  1. Wow! Like Oz says...I don't give a crap where he pitched last year...he comes in and does the job...there should be a spot for him. That was impressive!
  2. Who was the prospect that Hawk mentioned in his KW story that he told him to clean his locker out for being disrespectful? Anybody got a clue?
  3. Geez...does Florida have even one lefty in their bullpen? Hate to say this...but if Borowski didn't make so damn much money...I'd consider him. I know health is an issue with him the last few years. But he might be a mid-season acquisition to look at.
  4. Cintron was a name a lot of people (including me) were throwing out there last year before KW signed Gooch. VERY solid guy to have. To tell ya the truth...Gooch is gonna need to be on his A game...or Cintron is gonna be slotted in his place quite a bit. I understand the initial thought of Uribe in the 2-slot and Gooch down in the order. But when Cintron plays I like him at 2.
  5. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 16, 2006 -> 07:02 AM) How about Boone's Farmers? Could be a combo fan club for Logan, Sleepy Ed, and that QUALITY adult beverage. I could see that...I little section in the upper deck with people yakkin' up Strawberry Hill all over.
  6. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Mar 15, 2006 -> 01:43 AM) Might as well give him a shot. If hitters have never seen him before, and there is not much info on him, he could get away with some pitches. I would still rather have a proven vet or a player that doesn't make the cut and is out of options like Gload/Borch. s***...those pitchers always seem to work pretty damn well against the Sox.
  7. Awesome friggin story!!! Like his wife said..."what you see is what you get." I respect people like that more than anything.
  8. Can anybody verify this...I had heard or read somewhere that Pods hurt his shoulder in the offseason lifting weights. Is this true or bs? In some ways it makes sense...little dude lifting free weights. I'll tell ya what...I can do every machine known to man training...but as soon as I do free weights or a smith for shoulders...my friggin left shoulder kills me.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 07:51 PM) Wow Wanne. That's one of the most degrading things I've ever heard. Yeah...I always thought it was pretty tacky...mostly dudes just comin up tryin to earn some coin for their family. I worked right across the street on the 9th floor...and it was...every single friday. Could have done it a little more discreetly.
  10. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) Haha, I would take Osuna back in a second. I liked that dude a lot (not the poster ). He was pretty good in 2002 with us. He's still a free agent and I guess he pitched well in a Mexican league... http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...guenum=&id=1999 Osuna had arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder last May so he should be healthy now. Also, he's not completely old enough to be in gas can territory yet (he's turning 33 on April 12th). Great suggestion, by the way. That is a great call btw. I'd bring him back in as well...especially with Hermy almost a shoo-in for IR at some point IMO. Right now I"m looking at he really can't be relied on this year at all.
  11. QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 13, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) cincinati has to have somebody we could use, or milwaukee, or colorado, or tampa. I mean these teams won't make it anyway. I do like Danny graves as an option but n o way does cleveland trade him to us. That's why I was almost sure Baez was gonna be in a Sox uni this year. And I wouldn't write off Milwaukee so quick either.
  12. Actually that's the bus that I'd see downtown in front of the Phoenix Courthouse on Friday's driving the deportees back south. And you'd see the same dudes two weeks later. I'm not s***tin. That was about 10 years or so ago...so I'm not sure how they do it now. Actually it was a big charter bus...but they'd do that s*** every Friday. Not crazy about the nickname. Let's just got with Javie. Thought about Harry Vasquez...but that sounds nasty!

QUOTE(JoeBatterz @ Mar 11, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) Actually, they seriously need this rain bad out there. True...moreso in January and Feb in the form of snow in the high country. Fire season will suck this year! A day or two of rain is nice...but won't really mean all too much besides cleaning out the s***ty air.
  14. Wanne replied to hi8is's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Friggin figures!!!! I've planned this day for weeks...plus ten minutes from my house!!!! It hasn't rained for 5 goddamn months...and it picks this weekend! Oh well...there's Monday!
  15. = On 'Roids.
  16. QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Rock buy now, house prices are rising fast. Too fast. Actually they're coming down a little and the new housing is getting a little easier. It's swung to a buyers market right now instead of that clusterf*** that's been going on where investors turned this market crazy. Right now...you've got room to negotiate and houses are staying on the market for a while...as opposed to 6-8 months ago where a house was gone the first day it was listed (and WAY overpriced). Glad I bought when I did...my house went up about $115K in a year. Rock...you say you like it now...come august when you burn yer ass on your leather seats for the 50th time you'll change your tune. If you haven't been out here for a whole summer...here's a test that'll show you how it feels. Preheat your oven to 450º...after preheated...open the door and stick your face right in your oven! 2 musts: garage or covered parking...and a pool...if not...yer f***ed! I wish the Sox would move up here at some point. Sucks they're not interleague out here this year either. Hey...the Bears will be here this fall at the new stadium!!
