  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 15, 2006 -> 12:48 AM) We have a player that was beaned not once, but twice without any retaliation. You realize that bad blood isnt going to go away just because AJ and crew says its over. You do realize that without getting redemption for our hit batters that if AJ or more so any player on the sox gets beaned tomorrow its more likely to be a flashpoint for a bench clearer than some player getting beaned in retaliation. Blalock and the entire Texas Ranger bench knew with the game out of hand, and the fact that AJ was plunked twice that someone was going to get nailed. Its a part of the game that has been there for a very very long time. I blame this entire night on the fact that Vaz was too much of a pussy not to plunk someone right after AJ was beaned the first time. It would of been over and done with. Now with AJ getting plunked twice this has a higher probablility for flashboil than anything. Absolutely! Ya know...I'm just flat out gettin tired of this s***. Not only does our catcher get friggin sucker punched (and not really a goddamn thing has been done about it)....now our guys have targets on their backs...especially AJ (for whatever goddamn reason). Ozzie went off...sure. Call it cool or not...whatever...maybe some of ya could send Tracey some flowers or somethin' if you're worried about his little feelers...but Ozzie should go off...and not just at his team...but in general that this s*** needs to stop...period!
  2. Sorry if I put this in the wrong forum...but I went back to IL this week to my Dad's to help out after the passing of my mother this week. In a box that my Mom and Dad had packed up earlier for me was a 1952 White Sox yearbook (along with a 1983 and 1990 game program, a 1993 Diamond View volume 2, and a 1955 scorebook)...but the 1952 yearbook was autographed by these guys next to their photos: Nellie Fox Minnie Minosa Eddie Robinson Luis Aloma Sherm Lollar Howie Judson Hector Rodriquez and Saul Rogovin It's in really great shape except for a tear on one page. Just wondered if anybody had any advise on were to take it or if anybody could estimate a ballpark value on it so I don't get hosed.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:05 AM) Um, no. I love the full stadium and all but having a crowd that doesn't give a s*** about a close game in the 8th inning is sickening. I'm sure we could fill the stadium with people who can avoid standing every 60 seconds, there are plenty of people out there who would love to go to a game but can't because it's sold out lets get those people into the park to replace the asswipes who encourage the wave. These last few pages are classics! Completely agree though...pisses me off to no end. When I'd go to Suns games...if you got up and left...you were screwed until a timeout or something. Can't remember if the DBacks do that too. Ushers wouldn't let you just saunter back down the aisle and f*** up the game for everybody. Should be that way at EVERY venue!
  4. 13) What is the biggest blunder in White Sox franchise history? 1917: Sox replace first baseman Jacques Fournier with Chick Gandil. Gandil was the lesser player and the Black Sox ringleader. 1959-1960: Bill Veeck trades prospects for veterans. Off went Norm Cash, Johnny Callison, and others, and away went three or four pennants. 1981: Letting broadcaster Harry Caray get away. Cubs win! Sox lose! 1985: Hiring broadcaster Hawk Harrelson as general manager. In just one season, Harrelson managed to turn Carlton Fisk into a left fielder AND fire Tony La Russa. 1992: Trading Sammy Sosa to Cubs for George Bell. Must anything else be said? Got some more to add?..... The only one that pops into my head at the moment is Kip Wells, Josh Fogg and Lowe for Todd Ritchie :puke
  5. How often do you think Hendry kicks himself in the ass for not jumping on Prior for Tejada when it was a possibility?
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ May 23, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) Perhaps for YOU as a Sox fan. What is the problem...? You see a thread praising him, you don't have anything to add, so don't. EVERY thread about Frank ends up like this. :headshake I don't think he's being a dick. There really is no way to say "hey... we get it, you don't like him, stfu". I do agree that it would be nice to have just one thread without the bulls***. Agreed! I understand there are a ton of people who still love and respect Frank...so I'll respect their opinions and keep mine to myself on these types of threads.
  7. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 23, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) Your opinion is tired. We've been over all of this s*** time and time again. Now you're just being an attention whore. Uhhhhhhh....ok Dad. No need to be a complete dick about it. I've rarely posted on the subject...but whatever you say...you DA MAN!
  8. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 23, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) Wasn't it an advance on his salary? And again, it's impossible to have a Frank thread around here without some knucklehead trying to ruin it. Sorry to interupt the warm and fuzzy with an opinion. Is this better...

    Frustration

    My buddy sent me this...
