  1. I was thinking that through the first 4 innings where he k'd 8 out of the first 12 we had Cy Young, but I was glad to see he wants to fit in with the other starters by giving up 3 homers. Really I think we saw a glimpse through those 4 innings of some special talent. Maybe he was just trying to hard or that Guzman got lucky and Freddie threw a hanger.
  2. I was waiting for the calls to trade him snce he gave up the homer. We seem to have people on the board that call for trading some of our best everytime they make a mistake such as Valentin and Konerko, et al. So let's trade the guy he must be on the downside of his career.
  3. It is quite possible. No homers and 13 RBI's. I think WH is still a great talent, but he is slow in coming around. Reed and Olivo are great talents too, but they are gone. I think anyone might go from this in KW's attempt to improve it. The only question is Valentin's status for next year. I hope we keep him.
  4. A good solid played game all the way around for the Sox. A winner and we have3 in arow. I will see you guys here tomorrow to see how Garcia does in his debut. Enjoyed your company tonight!
  5. My goodness Shingo's ERA is miniscule: 0.95
  6. I think that is how a lot of teams feel: The less they see of Shingo the better they like it.
  7. Dang this Timo Dude is starting to impress me!
  8. You have it worse thasn I do then. I can get WGN, ESPN and sometimes the Sox are on the Fox Sports Rocky MT when Seattle is playing.
  9. You are correct about that. I would think that his cutter must be working real good most of the time this year and he hits locations and has movement. MB is not a strike out pitcher and has surprised me with the number of K's.
  10. I had my say about Mark and the others giving up the runs and now I am ashamed. Really MB has been pretty good tonight. He even has more innings pitched then hits allowed in the game, which means he has been sharp.
  11. Ozzie needs to talk to Frank about his hitting! I guess getting fooled is all part of the experience.
  12. GameDay showing the pitches and it looks like 3 pitches right there. Did Frank even swing? Is Silva that fast or tricky?
  13. Juan is starting to hit the ball hard and regular again. Great going Sox!
  14. This seems to be the routine of the last couple weeks or so. Hitters hit and then the Sox pitchers give the runs right back. The big 3 or 4 haven't been stepping up very big lately.
  15. Good to see Paulie get Frank home from 3rd with 2 outs. Didn't try to do too much with the ball otehr than put it in play.
  16. I agree. Ortiz would be a nice addition, but he is not worth Valentin. There may be some others the Angles might be interested in though.
  17. We have a very good established pitcher in Esteban Loaiza. Let him just walk and we are in the same position next year as we have been the last few. Garcia is good and put him in the starting rotation with E LO, Buerhle, Garland and one more from Shoe, Rauch or Diaz and we have one of the best starting pitching stafs in he league. What I fear the most is we let both walk and lose Ordonez too. That's been our history though.
  18. I think it will set in when he pitches Wddnesday for the Sox and wins some games.
  19. The fact we gave up Olivo blindsided me. I must admit I never expected that one, but as much as I like Miguel Olivo I have to think more trades are likely. I was maybe even more surprised though when we gave up Koch for a minor league prospect. It shows how much his value dwindled in less than 2 years.
  20. Pretty much right on there. Jon and his love of giving up the homer is beyond me. The guy throws too many cookies and they all end up n the OF bleachers. Is it just his fault or should our catcher take some responsibility? How about Ozzie or Cooper calling Garlands pitches from the bench? Do they do it?
  21. I posted this before but once again I'll say my thing: Uribe worked with Walker early and often. He started the season with a real hot bat, but started getting away from what Walker was teaching. You can see it in his swings, his follow through with the bat, etc. He wamts to swing at everything and swings out of his shoes all the time. If he would listen to the hitting coach I think he would get back on track quickly, but he doesn't and that's his problem.
  22. Logging on to see what was happening. Garland is moving along and getting good defense. I have the game being recorded on VCR at home and I am on the road. Hope to watch a Sox winner tonight. See you all in the winner's circle.