  17. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) We have a bunch of AZ folks on Soxtalk. I lived in Scottsdale on E. Bell Rd up on the TPC for about 2 years back in 2003-04. Is Scottsdale still growing like crazy? The whole place is. Houses won't be too far from Lake Pleasant pretty soon. Hasn't rained for 5 months either!...was no snow skiing this year AT ALL! For Winnin'Ugly...nice friggin commute!...at least your house went up $100+K in a year! I would shoot myself during that drive! Can't say I feel your pain...I've worked from home the last couple of years!!! It's ok out here...too f***in hot though for TOO long!
  18. QUOTE(Winning Ugly @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) Yeah Bell has all them lights. Where do you live? Cactus and 59th Ave area. I'll be at the game saturday vs the Mariners!...and Monday in Oakland. We play in a over 30 men's league at the Peoria Sports Complex once ST is over. Where you at?
  19. DO NOT TAKE BELL ROAD out to Surprise!!!!!! From where I live...I shoot out Olive (Dunlap) and up Litchfield. You'll shoot yourself in the head if you take Bell! As for Titty Bars...I used to go to Centerfolds (cheap and nice women)...19th Ave & Peoria. Grab a New Times when ya get there (at any Circle K) and look in the back though for a complete list.
  20. I think that pretty much goes without saying...but fully agree. I'm not looking for any resounding numbers or anything...but I would like to see Anderson get off to a good start. Of course you'd like to see Owens do well also...but I can just see the Owens vs Anderson threads already. Goin Wednesday vs the Angels....CAN'T FRIGGIN WAIT! I'm blowin off work that day!
  21. QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Feb 27, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) sorry but i boo his ungrateful ass. giving him a standing o will only validate in his mind that he is right. did you not read the article where he thought fans were giving him standing o's because they wanted him back this year? he got standing o's cause everyone knew his ass was done with us after last season. that whole article is the most glaring evidence that he is the ultimate "ME" guy. EXACTLY! While I don't agree to boo his ass...personally...I do nothing. *crickets* when they announce his name. That would probably hurt his wittle feelers just as much. But I do agree that if you give him a standing O...it would just validate in his mind that he was right. btw...I'm going to the game on the 13th at Phx Muni...hope Frank will be there. Anybody want me to pass along any messages?!?
  22. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) Frank will be back here in 3 years to get his jersey retired, his statue envaled, and his face to be put on the outfield wall. He is Mr. White Sox. Its just really unfortanate of him to take shots at the White Sox organization- the organization that stuck by him for 16 years through thick and thin. Taking shots hasn't helped Magglio, so why does Frank think its going to help him?? Frank, you have 3 years to make amends with KW and the White Sox organization, I would start now. Don't s*** yourself...Frank's keeps flappin his gums...and it'll be a hell of alot longer than 3 years.
  23. Thanks for posting that. About that 10th annual list of Sports Weekly's 100 Names You Need to Know... I can't believe Cotts isn't on that list.
  24. ummmmm....okay Frank...if you say so. Maybe not ten years ago....but anymore...you're just an injury waiting to happen.
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 22, 2006 -> 12:54 PM) I hate you all, and I hope it rains the whole time you are down there. [/irrational jealousy] LOL...you'll probably get your wish. Hell...it hasn't rained down here in 5 months...and I'm not s***tin...5 friggin months! I'll be pissed if it finally decides to rain in March. First game I'm goin to is the 1st one in the Valley...the 8th against the Angels...then the 11th at Peoria...and the 13th against Oak in Phx. One of my clients is a big Angles fan and I told him we'd have to wrap his s*** up early that week and I'd give him a scouting report. Luckily I work from home and can go to pretty much anything I want...as long as it isn't Wednesday or Thursday. For you people going (and I'm sure you've checked the schedule)...the Sox are in Phoenix for 5 out of the 7 days! the week of the 19th thru 25th...can't wait! And as for you people going to Surprise...I know I stated this last year...but DO NOT TAKE THE CLUSTERf*** KNOWN AS BELL ROAD!!! Either go west on Olive/Dunlap (from I-17) to Litchfield Rd North...or I-10 to Litchfield North. You'll save yourself about 45 minutes to an hour sometimes.