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ May 23, 2006 -> 08:04 AM) KW can "pfffttt.. fat chance" all he wants. Kenny eats s*** if the choice is between him and Frank. Jerry will have Frank's back always. Dick Allen won you over...? That says a lot. What can I say...I was very young and impressionable. I highly doubt it ever comes down to a "choice" and hope that it doesn't come to the point where KW can't get past all this and says, "him or me..." if Frank wanted a position within the organization. I think that is the only way Frank wins out over Kenny...by KW walking. So let me get this straight Steff....you think reason that KW got the job was he was a minority and there was an opening for a uppermanagement position? I think it may have helped a little...but there's no way in hell that JR hires a person for a GM on the basis of race. The man had to have shown he was very capable and looking back, he was the correct choice over Evans (much to the dismay of many). I'm sure Frank "expects" a job in the orginization...why am I not surprised.
  11. Sorry...while I've always appreciated Frank's contributions to the White Sox...the guy just never "won me over" like players such as Dick Allen, Fisk, and even such as guys like AJ and Crede have right now. Not sure what it is...I don't want to come out and say it's his seemingly, "I'm a f***in selfish baby attitude"...because I don't even know him personally. All anybody really knows is what they've read of him in the newspapers and heard on tv...and I've interpreted much of it as being a selfish baby. Thought there was some interesting things in this little piece: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines A few things in here I found amusing...but the biggest was: I could actually here KW say, "Pffffffffffft...fat f***in chance..." all the way out here in Phoenix. I also like how Frank makes reference of himself growing up. BOUT f***IN TIME FRANK...you're only gonna be 38 sometime this year! So forgive me if I'm not all warm and fuzzy about Frank... thanks for your contributions to the Chicago White Sox Frank...but honestly I don't miss you in the least bit. If I was at the game...*golf claps* is the best you woulda got outta me.
  12. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 22, 2006 -> 09:22 PM) Nice cleats... :puke
  13. A fair question...but here's another...Why did all White Sox fans hate him when he was with the Twins? I personally can't remember any reasons why. But like most have said...you hate him if he's not on your team...but love him when he is. Baseball's version of Dennis Rodman for some reason.
  14. I agree with YASNY...Mack took a horrible angle on the ball on his initial jump and could never recover from it. With that being said though. Juan's throw was the killer...but I still would have liked to have seen Count stay in for one more inning and bring in Jenks (who didn't touch the ball this weekend) in the 9th. Terrible move by Oz.
  15. QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 20, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) Fox says AJ got tossed because he said something to Barrett that started the whole thing. AJ said nothing from what I could see. Who knows. Punkass Barrett is looking at at least 15-20 day suspension. If he only gets 10...that's a sad statement by MLB.
  16. Sorry if somebody already mentioned this...but did anybody actually witness this or know anything about it? From the Trib:
  17. Anybody else sick of Brenley whining about the strike zone?!? Shut the f*** up Bob!...I honestly can't see what he's b****in about.
  18. QUOTE(Felix @ May 19, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) It was a good call. He was out. I couldn't see his other hand...so hard to say.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2006 -> 07:20 PM) I don't care if Cy Young is pitching for Tampa, you should still have a chance to beat them. Santana is the only pitcher in this league who I don't expect the Sox to have a chance in hell against. Ya know what though fathom....this s*** happens EVERY GODDAMN year the Sox go down to Tampa! Every f***in year! I don't know if they just think it's gonna be a cakewalk down there or what...but a trip to Tampa pretty much = losing 2 out of 3.
  20. 80's = Carlton Fisk 90's = Black Jack 00's = That's tough...because I love this whole TEAM!
  21. Personally I'd still take Rowand over BA. But who's to say in 3 or 4 years or so. I think ARow's numbers will come down once the pitchers learn him like they did in the AL with a steady diet of low and away. If you get a steady .275 from ARow...I don't think you could ask for more than that. Maybe readdress the subject at this time next year and it could be a different story. ARow didn't exactly tear it up when he first came up either. And SoxFan101...yes...it was a J.O.K.E. http://www.tigersweat.com/movies/animal/house11.wav
  22. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 11, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) Oh yeah, and some other dude had a brain cramp and said that Germans bombed Pearl Harbor. Great site. Dude....it's a joke. Never seen Animal House?
  23. The Phoenix area is such a mishmash of mutts anyway...you probably see as much Cubs, Dodgers and Yankee stuff as DBacks...but this past year I've seen so much Sox gear down here it's not even funny.
  24. The transformation of Joe Crede from this time last year to now if phenomenal! Just everything about the guy...his confidence really shows. Was this a result of hangin' with ARow and AJ all last year? Who knows...all I know...he's one of the best in the league right now and want him in a Sox uni for a very long time!
  25. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 7, 2006 -> 08:19 PM) Anyone who even watches the bulls should of known it was Tim Thomas right away.... Ya think! GREAT summation though kalapse!
