Melvin with another great move. This guy will have this team turned completely around in the next couple years.
-
Sexon is moving on. The Sox should prioitize Kendall. Randy is nothing but a pipe dream at this point. For some odd reason, I invision the 2005 Sox with either Kevin Brown (just a hunch) on the roster or Vazquez. Pavano had a great meeting with the folks in Boston. He left feeling really appreciated and valued, and I think that is ultimately where he wants to end up. He grew up only a few hours away. We are not in the Pavano hunt, luckily, Kenny realized this early and has seemingly moved on.

As a backup to whom? Ben Davis!? Jamie Burke!? Yikes!

10. Finley- San Deigo, Los Angeles, San Fransico in that order, period 9. Radke- Please, this guy is a top-notch Free Agent (from from "value") 8. Lima- I still think he'll remain a Dodger; he'd get rocked in the AL 7. Cormier- Sure...why not 6. Mercker- Big fan of Kent; certainly someone to consider 5. Polanco- Should be #1 on this list; will probably be a RedBird 4. Kline- Already getting fitted for his pinstripes 3. Clement- Not a big fan; will contribute, but to what extent 2. Perez- Yes 1. Dave f***ing Dellucci- You have got to be kidding right? Watch out Cooperstown!

Don't know if you all have touched on this yet, but Gabe Kapler just agreed to terms with a Japanesse ball club. Yes, that's right. After winning the WS with the most storied franchise in the bigs, he is going to Japan; didn't see that one coming. Linky

Absolutely correct! I was stunned when I saw the $$$ the Mets gave him. Its absurd. #1 overall pick or not, he has not merited that type of deal at this point in his career, not even close.
-
Yeah Yeah, we can all read the Tribune. Busted. Offensive Coordinator for Oklahoma. Rest assured he'll receive a phone call. After Urban Meyer (Who is already suiting up for Gator Orange) he is the best candidate out there.

Kenny is going to have to get aggressive, and I have confidence that he will. If he pieces the right deal together, Kendall can still end up a Chicago White Stocking. He may overpay, but it still could get done.

Don't forget Jung-Kun Bong

Welcome Aboard! I say, why not? This would be a good PR move and it may pan out into an alright major leauge signing. These Korean guys tend to be fan favorites as well (Hee Seop).

For the last time!!! Finley will be signing on the West coast. That's all there is to it. His family lives in San Diego and he has gone on record saying that he wants to play close to his family. Around the trade deadline last year, he refused to go to any other team outside California. If he signs anywhere but San Diego, LA, or SF, I'll eat my hat.

Re-signed by San Fransico

Yeeeee-Haaaaaa!!! I think all of our "Firrr-eeee Turnnn-errrr" chants really paid off. This is great news. I don't care how nice of a guy he is; if you can't win in the Big Ten, you're gone. You Can put it on the boardddd....

I'm happy for Artest. You know what? I'm happy for him. Now, he'll have adequate time to record his rap album. I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait for this timless classic to hit stores. It is already being compared to epics such as: The Beatles' "The White Album", Pink Floyd's "The Wall", The Rolling Stone's "Let It Bleed" and the Bee Gee's "Odessa". Featuring hits such as: "I Smacked that Dorkey White Guy," "Don't Ya'll Be Throwing Ice At Me," "Detroit b**** City" and his hit-single "I'm a Coldcocker." I can't wait. That's #1 on my Christmas list.

I thought it might be time to bring this thread back... Seeing as our shortstop questions have yet to be answered, and with this new Nomar talk buzzing around, is Garciaparra a viable option? For you stat-hounds out there, what kind of contract is he looking for and would Kenny be willing to bite? I'm pro-Nomar in 2005.
-
My thoughts... Given time Munoz will be everything as advertised. As for Diaz, I think he can develop into a major leauge talent...time will tell on that one. I'm pro-Nomar in 2005.

Don't cheap out on this one Kenny, lets make it happen.

Just wanted to chime in and say my baseball source in Minny just told me the talks with Jose have just been "taken to the next level." I'm not sure what that means just yet...but it looks like Jose may be a twinkie in the not too distant future. They plan on using him as the DH, but also like the possibility that he can fill in nicely at SS when needed. He thinks that Jose will have a fair amount of starts at SS as well.

Hold on to the ball junior. Peyton won't make many mistakes. That was six. -

These Peyton Manning commercials are histarical; best commercials on tv. -
Ugly thread. This goes nicely with the Pacers/Pistons and the South Carolina/Clemson...sportsmanship is a dying breed.

Go Bears! Yeah never know. According to Peyton, we are the second best defense in the league. -
Walker is a butcher in the field. Wait, before you stat-hounds get out on this...I don't care what his defensive numbers are/were. Anyone that has watched this guy for an extended period of time, knows he isn;t good defensivly. With that said, I still think he would be a good pick up for this ballclub. If he came at this right price, I think he could be very productive for this team Plus, he'd take significant time away from Willie "MVP" Harris, so all of you know I'm down with that.

My thoughts... -Giving up Anderson is a bad move. Its a real bad move. BUT -And the White Sox welcome...Randy Johnson! -Are you kidding me? Its the Big Unit guys! I was thinking about this last night. Sportscenter opened with a story on the University of South Carolina. I'll let that sink in for a moment...South Carolina. When Spurrier decided to take the program after Holtz, that instantly put the Gamecocks on the map. They actually opened up Sportscenter. Could you imagine what Randy Johnson could do for this ballclub. It would be along the lines up Shaq going to Miami. We would be a national prescence, something we haven't been in quite a long time. The PR would go through the roof! Everyone would be talking about us as contenders. That sort of vibe is invalubale. You have my blessings Kenny. Would you do something to win now? "Yes." Would you do something to jeapordize the future? "Yes." Well, its one of those times.
