Again... Johnson is the only draw for the Diamondbacks. He is the only guy putting people in the seats. Unless Arizona is able to field a half-way decent team, with at least one or two main-event players, he won't be going anywhere. Besides, he didn't want to waive his clause around the deadline this year, what makes us think he'd be willing to now.

Does anyone else think Ozzie's takes on his pitchers from 04' are all right-on. He nailed each and every one of them. That makes me excited in and of itself, because I think Ozzie is a lot more together than we all think. He was a first year manager, he made some first year mistakes, yet, I think he will come back a better manager and more prepared for this season. Now, the Johnson thing. I don't know about you all, but I never thought we were going to get Freddy. We were "talked about," but no one in the media thought we were gonna snag him...the media thought he was halfway in New York pinstripes by the time they announced the Olivo/Reed deal. I think KW will try to put something together, the best he can...but, the Yankees, and probably some other teams will be doing the same. The only thing that makes me think the Sox are NOT the right fit is that the Diamondbacks said they want a catcher out of the deal. The Sox can't give them that at this point in time. Look for a Milton type, or Ortiz ( :puke ) for next year. Some player who is "known" around the league, but JR won't have to pay a boat-load for.

No thanks on both of these clowns. We have enough developmental projects. Wilson's coming off surguries amd Chacon was owned all year long. Plenty of other options out there...stay away from these two.

Roger Clemenses? Plural? No, no, my friend. There is only one Rocket. I'd argue no other starting pitcher in the league has the mound presence that Roger does (outside of Schilling and Johnson of course).

I am so excited about Anderson. BUT...that doesn't mean the Sox should go ahead and rush him. I'm a little worried about two guys. I'm worried that they are gonna rush Anderson, and I'm worried they are gonna rush Fields. I am really happy with the numbers Fields is putting up; I was worried that after handing off to Tatum Bell for a few years he would be a bust. Let's hope both Anderson and Fields are given ample time.
