Another stellar offensive performance tonight. I realize Dye and Thome aren't in there...but geez-us...some of these guys look like they just came up from AA.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) Lol. Who didn't see that coming? seriously. I can't remember when he's had a money hit.

Where are all you Erstad haters now?
Jury should still be out on Ersty. He had a completely HORRIBLE start...that and the fact most fans felt he was being rammed down their throat against popular opinion...which in itself got the guy off on the wrong foot. He'd have had to come out of the gate hitting at a .400 clip to satisfy the masses. I say if he maintains his current pace...I'm ok with him. Not the optimum defensive CF you really want...but he's no Mack out there.

Anybody worried about our lefty relievers?
Not really an excuse for Thornton...but he really hasn't been used all that often. Maybe he just needs some innings to get on track. Out of the 3...Sisco scares the s*** outta me when he comes in.

When the Trib's Sox beat writer needs data, he...
Doesn't appal me. The dude probably just emailed him or something....but Gonzales made himself look pretty stupid as well az LAZY by not verifying it. That's a reporter's job Marky Mark.

WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:51 AM) Kinda crazy how the two tied for 3rd place teams in the central are now tied for 1st and the former two tied for 1st place teams are not in 3rd. All four teams separated by half a game still. Out of the 4...only one is above .500 at home this year. All are above .500 on the road.

Where are all you Erstad haters now?
QUOTE(max power @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 01:06 AM) I don't know how anyone could hate on a grinder who grinds his way- all the way- to the prestigious "player of the game" championship title. Don't you think a player has to do something for the team before the fans of that team accept him as part of it? Sure the fans will root for him while he is batting, but they don't have to like him. Dude...I think 9 for his last 27 is a nice start.

Where are all you Erstad haters now?
I don't give a s*** how he started out...which was pretty poor...but if he stays on a clip like this for the remainder of the year...mark my words...he'll have a cult following. It's just the nature of people.

Congrats on your first win Boone!
He deserves his own thread. He came in...much to people's bemoaning...but got out of a tough jam with a HUGE K! Great job Boone! Hopefully it'll build from there. Doesn't he get a shaving cream pie in the face...beer bath...something?

WHITE SOX WINNER!
QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:40 AM) It's great to go 2-0 in KC. We all know how the Royals gave the Sox trouble last year. A key to winning the division is taking care of KC as much as possible. I know the Royals are the...what's the midwest term..."pecker gnats" of the AL...but I really wasn't all that impressed with there lineup.

Was that Boone's first win?

QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 12:24 AM) Is it just me or has Bobby looked progressively better in almost every appearance? Yes he has. Goofy ass game....but I'll take it all year long.

God...I read it before it happened on my mlb stream.

QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 11:36 PM) If Thornton still has his usual velocity he should be fine. We might need to give him some appeareances to get straightened out, and give him a full innning instead of using him as a LOOGY (which has been the case lately). Or Sisco. Thornton hasn't pitched nearly enough.

Regardless....that was strike friggin 3. Terrible call.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:19 PM) Walker is garbage. Please. He had two homeruns off of Felix in one lucky game. I'll bet he'd get Aced twenty times in a row if he saw him again. I would have put that in green if I knew how. Forgive me...I'm a mac user.

White Sox vs. Royals, 4/24/07 (W)
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 10:15 PM) He's had the very same mechanics since the start of last year. Same approach. Same awkward lean/bend. Just a bad hitter. That's why I say, if he goes anywhere, I'll bet he's as bad as here except for Texas. Send him down. That's where our boy Walker may want to come in.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2007 -> 07:54 PM) Actually, I'm pretty sure that if the Knicks made the playoffs, someone else got the pick, but we're well past that point. No...they wouldn't.

I love the shift against Thome...then they pitch outside. Nice job Paulie!
