White Sox vs. Tigers, 8/03/07 (W)
Wanne replied to South Side Fireworks Man's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(Linnwood @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 09:10 PM) Who was Ozzie humping in the dugout?! Anyone else see that on FSN Detroit ? Harold. -
God forbid if any of our pitchers throw a little chin music once in a while.

Would you claim him and try to work out a trade sending Uribe, Broadway or whatever else in hopes of making a run next year? Would the O's be willing to do this (looking to dump his salary and beef up prospects)? I'm not sure of what the O's are thinkin'. I know he's been hurt and all...and this would be strictly bonin' up for next year.

Typical Soxtalk household diaries...... Her Diary Tonight I thought he was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment. Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk, he agreed but he kept quiet and absent. I asked him what was wrong - he said, "Nothing." I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said it had nothing to do with me and not to worry. On the way home I told him that I loved him, he simply smiled and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, "I love you, too." When we got home I felt as if I had lost him, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there and watched T.V.; he seemed distant and absent. Finally I decided to go to bed. About 10 minutes later he came to bed and to my surprise he responded to my caress and we made love, but I still felt that he was distracted and his thoughts were somewhere else. I decided that I could not take it anymore, so I decided to confront him with the situation but he had fallen asleep. I started crying and cried until I too fell asleep. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster. HIS DIARY Today Kenny is pushing this team further into the abyss and made another worthless trade, but at least I got laid.

QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 03:33 PM) especially since he gets to hang out in SoCal for the rest of the summer in a playoff race. I'll trade you, asshole. No s***...playing baseball for a living...and in San Diego of all places...I'd give my left one for that.

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines I'm assuming he means Tony. Why would these guys even write crap like that.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 05:19 PM) Just got a call from my old man, and he brought up an interesting point. He said when he heard what we got back, that in the back of his mind, maybe this was sort of a "make-up" deal by Williams? I think now it sort of looks like the Sox might have passed off damaged goods with Philly in the Garcia deal, and even if Kenny isn't responsible for that, maybe a deal like this, helping a team out in need, for maybe not the most value that he could have got for Gooch, but clearing things up with Philly, to open up things down the road. Could be very, very far from the truth, but kinda interesting. That's was I was kind of thinking too. It had nothing to do with "who" the Sox would get..... -
It's kind of a moot point depending on what KW does with the pitching staff IMO. If he deal Garland and finds some poor sap to Count off our hands we'd be going into next year with really 2 veterans starters...and a semi-seasoned Danks. If he ends up dealing Garland that says rebuilding mode to me and think you could probably write off Dye and Pods in that scenerio. I could be wrong...but that's my gut reaction...although it could just be gas.

Man it would be so sweet to see these guys go on a nice 10-game run here. They're actually showing signs of life...but as soon as you say that...somebody craps the bed.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 18, 2007 -> 02:54 PM) I really want Conor Jackson in LF now though... Was this supposed to be in green? Dude....seriously.
-
I've been on this bandwagon for 2 years now. It's obvious the DBack's either want to go a different direction or not give him the money he wants. The whole "grinder" crap aside...why not Eric Byrnes? Name me some better options next year when he hits the FA market.
-
I guess my biggest problem was keeping Sisco up...which I think personally was an ego trip by KW. Sisco had NO BUSINESS being with the big club at that point...and yet he was used in critical situations. But there was talk of using him as a starter at the beginning of the season. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...but isn't he being used as a starter now? I'm not blaming KW for all of this...but between him and Ozzie's use of the pen...it's been frustating as hell. And along the lines of the pen...somewhere in there AJ needs to be mentioned. I know it's probably tough for him knowing all these new faces and all...there strengths and weaknesses...but I can vividly recall just shaking me head with certain pitches called for in certain situations.

Albert Belle interested in owning White Sox
Wanne replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(kageman129 @ Jul 14, 2007 -> 09:43 AM) Screw having him own the club. Get rid of Walker's ass and hire Belle as hitting coach. Well, anybody except Walker, please. Interesting. My vote still goes to Pudge Fisk...and groom him to replace Ozzie down the road. -
I think you could find somebody in Winston-Salem that's better than Day for God sakes.
-
Seriously...if there's nobody better than Day in our system to bring up...we are truly F%$#'d.
-
Lidge makes some substantial coin...around $5.4 this year...up for arbitration next year. Not sure if he'd really be worth it. Maybe just a change of scenery would help him...but if you're talking about replacing Bobby for him...no thanks.
-
Sounds like a lot of the arguments on this board in regards to Walker. One difference though...the DBacks have a lot of young hitters on the team. Whose to say if it would make it harder instead of changing a bunch of veterans. I do feel bad for Seitzer though...only made it through half a season.
-
QUOTE(Nokona @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 12:41 PM) Gio? I don't think the Sox really want to bring Gio up any time soon and just let him further develop where he's at. No sense rushing him. God I hope it's not Aardsma...or Sisco. I think Richar.

Mark Buehrle Agrees to 4-yr, 56 mil with escalator clause

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 05:09 PM) Just got home from the game. WOW. That was the most fun I can remember at the ballpark. The announcement after the game was the happiest I have been in a long, long time. Hey Tony...did the crowd go nuts when it was announced? Would have loved to have seen experienced that. -

This signing probably also saved me the embarrassment and cost of getting thrown out of Sun Devil Stadium this fall at an ASU football game after I tracked Kenny's ass down and went into an explative-laced tirade over letting Buehrle go. -
QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 04:56 PM) Why not give Anderson another shot for the rest of this season and maybe he could turn into Torrie Hunter Lite & White? If blows again, then go after someone like Hunter in free agency. I honestly don't think Anderson every sees the Cell again unless it's with another team. I also don't think Ichiro is going anywhere...if he does...wouldn't surprise me if it's with the Red Sox. I'd take Hunter in a heartbeat. Rowand would be my plan B (but not at the money he thinks he's going to get). I'm still having the Rowand=automatic outs WS flashbacks.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 04:52 PM) That would be the best thing ever if Dye gets healthy and goes on a tear and Count throws a couple of Gems, and then the Dodgers trade Kemp (if healthy) for them (plus cash). ^^^^^^ -
I was pretty encouraged by DLS. Dude's got some serious heat. But like everybody's said...needs another pitch. Not sure his current arm angle is condusive to an effective changeup. But overall...I like what I saw. btw....the Reds have some nice young guns.

Dare I say that between coming back with a couple of very good outings and resigning Mark...something good is about to happen? I big winning streak perhaps...
