Make A Deal: Joakim Soria
I kind of doubt it too but are 40 man issues really issues on a really bad team ? ?

Make A Deal: Joakim Soria
A lot of that AAA team will be gone. Would hate seeing Eddy Alvarez go without a few games up at the end of this season

Make A Deal: Joakim Soria
They may undervalue Clivan since their top 2 pitchers are highly valued and Clivan while a good pitcher doesnt have a sexy K rate at all. My problem with Nolan is that he's not a goodd fielder atm and we need more guys who can actually catch the ball.

Make A Deal: Joakim Soria
With my follow up posts I sort of already disagreed with the post you quoted . And yes I disagree with myself quite often

Make A Deal: Joakim Soria
If he gets packaged with someone I'm hoping its to the Indians. They have some nice prospects. Maybe Nolan Jones at 3B and/or Aaron Civale. Indians top 3 would all seem out of reach unfortunately.

Make A Deal: Joakim Soria
MLBTR rated the top 75 trade candidates at the All Star break . Here is where they listed Soria and their reasoning : 12. Joakim Soria, White Sox, RP (LR: 12): Soria recently saw an end to a string of 18-straight scoreless appearances. He’s earning $9MM this year, with a $1MM buyout on a 10MM mutual option for 2019. With a 2.75 ERA and 11.3 K/9 vs. 2.3 BB/9 on the year — buttressed by a career-high 14.7% swinging-strike rate — Soria looks to be quite a worthwhile target. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/07/top-50-mlb-trade-candidates-2.html

Wow you answered that question before I even wrote it !

7/17 Games
Have to start somewhere. Better to start low and move up then to start high struggle and then get moved down. There's really no hurry in his case having just completed a college season with a high intensity finish. Have any of the 3 picks above him started at a higher level ?

Make A Deal: Joakim Soria
On a true contender he's not sa closer maybe not even a setup man. 7th inning glue guy. DSL team needs some help that's all I got. Maybe a decent AA player.

Hey You are the man Sleepy. I thanked you for every single video u put in this thread and I will try to remember to trophy anyone else who does that too. Makes coming here so much easier than scouring the web. I also encourage others to trophy those members who provide things like this just as a courtesy. All it takes is a click as we get used to the new board. I know I appreciate a thanks every now and then as encouragement and it's such a nice thing to do that takes so little time.

Trade Proposals
In case you missed it. This from the recent Future Sox article on Jimmy Lambert: Everett Teaford, a former major leaguer pitcher with Kansas City and mostly recently Tampa Bay in 2015, was a pro scout for the Houston Astros until the White Sox hired him to join their player development staff last November. The 34 year-old Teaford is paying immediate dividends in his first season with the Sox, helping Lambert "all along the way" to improve by using his analytic pitching numbers.

Machado deal structure "in place"
There's a lot to be said for trade deadline trades. Sometimes having a guy for a full year can result in a disaster if your club has a lot of injuries or guys you counted on regress. At least at the deadline you have time to assess your needs going forward after seeing who is injured and where the holes sprouted up. 3 months of a great player when trying to be the World Champ is more valuable to some teams than a year of the same player that never resulted in a chance to win it all. When all is said and done maybe the packages wouldn't have been that far apart especially with Manny being a better Manny this year.

Trade Proposals
Exactly but we still haven't come up with our version of Scooter Gennett or Aguilar or Chris Taylor or Max Muncy which concerns me . I will say Ti'Quan Forbes is looking good and Sox have had some success in the past with Quintana, Kahnle, Gavin Floyd and Matt Thorton.

Thank you for the example.

Machado deal structure "in place"
Just remember I asked SSK2 to give me an example that didn't have to make that much sense . So cut him some slack on that example.
-
Machado deal structure "in place"
Ok maybe not making myself clear . Give me a proposed trade. Doesn't have to be make a lot of sense just something interesting that I can wrap my head around . You can involve other guys like Zach Britton or Adam Jones or any other Dodger and throw in the prospect of choice.

Machado deal structure "in place"
I know but I'm talking about a scenario with the Dodgers and Orioles . That was to shore up the bullpen and get a few flippable pieces while still not taking on that much salary. That helped the Sox . Give me something that would help us now. I'm stumped.

Mad Regal !

Machado deal structure "in place"
Can you give me a scenario where taking on a high priced vet would be beneficial to the Sox ? Do you think we'd also get a prospect? And if it's just taking on salary how does that help the Sox ?

Ho Hum Eloy with 2 hits including a double. Hardly worth mentioning /

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
I just like wins. There are so many younger or youngish guys on the Sox it behooves them and us for all to play well. Sure we can make a list of guys most important to the rebuild but if everyone does well it means a much better future . Realistic ? No . But, ideally ,the best possible outcome.
