Buehrle Fest
I swear...if KW and Jerry f*** this up...there is gonna be such a backlash. Why would they risk that? Why would they deal the most valuable piece of the orginization? I know everybody will jump my s*** for saying this...calling me a "non fan" and all...but if they trade Mark...or balk at all of this...it will be a LOOOOONG friggin time before I give a s*** what this team does.

That's a White Sox Loser
I'm still at a loss as to what to even say. I left to run outside and jump in the pool with my kid...up 6-2...come back in what seemed like 15 minutes later...down 7-6. Ya know...I wasn't anticipating this team going on a 30-5 streak or anything...but I at least thought they could put together a nice run and save some face and at least play with some pride. That alone would have kept my interest at least. But I am officially done giving a s*** about this season. It's done. Time to play the youts and enter the Pedro Alvarez sweepstakes.

500 for The Big Hurt
QUOTE(Allsox @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 02:10 PM) 500 HRs for my favorite White Sox player of all time And to assclowns who say he isn't a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer, screw them! Least all his HRs were all from natural strength and skill, unlike others Friday, July 27th, I will be there in my 35 Thomas Sox Jersey standing on my feet as soon as he appears on the on-deck circle That's not a nice thing to call Sonik22's Dad.

Glendale, Ariz. approves new spring training stadium for Dodgers and W
QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 01:48 PM) Is the air heavier in Glendale? It's not the heat...it's the stupidity! (I actually proposed that a few years back for a new state slogan).

I'm ecstatic over this whole thing! (note my "from" under avatar). I HATE driving to Tucson!

I think I say this on behalf of most of the people here...
Nicely played Ribbie!

The Greg Walker Lynch mob thread
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 26, 2007 -> 02:09 PM) Also, I believe he is Greg Walker himself. I've noticed he never posts during a game. I said Mrs. Walker about 8-9 pages ago. Wow....36 pages later and you're still on the box!!! You go ssi!

i hate everything on earth now, so..
QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) Ugh.. add Thome to that Thomas, Belle combo and we would have scored 2000 runs. pretty much.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 06:59 PM) Pods with the base hit to center. 4 hits for the Sox. There's the spark that get's going on a 10 game streak here. where's that friggin green button...

Phil Rogers Details Kenny's Failures
It all comes down the the Hindsight game. I can't speak for anybody...but if the Sox knew Crede had back issues back in '05...it would have made some sense to unload him at his peak value. Hindsight is a great thing and all...and many would have been pissed unloading Rowand AND Crede the same year...but would have been somewhat smart. KW rolled the dice that these guys were set to make another run and fell back on the '06 hangover theory which bit him in the ass. With that thought...it's not a bad idea to "retool" after reaching the summit.

Who will you most blame for MB being traded?
QUOTE(striker62704 @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 01:10 PM) Who was the cornerstone we traded? Garcia? McCarthy? Those are the only two players I remember being traded. That was a hypothetical IF/WHEN KW trades Burhrle. Wasn't talking about Garcia (which I was ok with)...and McCarthy (who I was THRILLED) they traded.

I think I say this on behalf of most of the people here...
QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 25, 2007 -> 11:24 AM) 2. I know first hand that they don't care and I've been saying it since the start of the season. This is a group of passive boys who care more about getting drunk and their golf game than how they do their job. If this is true...and I'm not saying I don't buy it because it would make 100% sense and explain a lot....but I think this probably pisses me off more than anything.

Who will you most blame for MB being traded?
I'm having a hard time understanding how you blame anybody but KW. The Sox have sucked...so the first thing you do is trade one of your cornerstones who hasn't been anywhere close to being the problem. Anymore...nothing surprises me this year.

Josh Fields and team's lack of clutch hits
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 24, 2007 -> 09:39 PM) Fields doesn't look lost. A little overpowered, but not lost. He's got an approach and he's not looking like an idiot on offspeed pitches. He knows what to do with those and breaking pitches. He just needs to work on his batspeed and shortening his swing. And we have just the man to teach him all this! pffffffffffffffffffffft.

Maybe Some Great News
QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 04:16 PM) I wish they would clear out both broadcast booths... me too....as well as the team...except for Burhrle, Danks, Fields, Garland, AJ and Konerko. The rest...buh-bye.

Duane Shaffer
What's that saying about a blind squirrel..... I still blame KW. Shaffer was simply (in your best Brando voice)..."an errand boy..." It'll be the same s*** next year....with 15 pitchers being taken with the first 18 picks or some crap like that...then back the the blind squirrel theory.

White Sox vs. Cubs, 6/22/07 (L)
Nice friggin throw. Nice backup by the pitcher. Wow. This team does suck!
-
White Sox vs. Cubs, 6/22/07 (L)
I'd just a soon have the picks next year for Dye. We ain't getting crap for him. I'd also rather live with Sweeney growing pains out there.

KW in PTI five good minutes right now
He was basically doing company-speak. Of course he's not gonna say he's a seller...makes him look like he did a crap job this year and lowers value. And of course he's going to defend ALL of the coaches like he said. That interview had all the earmarks of one of those mushy-ass Hallmark "I f***ed Up" cards.

Buehrle Wants a Five Year Contract
QUOTE(vandy125 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 03:08 PM) And how much money is it going to take to sign him, if he is signable....? Wouldn't that also cut away from being able to afford Mark's contract? What is Price expected to get?....$6-7M deal? Last year's top college pitcher, Andrew Miller, got a four-year, $5.5-million major-league deal from Detroit, and it's safe to assume Price seeks more. Luke Hochevar got $3.5M last year as the second overall or something around there. Yeah...that'll break the bank. Sure, it's a crap shoot whether he turns out to be good...but I think it was a risk worth taking. Has little to do with the current roster....especially if you're looking to the future and weeding out the likes of Contreas and Javy and the quiche they're making.

Buehrle Wants a Five Year Contract
QUOTE(daa84 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 02:57 PM) my guess is that the only way we resign buerhle is if KW is somehow able to find a way to deal contreras before the deadline As well as Javy IMO. Resigning Mark is a must I think and build around Mark, Garland and Danks...and go from there. All this talk about rebuilding the rotation for the upcoming years...really makes me regret they didn't have the naddies to take Porcello.

2007 College World Series Thread
friggin ASU sure crapped down their leg yesterday. Not sure why Murphy pulled Flores after the 1st...not really a good decision IMO. Guess we'll see what ASU is made of now. I really thought they'd blow through everybody with the horses at the plate they have...but they seem to be like the Sox a few years back (and now I guess) relying on the long ball.
