Steven Wilson in. Hopefully his unblemished spring ERA does better than Leasure's did. I don't actually know if Pleasure hadnt given up any runs this spring or not before today but I know he had been pitching well. Wilson fairly quick inning.

Great Leasure getting a start but gets the added burden of extra innings rule. Gave up 2 double and HR . Sox coming to bat finally. Garrett Schonele and Adisyn Coffey . .The pitching coach who left in AA spoke very highly of them and the Sox do promote pitching from AA and they're both already 26. They should've at least got invited to camp . They had great seasons in 2024 along with Pallette and McGough. Coffey actually pitched most of his innings in AAA .Schonele got 3 innings in AAA no earned runs.

Pallette 1 2 3 9th. Sox get final AB in a 1 -1 game.

Need a few breaks along the way but Schultz, Hagen and Shane Smith Sean Burke and Grant Taylor could be one hell of a rotation. The Smiths and Colson & Braden Montgomery could be fun eventually .

Getz doesn't seem like he had any interest in giving some of the bullpen minor leaguers a fair shake at making the team opening day ,which is a shame since some of the better ones from last year are already 26. But he stockpiled so many older tradable arms he's giving them priority to pitch until they get traded then perhaps add in the younger guys depending on their minor league numbers. So sometimes the make them earn it stuff doesn't really fly. Pallette did nothing but impress and he's back down. After that no else else was given much of a chance. McGough got some innings but got roughed up. Leasure still with a shot but he's on the 40 already.

Catchers rarely do that but you never know he could be our LF .He's a pretty good defensive catcher though. I'm intrigued how it all works out with so many young guys.

But I like good games. I never once said it means anything. Although I hope it does. Hope is a 4 letter word around here.

But why do the bad ones mean so much then ? Mid season form , Same old Sox .Why push back against winning and strong performances ?

Small sample of good is better than small sample of bad. Besides you and I could put SSS on nearly every post for the preseason.

3 rookies did damage today. Teel 3-5 , double , HR 3 RBI , 2 R Bergolla 2-3, double, SF, 3 RBI , 2 R Quero 1-1 1 R Total: 6-9, 2 doubles, HR, 6 RBi, 5 R All 3 hitting . 300+

2 of the last 3 games have been hopeful. And even the one they got shut out was some great pitching performances. Only 6 runs given up the last 3 games.

This game deserves a winners thread ! I won't though but it might be the only time I can do it in a chill time .

Hard to imagine Taylor getting cut as he's guaranteed money. Hopefully he'll open his eyes and swing the rest of ST. Maybe he should get his eyes checked. I would include Sosa somewhere in the offensive lineup.

He may not though.Had a pretty seamless transition from A to A+. Not nearly as many games played but still hit .316 in 76 AB .Only 2 of his 24 hits though we're for extra bases 2 triples).

Bergolla hit .300 in A and A+ combined last year . No HR power . 5'9" 160.

Bergolla gets a double .The 20 yr. old has 2 hits in 6 AB. Sox with 2 more runs. Teel had a single also. Rojas now 3 for 3, Sosa single and a walk. Vargas doubles in Rojas who had stolen 2nd for the 2nd time today . 5-1 Sox lead.
