  1. I think the return for Fedde remains better than for Richards and Scott. Of course, it should have been and even moreso than it is.
  2. I could imagine Brebbia not drawing any offers at this point.
  3. 3B or LF/RF I would think. He seems to have the arm strength for RF, per the limited Statcast data
  4. Tired: Grifol shouldn't have said that Wired: Player(s) shouldn't have pissed themselves hearing someone say this to them
  5. FWIW, Fangraphs has these guys as 40+, 40+, 40, and <35 (unranked). And they all seem to be having bad seasons, although that is at least somewhat factored into those grades which were just updated.
  6. Not to defend this boob, it sounds like this wasn't offered as serious analysis but as something motivational for the players (whether it would motivate, IDK). Sort of a rah rah buckle up and keep your name out of the history books kind of thing
  7. Come on now, about a third of these are shitposts ?
  8. Two pitchers with 6+ ERA, two guys who can't hit ?
  9. I think the main reasons they signed DeJong are: 1. Hoped to flip him at deadline 2. Someone they wouldn't mind benching/moving/trading if Montgomery played well enough to get to MLB 3. Try to make sure they field a roster that wouldn't be historically bad Of course, it's hard to be too upset about the DeJong parts of the equation all things considered.
  10. The difference between his actual and expected production in '24 is not enough for me to strongly discount it in such a small sample size. Especially given his high pull rate this season, which tends to be a ticket for outperforming your expected stats.
  11. I'm not too mad about how this worked out, but part of the reason I wasn't enthused about DeJong is I never thought the signing had much more upside than this. He has never been a great player, he has flaws and continued to have those limitations in spite of rebuilding his value with the Sox. I'm not sure who else was out there and how they turned out, but my preferred reclamation projects are guys with something a little more substantial to reclaim
  12. Colas didn't have near the level of consensus that Vargas had from evaluators and also has little track record of good play. Colas has only tanked his value since his high watermark in the rankings. Vargas had a tough run in MLB, then killed AAA pitching, and has held his own in a second cup of coffee in MLB. And is younger with more positional versatility and by all accounts, doesn't have s%*# for brains like Colas.
  13. I assume Rosado had an injury shortly after his signing and then flopped upon his return as a starter. Hard to complain about his debut as a reliever. Old for the level but has minimal experience so it's not like it's a guy who has needed 200 innings to solve low-A.
  14. Yeah it's hard for me to criticize honestly, I don't think DeJong had much value at all so just getting anyone who is not going to be imminently released for poor performance is fine with me.
  15. 22 year old righty reliever dominating low-A. Okay, whatever
  16. Feeling like we're about to get cash considerations at this point
  17. Maybe it will be a straight swap of the teams' starting shortstops??
  18. per Rosenthal https://x.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/1818372833153565070 Jarold Rosado per DST
  19. Developmentally, losing the last month of the minor league season doesn't seem like the end of the world. But this does feel like a typically White Sox thing, though.
  20. Will be really surprised if DeJong is still on the team tonight, not that I could tell you which team would benefit from having him around.
  21. It's that White Sox Midas touch!
