 110 with your mom in the car and got arrested like Puig jeopardizing not only you life but others in the car and other drivers along with boorish, obnoxious, lazy ,combative behavior on and off the field and while jeopardizing your chances to continue to make vast amounts of money I'd be against hiring you too. Moving the goalposts :To alter the rules or parameters of a situation in such a way as to suit one's needs or objectives.
  19. I called them nuts for thinking he was an entertainment to be enjoyed. Notice I never once argued against his abilities a baseball player. FFS sake try telling the truth. Speed was 110 with occupants including his mother. It was reduced to 100 with no mention of occupants and saying we all drive that fast and you made light of it by comparing it to you driving 85-90 with wife and kids so if that's not the definition of moving the goal posts then I don't know what is.
  20. You can't troll me into getting angry with you but I did give you a laugh emoji.
  21. Well duh I brought it up only when challenged and facts misrepresented and I was accused of changing the facts. I wouldn't have brought that one thing up again if you and others hadn't cherry picked it out of a long list . I'm not upset at all. If upset is defending yourself against people moving the goal posts so be it.
  22. Somehow you think that's the only incident that matters to me because I addressed it individually when someone misrepresented the facts and then you further reduced the speed . It went from 110 with occupants ( the real facts) to 100 with no occupants to 85-90 from you with occupants. Then I was accused of raising the speed myself from one post to another. How was I supposed to respond to that ? I don't think he is worth the risk because of an endless list of transgressions on and off the field involving team mates, other teams , managers, coaches, relatives, writers, civilians and law enforcement. You think he is worth the risk . So be it.
  23. No i listed it among many other transgressions and only addressed it individually when someone else brought it up and reduced the speed to 100 and ignored that he wasn't driving alone in the process. He willfully ignored the facts I gave him.
