  1. QUOTE(lord chas @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) bring up borchard now Butters has a point. At least Borchard can him some long-balls. Seeing as our belov'ed Sox have abondoned smart-ball or small-ball or Ozzie-ball, or whatever you'd like to call it, I think another HR threat would serve this team very well. If we choose to live and die with the long-ball once again, there is no better option within the organization than Mighty Joe.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Which was sooooo not deserved. Someone help.. didn't Garland start a few times for the Cubs at the major level..? Not even close.
  3. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) i just think that all this negativity is a great example of what almost 100 years blue balls will do to you. Priceless.
  4. After seeing guys like Matt Lawton traded for the likes of Jody Gerut, it's hard to believe Kenny couldn't scrape together a deal other than Geoff Blum. Make no mistake about it, I believe this team is better with Willie off the 25 man roster and Geoff has been one of the team's best hitters throughout the slump...but, there has got to be something out there. If it ain't Griffey, fine. But, it has to be someone. Let's get some new faces in here to shake things up because this offense needs a serious kick in the arse.
  5. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) This game should tell us a lot about our team. Agreed. A win tonight means a lot more confidence in a club that has just broken my heart the past couple of weeks.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) The collapse has already begun. These guys are scared at the plate. The collapse hath begun. No doubt about it. Beware.
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) thank god for mlb.tv if i would have missed this game, i would be furious ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  8. It's about this time the team starts to leave Freddy alone on the bench. C'mon big fella. We'll get ya a run.
  9. A scratch-and-claw run might make the difference tonight.
  10. Keep in mind this is Johan Santana, folks. That is all.
  11. Hats off to Jermaine Dye. That was absolutely stellar defense. Freddy, well, um, you just keep doing your thing.
  12. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) only noteworthy thing so far: paul konerko's facial hair was not to blame for his suckitude ...the big story here is Iguchi's inability to get the man over the past few weeks.
  13. This just in: In an attempt to become more streamlined, Paul Konerko is clean shaven.
  14. Gosh, it's rough listening to the Minny feed. Meh, it's still baseball. Let's get Ozuna in.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) If Garcia goes out and gives up his early runs as usual, this game might be over quickly. If? If? He'll give up 1 or 2 ER in the first two innings; then, he'll lock it down for another 6 or 7 only to give up another 1 or 2 ER in his last inning of work. Go kick some ass, Freddy! We need a few W's.
  16. ...one of my Soxtalk favorites Happy Birthday Big Man!!!
  17. ...a new, warm body in the lineup? I'm listening.
  18. QUOTE(WhiteSox311 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) is there any way to change a .bmp to a .jpg or a .jpeg and if so, how? I just do it in paint. But, a lot of times you lose the quality of the pic.
  19. Jose Valentin's numbers looked awfully good on paper too, didn't they? /end
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) BTW, It's Trimuph the insult comic dog talking to a storm trooper who was waiting in line to see the latest star wars flick... It went something like this: Triumph: Unknown question StormTrooper: Unknown answer, but he speaks in sticcato like sentences. Triumph: Do strormtroopers all talk like robots? -- [Triumphs Robot Voice] You Are A Huge Nerd. Great skit. Triumph: So, these buttons help you breath, huh? Triumph: Um, so which one of these buttons calls your mother to pick you up.
