  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! When is enough enough? Quit messing with the game
  2. Those that call for Gordon Beckham's release/trade need to step up and tell the rest iof us who is going to take over at 2B. Don't give me the "we can get by with Oh-Daewg or Escobar" either cause we can't afford going backwards as far as offense. There aren't many real good trade possibilities out there either that I am aware of. You need to replace him with someone of better quality, if you call for his trade. And I mean better as equal to is not acceptable to a winning club. You need to upgrade. Gordon Beckham was rushed to the majors period. He has shown improvementh in his offense and then falls back. My guess is he is his own worse critic. He will bring it around I think because he works hard at it. All reports support he works hard at improving. He is better than average - much better - defensively. Good defense can make up for astruggling bat.
  3. MLB Network Saturday at 6 PM MDT Sox in Texas. See you behind the big screen game
  4. I am all in for Gordon Beckham to stay in a Sox uni
  5. Remember all we need to do is score one more run than those Rangers. Let's see Sale step up and show he is the ace of the staff
  6. I think I get more satisfaction by beating the Twins then the feeling I get when we sweep other teams and then it feels real good too
  7. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 07:50 PM) At some point we have to just accept that beckham needs a change of scenery. He has almost 2000 plate appearances at the mlb level and has .245/.311/.380. Not exactly trending upward either. Just looking around clubs that are sellers there not a ton of 2b that are enticing, but Aaron hill is an interesting name. Certainly has had success(and failure) in the AL and is having a nice bounce back year. Probably wouldn't be a huge upgrade but he's got pop and is reasonably salaried on a team where he's likely not in the long term plans Put the Beckham thing to rest. It ain't gonna happen
  8. Get em Jake, Win one for the boys. Please no three or four run inning in this game before you settle down
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 03:54 AM) In a small way this is a blessing. It will give Flowers some consistent ABs for a few days to try to get some rhythm together. It doesn't hurt any for sure. AJP gets three days off and is the hero on Friday
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 12:19 AM) Hawk..."You're darn right, I had an oblique pull for six years, kept me from making the Red Sox Hall of Fame." plus "I have been at this game for a long time - sinced we used rocks as baseballs and this is tough" LOL
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:17 AM) Had to pick tomorrow for my first (and probably only) game of the season. Will have to use the CF shower or hide in the shade for most the game. Seats are right next to the bleachers down the LF line. Glad you get to go buddy. Enjoy!
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:14 AM) I think it would help if he came across as somewhat humble. I think honest and humble might be the same thing? He hasn't tried to hide
  13. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 04:13 AM) (Sox love him. He's not going anywhere...) Ton of upside
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 03:18 AM) Beckham's has had a ton of chances with the White Sox to "figure it out". The kid had a very short learning curve in the minors. Give him a break
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 03:07 AM) Beckham can't hit. Trade him to an NL team so we can forget about him. If we trade him to an AL team, he'll just haunt us like so many former Sox do. I thought Beckham would be a star. He can't hit. The only way I'm for keeping Beckham is if his parents come to every game the rest of his career. He will figure it out. You guys sound as if you think Beckham and other young hitters aren't trying to work on their weaknesses
  16. has anyone talked about Alexei's loss of power? This is easily a 15-20 homer a year guy with two this year
  17. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 02:51 AM) Tough to blame a guy that has saved our asses the last two months. He should have three more wins, easy. point well taken
  18. This type of a trade isn't going to happen and shouldn't
  19. QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 11:32 PM) Any catchers on the market? I'd like to see the Sox get Salty, even if AJ is ok in a few days Slight strain makes me think trade talk is an over reaction
  20. Thornton is back. To get out of that innning should be the cure for him
  21. Beckham is still a good player and we should keep him. Defensively he is one of the best. The bat will come. Trust me
