  1. QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 10:00 AM) Ya saw somewhere online about possibly this weekend for Jackson http://www.sportsmanias.com/news/chicago-w...e633603058b48c5
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 09:51 AM) They said it on the 6th. Dan Hayes Verified account ‏@CSNHayes Mar 6 Austin Jackson is expected to report to camp tomorrow. Is likely a week to 10 days out from playing in A games. Yea just checked the Ajax acquisition thread. Seems like longer but my internal clock is off since I am temporarily not working.
  3. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 09:46 AM) No Jackson yet. Said it would be about 10 days before he got in a game. What's it been 7 0r 8 days ?

  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 01:11 PM) Another hit for Carlos Sanchez. He's got value, even if it isn't with the Sox long term. It could be long term since Lawrie is only just a 2 year player until he proves he can stay healthy and field his position and even if he does that free agency will beckon while Sanchez has time to blossom.
  6. QUOTE (almagest @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 12:51 PM) Avi destroyed that ball. 9-0. Triple and HR both off righties. Right ?
  7. Avi bombs away line shot to deep deep left HR after a Melky single. I like Willie Harris.
  8. Wooo Oppo gap (left-center) HR by Rollins after Eaton single.
  9. Carlos Sanchez with a triple. He could turn into a really good hitter. Already 4? doubles and now a triple this spring in only about 10 AB's. Lomabardozzi crushes one for a SF. 5-0 Sox
  10. Great start. Rollins , Abreu, Cabrera all singles then Avi triple to gap in right.
  11. QUOTE (Cessna98 @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 10:37 AM) I do get pretty cranky when the Sox lose especially when I am at a game, but my wife may get more cranky than me. Her and I were at our last game in our plan and the Sox were losing by 5 or 6 runs in the 5th when there was a single hit out to Avi and he bounced the throw to the cutoff. She went ape crazy. She told me on the way home that she refused to put out more money on that team. That team last year kept her in a foul mood. She is excited about the Jackson/Frazier/Lawrie signings which allowed me to get a 14 game plan this year. Hopefully this team will keep her in a better mood this year...... So you married a Sox fan . That's awesome. It's always best to feel like you're getting more for your hard earned money, but if money isn't tight just getting out to watch your favorite team , win or lose, is always a great thing.
  12. QUOTE (ypres @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) LOOOL. Weren't the Indians rumoured on Fraizer and Lawrie too? We stole all their guys. The avatar space really is perfect size for album covers isn't it ? Love my rock. I might have to get rid of angry Billy Bob and put some good album art there now.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 05:46 PM) They lost each game. My wife was upset that we spent that money on that team and refused to let me get another plan for this year unless they got a 3rd baseman and another outfielder. Done and done I told her last night! See ya all at the ball park! Quite amused at the idea of wives or girlfriends complaining about the "entertainment value" of Sox baseball but men can't make similar comments about the need of some women to buy new handbags, jewelry, cosmetics and shoes every month??? Btw, if they had won all those games, seemingly that would have given you more justification to spend even more money on the Sox, right? Undoubtedly, it doesn't quite work that way. Fwi, heard a crazy stat during the Angels broadcast today. The White Sox didn't get a single homer from a LHB against a LHP all season in 2015? Really? Caulfield, surely you don't think it's about entertainment value do you ? When the Sox lose it's all about the mood it puts the male Sox fan. Losing equals bad mood equals less helpful, less communication, less ... well you get the idea.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 08:18 AM) Since people seemed to like these last year, we are again doing the weekly stock report for those not guaranteed roster spots in Spring Training. That includes those vying for roster slots, and prospects who are just in camp for other reasons. But we have a new writer on the job this year - Matt (MDL27 on SoxTalk) will be handling them this year. He will also be joining us for in-season recap writing and other posts. Here is the Week One Report. Good piece. I'm one of those guys who is always encouraged by seeing good results and hardly ever discouraged by bad spring results early on. So yes I'm biased ,optimistic and when results are bad its always "he could be working on something , a new pitch a new stance." May and Davidson have impressed the most. That Coats oppo HR was impressive. Engel has looked good although the results aren't there as of yet. The catchers have had good results . Kevan Smith, Hector Sanchez and Omar Narvaez have all had a hit or 2 . Sanchez took a foul tip off his right hand so not sure how bad it was because he was taken out of the game. Narvaez is old for the level he played in so perhaps they're taking a long look at him in ST. Brantly had a HR. Pitching is even harder to assess because one inning you can look like a world beater and the next inning look like cannon fodder. However Danish and Kahnle have looked decent. Turner , Tago, Webb and Ynoa all have looked good. Some might think Avi Garcia is guaranteed a spot on the team but I think there's a battle between Shuck, Avi and Sands for a spot on the 25 so they should be watched. Avi has looked good adjusting to his new stance, Sands looked good then bad on both offense and defense. Shuck is always a solid slasher . Dan Fields has shown flashes with the bat and is probably a better fielder than Sands , Avi or Shuck.
  15. For anyone wanting to see that Davidson HR it's here. http://m.mlb.com/cws/video/topic/26659992/...enter/?c_id=cws He's 3/6 so far this spring without a K.
  16. Davidson with a bomb to CF that cleared the batters eye . Easily 450ft.
  17. Lombardozzi with a 2 run bomb to give Sox 5-4 lead.
  18. EJ got 1st 2 guys out, Trout and Pujols walk. Calhoun lifts high fly to short left that either Sands or Saladino could've caught . Sands must ve called off Saladino then trys for a backhanded catch about thigh high and dropped it. Should've been an error but given a hit. Wild pitch scores Pujol's. 2 -0 Angels. Both runs should ve been unearned but are earned.
  19. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 07:52 AM) 1.) For So Cal White Sox fans, the game is on at noon on fox sports west. 2.) It must be a SS game today as Eaton, A. Garcia, and La Roche ( to name a few ) aren't available today. 3.) tomorrow at 6am PST mlb network is airing the Fox Sports West feed. Thanks ! Watching it now. Hector Santiago and Geovanny Soto the battery for the Angels, Shuck leading off ex Angel , got on via SS error , caught stealing . Lawrie K. Abreu single to right. Frazier line out to SS.
  20. QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 09:02 AM) That would be retarded. I'm basis that off the last 3 years of Danks combined with Tuners pedigree and a belief that a healthy young turner is going to be more productive and add more balance to the rotation. Erik Johnson... the forgotten man .EJ getting a real chance needs to happen with Latos health history and Turner never having lived up to the hype and also his health history,
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 07:57 AM) Really rooting for Johnson to be as good as possible to add to our flexibility. I already made a bold prediction that EJ is better than Jordan Zimmerman and his $16.5M contract. No one would've remembered it but I'm stating it again just to be out there.
  22. QUOTE (Dunt @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 06:46 AM) He had 2 good months last year. Avi was awesome in April/May last year, you need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture though. Bradley Jr. has been absolutely awful since he was brought up. A good 2 months when you only get 221 AB and 10 HR's gives you an .832 OPS, He does that for a full season and we're looking at perhaps a 6 WAR guy.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 06:03 AM) It's really incredible how Hahn was able to make all these moves and not give up the draft picks. The Jackson move caps off a fascinating, yet productive offseason. Kudos to Hahn. $10M Alexi = $5M Jackson, $3M Latos, $2M Rollins . Fascinating.
