MVP Baseball 2005
Is it just me or is bunting nearly impossible. I swear to you, I can't get a bunt down to save my life. They pull the bat back the second the ball gets to the plate. Despite being something like 39-5 on All-Star--or whatever is above pro--difficulty, I can't lay the f'ing bunt down.

White Sox Winner
/exhale Sox win at Yankee Stadium. /enter debate(s) I don't ever want to see another thread on this site questioning why the White Sox get no respect by the national sports media. Look no further than the ninth inning managerial decisions.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) I'm in total agreement with Ozzie's move. Politte has been, in my mind, the best righty reliever the Sox have had this year. Better than Hermy. Didn't work out. Oh well. Er, that, or Hermanson's back is flaring up. If it ain't. He's got some splaining' to do.

What are the odds a story emerges within the next 24 hours on an East-coast-based sports network about a very hospitable reception by Steinbrenner and the Yankees involving a trip the the clubhouse and some autographed baseball bats?

Luckily, George Steinbrenner has since paid $3M for the rights to this kid's story and has made him one of the happiest kids in the country.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) Do you know for a fact someone pushed him? You are in way over your head, champ. Give it a rest. Meanwhile, the Sox are in a 1-0 nailbiter with the New York Focking Yankees.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) Did anyone see a replay of the fall? Or how far he fell? Judging from my experience at the cell, and the distance to the net, he may have fell a good 20 ft. Thank god that netting is secure. Remember when I said there was something goofy in the air tonight Mr. Tizzle?

ESPN Insider - Griffey Interest
QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 10:06 AM) Would DH'ing full time have an adverse affect on Griffey's health? At least when he's playing the outfield, he can stay a little looser by running from time to time. If he's sitting on the bench warming up, then cooling down, he's more susceptable to injuries. That being said, I'd love to see a sweet swinging, healthy, lefty power hitter on the Sox. It would be a necessary evil. A) Aaron Rowand has done NOTHING to deserve a demotion of any kind B ) His future looks a lot like that of Frank Thomas'. If he really wants to stay around for a few more years, he's going to have to either DH in the AL or taking less at-bats in the NL because his legs simply can't take the grind anymore. He is no spring chicken.

Kenny Williams Injury Update
This is just great. Kenny injured HIMSELF--not one of his players--and he still doesn't want to disclose the details of the injury. This man TRULY flys under the radar. I heard he tore his biceps on the Silvy and Carmen show.

Bear Down
Not a big Mike Brown fan, but it's awfully nice seeing that 30 fly around again. EDIT: Creepy, you beat me to it by a second.
