  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:40 AM) I love how Hawk b****ed that Javy hadn't thrown a change-up, and then after the homer, he says "Kubel probably has 3 homers against the Sox off of the change-up". Hawk knows how to analyze don't he?
  2. Well done Javy Vazquez! You are really showing the Twinkies now whose the boss
  3. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:36 AM) Apparently Kubel is also the f***ing s***. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR f***ING ASS VAZQUEZ! I am afraid we wil see him give the run right back, if this doesn't stop now
  4. QUOTE (rangercal @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:35 AM) uggh. They just interviewed a twins/cubs fan . Couldn't tell if it was a man or woman though. Don't think most Cubs fans know what or who they are really either
  5. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:34 AM) But Ozzie didn't let Anderson use a bat. Fisticuffs you say?
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:33 AM) 4 pitches low and away to Ramirez...he's going to make an adjustment hopefully. Let's hope SOME of our hitters (and BA wouldn't be one of them) can learn to drive that pitch to RCF and be content with singles and keeping the line-up moving up and down. Let's hope so, but lately it's the homerun or nothing. He might be tired or something, but his BA had dropped about 15 points
  7. QUOTE (The Critic @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 01:31 AM) "Griffey had the best BP session he's had since he got here" "Wouldn't surprise me to see Griffey have a BIG series...." followed by a weak-ass double play grounder Hawk = Miss Cleo But, DJ he just missed it I tell you! Just alittle under it dadgummit!
  8. Don't tinker with the line up and leave it to the pros to perform. Trust our team and manager IMO
  9. If you can't hold runners on base and have shown that all season my guess is it isn't going to magically change during this series. I agree that it is a glaring weakness though, but too late to worry about it now. Baseball broken down to the basics, which applies to this series, is to throw strikes, be aggressive on two strike pitches and put the batter away and play good defense. Of course scoring more runs than the Twinkies will help a lot to win games.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 01:05 PM) So I noticed that the last few games Hawk has REALLY been praising Brian Anderson and got to thinking... Either he is trying to hype him up to increase he trade value, or we are looking at oour 2009 starting CF. Thoughts? I like what Bran Anderson and Dewayne Wise both have brought to the club. They can play all three OF posiitons, pinch run or pinch hit and one hits RH and one LH. I see them back as reserves before Ken Griffey Jr is back don't you think?
  11. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Sep 22, 2008 -> 05:12 PM) He had to try something.... Vasquez isn't gonna motivate himself. It's times like these where I really miss Freddy Garcia. Freddie last start with the Tigers was a 5 inning 1 run allowed win, but I still think Javy can do the job when called on. DJ even made a similar point in the last WGN game I watched with Javy pitching and Vazquez reaching back for a bit more on his fastball to put people away. DJ said he wished Javy did that more because he has a such a dominating fastball with movement.
  12. I wil listen to these games via XM radio. sucks that I have to hear Twins broadcasters though
  13. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 08:47 PM) I think I'm going to Minny. I know nobody cares but I thought I'd throw that out there. Good luck in Minny! If you go I'll be jealous
  14. XM Radio for me so I can take in all three games in Minny. I'll be there yelling in my living room for a Sox winner!
  15. Starting pitching is the name of the game for the Sox through 6 or 7 innings. What we need is some relief pitchers other than Jenks and Thornton, who will step up and play like they have a pair. The offense has struggled some, but we should be ready for the twins series. I want to win it hoiw and not let this go back to Comiskey with us still trying to clinch. ESPN of course must not see the Twins-Sox game Wed as important enough to show as I see they have announced they are carrying a Cubs game. There is no race in the NL Central anymore so who cares about the Cubs?
  16. I fearlessly predict that if we score more runs then the Twins we will win
  17. I sense the end of the season is near. A winning streak to end the next 7 or 8 would be beneficial to this team and this site
  18. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 21, 2008 -> 03:03 AM) Does anyone fully come off back surgery? If anything it was supposed to make his condition better and it obviously hasn't. I don't miss his popups, that's for sure. You seem to forget the clutch hitting to dribe in winning runs or get a rtally started and you forget his great glove at 3B killingh opposing teams rallies. Joe Crede=winnah
  19. I don't like the 3 days rest stuff. He could have used Broadway
  20. This team is not playng as if it wants the post season
  21. Bizarre, but it might be a good omen. Are we superstitious?
  22. I'll be there tonight siting in front of the big screen watching from my easy chair in the living room. WGN tonight! I'll wave.
  23. They can admit when they stink, but what we need is the ability to come back and win more than 1 out of 3 or one out of four games. I think they have enough left in the tank to do that.
  24. This is the time we need players to step up and deliver as a team
