Exactly. It's all just speculation based on putting 2 and 2 together and hoping it equals 4. We saw the Yolmer news and speculated it had something to do with Wheeler based on the other Sox rumors flying around from NY about Wheeler and the Sox. Merkin did the same thing. If people choose to believe he did more than that based on his connection to the team that's their choice. It is not mine and others.

Regarding all the previous posts too numerous to multi-quote: There's no reason for in-fighting because some choose to believe the hype while others don't. It is what it is . Some posts will age well and some won't. No one should be saying "I told you so" because if something does happen we are going to all be happy either way,(unless it's not the grand anticipated news.)

Or it's just based on reputation when he may no longer have inside info. That's no knock on him . We are all optimistic. It's the optimism based on nothing credible that's hard to stomach. We all see the same info but we don't draw the same conclusions and getting all worked up about it is silly. If it's meant to happen it will and nothing we can do will make it happen faster. Once rumors start flying everyone picks them up but it's all just hype based on one original tweet that sounded credible . Yea we do have the room however even hoping for Wheeler is something that doesn't happen often. Consider this. He could be the largest dollar contract in White Sox history by breaking what we just signed Grandal for. So hoping for 2 record breaking contracts in 2 weeks is crazy enough. Cole or Strasburg is just a few degrees crazier. People don't really consider the top 2 because they take paying the rest of the roster and other free agents into consideration and an expected payroll limit not just for this year but in the coming years. We are just being practical considering those restraints, as are all the teams going after Wheeler. His market might have more players than Cole and Strasburg for those reasons not particular to the Sox.

And it is a tease because since he seems convinced the Sox wouldn't sign anyone on that day and it doesn't happen today now he can get all hyped up for Blackout Wednesday when he wouldn't have. Even though his market is strong perhaps the guys with a draft pick attached might not want to wait too long since that hurts some guys last year (Keuchel and Kimbrel wasn't it ?)

Imagine if it wasn't Wheeler but someone like Keuchel or Hamels. Everyone would be disappointed but I'd still be stoked that the Sox are working to make the team better. It's not like the rest of these pitchers are crap.

On my last flight into Chicago in September I watched in flight movies for free on my phone but I didn't notice if wifi was free or not. I'd just stick to some good movies you haven't seen if you have to pay for wifi. The news or non news will still be here.

If it happens today I will be happy for you and everyone else who has come to this conclusion. but, I don't think it will. It's just too much too hope for so early in the off season. It would be like the Braves and the Sox are the only ones doing anything so far.

Right . They have all off season and he could wait to when teams are desperate after they miss out on Cole / Strasburg or someone unexpectedly in your rotation has a freak accident. Because life happens. The flip side to that is teams move on when you wait also because they don't want to be in that feeding frenzy too close to spring training.

Oh you mean like Moustakas ? There's Brock Holt still out there and Kendrick and Starlin Castrio and Kipnis etc etc but none really fit the LH bench piece with pop if you mean could hit 35 HR's like Moose or if you mean more like a true bench piece who hits around 10 .

I hated the whole premise of Batman vs. Superman even though i was just going by the title when I first heard of it. The whole idea that Batman or anyone could think that Superman was corruptible bothered me. Here is this super man both physically and morally yet somehow Batman who is supposed to be very smart somehow thinks Superman could be corrupted and proceeds to fight him with very little dialogue between them to resolves what makes Batman think that way. I know the whole argument with absolute power corrupts absolutely but without any proof how the hell could Batman just get so worked up about it enough to fight this paragon of virtue ? It just belittled the Batman character too much. I got over it because the whole Death of Superman with Wonder Woman ( her character intro ), Superman and Batman fighting as a team was pretty cool.

Ok not sure I understand if your logic is different on adding Wheeler or Ryu as the 1st pitcher is strictly financial and or need/financial combined . If you need 2 pitchers is the extra $10M+ on another year just you saying an extra $10M+ here and there adds up and you're willing to roll the dice that the difference in talent between someone signing a 2 year contract as opposed to one year is negligible ?
