Furcal is now a dodger
QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) Silvy has that wager with Carmen that if the Sox get Pierre, he will allow Bruce Levine to come into the studio and kick him in the groin. Irrespective of how childish it would be, it would be hilarious. Not quite a Sue Bird spanking bet but still pretty good

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) with the insurance I was thinking more of what if he gets another D.U.I. I'm not sure how much the players union would let a player sign a contract with a specific clause, and if he gets another D.U.I. it's going to be jail time yeah I guess there could be a Billy Joel situation. Maybe McCourt can hire him a personal chauffer

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) The thing about is that the Cubs can get raped in a deal for Pierre but the fans would still think that the deal is the best ever. Messageboard fans overrate prospects, radio callers severely underrate them. Kind of weird

QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 11:21 PM) You have a magic crystal ball? Anything can happen. True but If I had to rank players as far as likelihood of serious injury, he'd not be in the top 90 percent of my list. Maybe a jammed shoulder as a base stealer but I bet he's healthy for awhile

Furcal is now a dodger
Furcal won't get hurt anyways so I don't think the insurance is going to be necessary later

Furcal is now a dodger
Doesn't that make Izturis not all that valuable? I mean, wasn't his value predicated on his gold glove d at a premium position?

QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) What are the odds of KW getting Pierre, are they better, or worse now that Furcal isnt going to the Cubs? Probably worse but maybe he still makes the deal

QUOTE(3E8 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) Worst contract this offseason? I think its a fair contract. A lot of money but not too many years. He is a special player in my opinion. What do they do with Izturis now?

Manny for Soriano??
Sori won't play outfield so this would kill the Loretta deal. I don't buy this at all though. I don't think they will work out the money just like last time

Congress to look into 'deeply flawed' BCS
You know what argument is never really made, or at least not very often: THere will still be controversy. Whether its a 4 game playoff, an 8 game or a 16 people will still b****. Hell, basketball has 64 and the lead story in sports than night is who got snubbed. Yes a playoff will take controversy away from who the champ is, but the process will still have controversy

Official College Football Thread
Yeah he'd be a good fit as a Tatum Bell with a few more carries and heavy involvement in the passing game. If I'm the Jets, I love the idea of Martin and Bush in my backfield. In SanFran, there won't be that luxury

JUAN PIERRE
I have finally come around on Pierre. I like the idea of 130 steals in the first two spots. Lets go get him
-
What did Bruce Levine speculate on ?
Joe might struggle to hit 200 if his back is that bad. Look at what a bad back did to David Bell. I hope we get Muller as insurance although I have a hard time believing he'll come here

Ahh I'm born anew in the genius of Reggie Bush. Never seen a player quite like him
-
first thome ad
If we got Pierre, still a possibility how about a 4 man ad with 4 faces. On the left you'd have Thome and Konerko with THunder written underneath and on the right you'd have Pods and Pierre with lightning underneath. Just a thought

Pretty funny poll
A new weird one. The state of Louisiana is 53 percent in favor of picking USC to lose to UCLA. WTF?
-
David Wells
How dumb is it to trade for Wells if you could have jsut signed him again a year ago? Who is this? Carl Everett?
-
Yankees & Phillies
Oh the Orioles. They are the AL Mets aren't they? You gotta figure that Washburn ends up in Detroit with Burnett in Toronto or St Louie so the O's better figure out something. Trading for Benson (delaign away Julio in the process) isnt enough
-
Castillo to the Twins
I'd take Aquino if I were the Marlins. He might be able to close if healthy. Lohse ends up in Philly maybe? Where doe she go? The Giants? Not old enough?
-
ESPNews Reports
Actually Morris' fastball and curveball were btter last year because he had a healthier shoulder. In 04 he really lost velocity. The Giants would be lucky to have him
-
Castillo to the Twins
Ahh D-Backs. Good call. Makes a lot of sense

Congress to look into 'deeply flawed' BCS
Congress should worry less about Iraq and Hurricane Katrina and poverty in this country and more about whether Penn State or LSU steps in to face USC if Texas loses this weekend. Right. Jesus Christ. Sometimes I'm just embarrassed about this country

Pretty funny poll
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 05:23 PM) Were these mo'fo's wrong or what... http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation...tion12234=50585 I was also wrong about the number of games but not the pitching. What part of 4 straight complete games heading into the Series did they not understand? Oh yeah I forgot. They had Clemens and Pettitte. And they pitched for the YANKS and the SAWX. Idiots

Castillo to the Twins
I think Lo Duca could be gone but you gott afigure his fate is tied to Molina and Hernandez with what teams like the Mets decide to do at catcher. Maybe he goes back to the Dodgers with their new management?
