  1. No I really haven't defined anything except he is not a run producer. That is something we should all know. The question is do u take a very real shot at winning 2 world series this year and next year without him at the very beginning of his career when he is still an unknown quantity. Comparing him to a HOF 2ND basemen has no bearing on his future. I'll take 3 Cy Young candidate pitchers and a chance at 2 World Series over Madrigals future every time.
  2. Quite likely but having a shot at winning world Series because there are other teams want to win too is something a serious team has to deal with all the time. As you said the window is open. No need to close it now .Take your best shot. Who knows? Right now and for next year they have good chance before Vaughn and other prospects even can contribute. I find it hard to believe anyone who thinks it's a bad idea to trade Madrigal, Lopez and Mercedes wouldn't trade them for a good shot at 2 titles . I can understand if someone might not think it's enough to get Lynn. Then you dont have to trade for a SP in the off season and you keep Vaughn and all other good pitching prospects.
  3. I agree with this but Lynn is a match made in heaven for the Sox. Only $10M a year for next year, less for this year , much less. So he gives you a shot at 2 World Series. Cheaply during the height of his pitching abilities . He's a legit Cy Young candidate this year. If him. Gio and DK all keep pitching like they have been that's 3 guys in the rotation who all could win the Cy Young. 2 legit shots at world series I'd take a very serious shot at that and trading a non run producing 2nd basemen wouldn't be a high price.
  4. Ok no Madrigal . But Sox are still going to need another front line starter to give them a better chance to be World Champs THIS year and next hypothetically, unless Covid and social issues makes sports unplayable. All 3 are spart parts now. Maybe moving forward Madrigal is no better than Mendick , I like him but he's a singles hitter who would rather not K than take a walk. His running ,hitting and baseball acumen is over rated. He's certainly not a run producer. Outfielders will play shallow till he can drive the ball into gaps and down both lines or over their heads. I'm not hating on him I'm just not as impressed with him as many are.
  5. Just a few weeks ago reading tweet about the Sox 2- 8 home record being worst in club history after 10 games. Are we over .500 now at home ?
  6. I really dislike 7 inning games when a team like the Sox has a good bullpen and a lineup that can put up crooked numbers late in games. Just think our odds of overcoming late inning deficits are better than most other teams.
  7. Well I know the concerns about him are legit because he absolutely is just tough to put on this team. Ever since the Vaughn rumors it's like Mercedes disappeared . Here you have a guy who took the long road to get to where he is now and old enough not to have concerns about service time who hit just as good if not better than Robert at the same time at the same level. Then theres Vaughn ultra talented top draft choice who hasn't played above A ball with obvious service time issues. Why in hell would he get brought up before Yermin ? Vaughn is the future not the present no matter how much we salivate for him. Mercedes is built for the present but he's a round peg without a round hole. Encarnacion isnt going anywhere. And even if he did Mercedes odds of making a good contribution to the Sox this year only move from impossible to nearly impossible.
  8. I do because all 3 of those guys haven't contributed anything this year and Rangers get a non run producing decent runner and fielder . A starting pitcher who still has upside and a few years of control and run producing DH they can play right away to see if he can do as good as I think he can.
  9. Ok I do have one trade proposal that everyone can hate me for. Madrigal, Lopez and Mercedes for Lynn. Flame away.
  10. Blah to all this trade talk. Covid is just too big of a factor now and until it isn't dont make a trade unless you get a steal. It's hard to imagine GMs offering very much now no matter how many wild trades ex or wanna be GMs are proposing .
  11. Anyone with MLBTV subsription can always watch it again. If not a subscriber but have a smart TV just use MLB app and you can see condensed game and recap highlights.
  12. I hope Eloy never dances for dubs. He may pull something .
  13. Ok someone has to say it. Congrats to Rick Renteria .
  14. I thought that was a hit. Yes Engel. Yesssssss hell yes Gio !!!!!!!
  15. Ok now with 3 outs to go I'm pumped but the W is what counts.
  16. Welcome back Yolmer. Have glove, will travel.
  17. Thank you, thank you, thank you !!!
  18. Did you see them being no hit when you took the Cubs on FanDuel ? I trust you doubled down the next day against Darvish ! Don't hurt me please !!
  19. If you want to give up big innings in the playoffs and totally frustrate your pitchers and inflate their ERAs then Castellanos is your man with Eloy in the other corner.
  20. I could see this post coming from you from a mile away and I agree wholeheartedly.
