Also MLB could institute a draft in the next CBA in 2027 .Of course under JR the Sox refused to operate the way most teams did and the one DR player they signed who turned into a superstar was traded before he played a single game in the Sox system. It would be perfect Sox timing to finally get in on the best pipeline for MLB talent outside of the domestic draft for the last 50 years for the MLB to now decide in 2027 to go to an international draft.

This was being talked about during todays win against the Rays during the game and on the post game show. Also on the CHGO podcast . Apparently he is 12 years old, 5'7" 140 lbs.

Bold predictions is just another way of saying likely to be wrong predictions so dont feel bad 🙂 . I don't think predicting Vargas or Sosa to not suck was particularly bold. Putting some predictive numbers to your definition of not sucking is somewhat bolder.

Smith might normally be done at this point for the amount of pitches this late in the season but no one warming up in the pen and used many in the pen yesterday so Smith will start the 6th.

The Sox were done scoring by the 3rd inning. It was just a matter of could the BP hold onto the lead. Lots of big clutch hits in the Sox 5 run second inning. Burke walked the bases loaded w/ no outs in the 2nd. But pitched out of it with no runs with a K and a nice DP turned by Colson. The Sox followed that up with the 5 run inning. Back before they changed the rules that pitchers have to pitch to 3 batters to speed up the game. The only reason we saw it tonight was Taylor only faced 1 guy because of injury.

Improving their 1 run record. 3-1 in the last 4 1 run games. Its always talked about how being better in close games is akin to learning how to win together. Of course it can't be quantified but its one of those baseballisms we always hear along with it builds character.
