  1. Just goes to show how difficult projecting power is. Many here didn't like Albies because of the perceived lack of power, Now he has 9 HR's and is threatening to tie and break Jermaine Dye's franchise record for most extra base hits in April. My take on projecting power is that if you hit a lot of doubles into gaps or long fly balls down either line that the power will come. That's why I have hope for a guy like Rutherford who many also think won't hit for enough power.
  2. That's just terrible for a major newspaper. Editing ? Proof reader ? Not just the headline but also a few times in the story too.
  3. Yep you rarely see mid/small market guys from bad teams get that honor. You have to be head and shoulders above the rest of the competition to get it if you're on a bad team
  4. He will never have more walks than K's , not even close, as is the case with most players. Joey Votto who takes a very high number of walks has done lt done it only 3 times.
  5. T'was a fine event to behold
  6. It mean the hitter hit the ball in the air usually to an outfielder that was caught for an out. If was to an infielder it would be a pop out.
  7. Despite the K Davidson still 1.010 OPS
  8. Looking on the Sox website at auction on Sox spring training jerseys and Davidson has more bids on his than anyone else, even Moncada. Anderson no bids at all. https://whitesox.auctions.mlb.com/iSynApp/allAuction.action?sid=1102381&promoGroupList[0].strValue1=CWSC&rc=25
  9. Glad you cleared that up for me because I was wondering if that was the case.
  10. That thread when Cespedes, Upton and Gordon were all FA's was a good one. I'm pretty sure Gordon was 3rd among the 3 among Soxtalkers who expressed an opinion . I remember arguing with a lot of people when I wanted Cespedes though.
  11. Game day had Trayce PH for Palka then it switched back to Palka . That was weird .
  12. Fulmer ERA 4.50 though I would imagine his WHIP and FIP isn't so great but 6 shut out innings is nice to see. Matty Ice just incredible.
  13. So far Abreu has hit the ball 98 ,108 and 113 MPH and has an 0-3 to show for it.
  14. Royals sucking with men on base so far this series. Also nice to see Carson wiggling out of tight spots.
  15. The out by Anderson was the 1st out by the bottom 3 in the order . They are now 7 for 8
  16. Nice hitting DP (Dan Palka not the double play )
  17. Never make predictions during a losing streak. Sox won't be this bad all year. Maybe top 5-10 bad but not top 3 unless Hahn trades Abreu and Moncada is affected by it.
  18. If the Sox end up with Donaldson then we know the management team has learned nothing. You want to compete year after year then don't get older free agents . It's pretty damn simple actually.
  19. Also Sox 3-0 at Kauffman while Royals are 1-10 there.
  20. It's 10 day old. It hasn't aged at all .
