  1. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) That's probably debatable Debatable in that he was rumored to be in the deal, or debatable in that he's not considered the one of the top prospects in the organization?
  2. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) If trade is for non top specs i am all for it. Actually, it was believed to center around the Top-of-the-top in Chris Young.
  3. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) I gotta be the first one to say it....72 wins on Fisk day = YESS! Life is good.
  4. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Pods, LF Iguchi, 2B Rowand, CF Konerko, DH AJ, C Dye, RF Crede, 3B Blum, 1B Uribe, SS Garcia, RHP When I made the lineup I wanted to see out there this morning, I never thought it would actually happen. I love it. Fine work by Ozzie. Shut em' down, Freddy.
  5. QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) Just a question...I'm not sure if it starts (as you would think) with the team with the worst record forward or what? Say, someone from the NL goes on waivers, the order goes from worst record to best record in the NL then from worst record to best record in the opposite league--or, in this case, the AL.
  6. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) no because i believe that when Shingo first came over here he talked about having dinner with Ichiro and when they played the mariners earlier this year their were some articles about how Shingo and Ichiro knew each other and were friends.This was from an article when during ST of 04.Link Alrighty. Well, something I am certain of is they never faced each other in Japan. There was a big to-do about them never facing each other.
  7. What ever happened to the Pittsburgh backstop? I know he was a very highly touted prospect in their organization, ranked first--if I'm not mistaken. Didn't they release him after that surgery? If so, did anyone claim him? Does he still have a shot at making it?
  8. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) I do know that Shingo and Ichiro were friends. Are you sure? If I remember correctly, Shingo said although they played in Japan, they played at different times or something to that end. I remember it being a pretty big deal when they met last year because I thought it was a first.
  9. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, shoot. I really hate seeing this. That little guy was hanging in there for so long. For him to be there at his dad's HOF induction when he was only given weeks to live was simply amazing. I'll never foget that induction for as long as I live. Prayers go out to the Kellys.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) Should this even qualify as a thread? Nothing was said here. Nothing at all. When the 10+ Iguchi/Ichiro stories are out, you'll be happy this thread is here. Go ahead, put them all here.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) When in Rome... I always say ...yes, go on.
  12. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) Theo Fluery has to be up there no? He drinks like Probey but only 1/3 the size... gotta admire that. Fluery cracked me up.
  13. My favorite hockey player of all time? It's a tough one... Bob Probert Stu Grimson
  14. Not a hockey/Hawks fan, but, this seems pretty big. Who knows, maybe I'll watch a game...or...two this season. Congrats on a big time signing!
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) Signing guys during the season can be a smart thing to do. If you have a young guy that is really doing well, and you think its going to be good for a while, sign him midseason for 5 or 6 seasons, and you can get him for a really good price. Is there arbitration? Are all the guys who have one year left on their contract going to go to free agency or does the game actually have arbitration?
  16. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) is this for MVP 2005 Franchise you talking about? 05' Dynasty. C'mon, man, it's an MVP 05' thread.
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) I can guarantee that all they did was reference this article from yesterday: http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-doug04.html "It's Spec-U-lationnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn"
  18. It's only a matter of time... Can we get an over/under?
  19. Two quick questions: Is it wise to re-sign guys during the season? I'm not sure how that works...is there arbitration? What do you have to do to build up a pitcher's stats? McCarthy, for example, has a stamina of 38, but I want to build that up so I can call him up in the near future. Is there anything I could do? Thanks.
  20. QUOTE(Nokona @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) B-Town hurting that much? honeslty guys, my two choices have come down to iowa and illinois. Any reasons as to why our very own U of I beats Iowa? I mean from word on the street Iowa's Bars > Illinois' +1 pt Hawkeyes. Illinois is ranked amongst the top four state schools in the nation; Iowa is amongst...the...um...they have kick ass bars!
  21. Holding a one run lead: that would be quite the test for young Bobby. I mean, I know he had a couple innings in the extra-innings mess in KC, but, this would be a nice test at home. Give him the eighth...what the hell. Let's see what we have here in 05.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) He's the DH, so we won't know until the lineup cycles through again. I'll bet we have a Timo sighting no matter what in the 7th or 8th inning when Everett's spot comes back up if we still have a lead, so I'm not sure I'd read too much into it until we get a full report. Mercy. That is one guy we can NOT afford to lose right now. Best case scenario, I think you're looking at Carl out of the line for at least two of the games against the M's.
  23. Guys, what's the deal with Carl? I just saw him go down, is he out of the game already? This could be bad news.
  24. I know we've done this one already, but, what the hell: "Misty Mountain Hop" Led Zeppelin
