well someone wanted bmac for ron villone so "wanting" ain't enough. I have no idea how to resolve our curretn situation. IF, Orlando will take a bullpen spot then everything is kosher but I don't think he'd be real happy with that.
-
actually Balta that would be 11.5 million as the marlins will pay 7 million over the next 2-3 years. I don't think it was a terrible risk for the Marlins to take. They tookk a shot at winning it all and they came up short. THey gave Miggy some protection-and now he won't have anything which is unfortunate for a budding megastar. While the Mets are paying a lot here in terms of money, and possibly throwing Billy Wagner 40 million is a TON of money, they are rich with their new tv channel and can afford this stuff. If they go out and get Ramon Hernandez and can do something in front of Wagner, we have a legitimate contender here( if only for ONE year)

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) NOTHING has been decided yet by the arbitrator though. right but noon wednesday was the supposed timetable so this makes sense. Will he clear waivers first so nobody absorbs his contract? I hope my Broncos don't sign him. I don't want to mess with a good thing

a lot of you guys vastly underrate Blalock. I think he obviously has some kinks and could stand to fall less in love with the fences but he's a great fielder and will be a terrific player for a long time. He's still very young

I didn't take the Crede. I already have him on a card and I'm not a Crede fan so it didn't appeal to me, even if it was a relative bargain. If they weren't out of Pods tickets I would have taken that exchange. I took the Crede ticket and sold it to a woman behind me for $40 so she got the deal.

If we could sign Mueller and use Crede (a Boras client) as trade-bait for Jim Thome, sign me up

I think you guys are way wrong. A steal for the Sox. If this were a fantasy trade, all the other owners would vote it down. This is bulls*** and I'm really pissed about it. Its one thing when the Yanks and the Sawx buy talent via FA but when they buy it like this it upsets me more. f***

My money is on the St. Louis Cardinals as the mystery team. They will use Lowell in left, bench or spin him. I'd bet on them to be involved as they were the surprise of the Burnett sweepstakes so you know they have interest in a power pitcher and want to spend more money than most had thought

Charlie Steiner interested in White Sox job

"follow me....follow me to freedom!!!!" -
It said he had a family emergency and I have no idea of the validity in that. But once is one thing and twice could be a pattern. I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to this day. Got a Terrell Davis autograph from a dealer so that helps a little bit

Freddy Garcia cancelled. I'm not real happy
-
Usually, the guys are paid for time and not per autograph. It will be something like 15K for 2 hours or something like that. There is no way in my mind that Pods gets to 1500 so if they sell that many, they must have agreed to go overtime already. Thats a lot of money for Joe F'n Crede by the way

Blockbuster Move -- Boston & Florida
Punch and Judy Garland replied to nitetrain8601's topic in The Diamond Club
I really like Hank Blalock and Larry Beinfest is one of the five best Gm's in the sport, but you CANT trade Beckett. He has had health issues but he can win you a ring. They will rue the day they let this guy go. This is a no-brainer for pitchign-starved Texas. Danks and Diamond will likely both be good but Beckettology is a number one starter -
wilder to interview for boston's gm job
Punch and Judy Garland replied to thedoctor's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Off memory ( a bad one sometimes) I thought KW was up after this coming season but I don't really know. Lets hope Wilder gets it. He deserves a look and you should root for organization guys to get a chance to lead elsewhere even if selfishly you want them to stay -
Classic Bob Knight

I love the General. Not ashamed to say it one bit -
too early to say about the Everett deals. Obviously they worked as our goals were to win a ring. I still be Frankie Francisco will be a superstud, if not in baseball then in the wwe

I'm not a Bears fan so I don't mind missing, although this game is intriguing, but I am sorta ticked about not getting to see Cinci-Indi.Hey at least its only regular season and you don't miss playoff games like soxfest attendees do. I love the Sox but I don't know how you can miss playoff games

No. I think my brother is gonna get Jenks so we'll be able to each only go through one line. I kinda think Jenks will have the biggest line of the day because he's cheap, on the Championship photos on the mound, and because most people haven;t gotten him yet.

who do you start?
Punch and Judy Garland replied to Punch and Judy Garland's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
Bulger. Arizona sucks and Hasselbeck my get hurt by 3 Alexander TD's. Bulger is probably the only must start guy in the league besides Manning at the QB position. He gets yards and completions and I think he'll hit the endzone 3 times this weekend -
who do you start?
Punch and Judy Garland replied to Punch and Judy Garland's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
Anyone else getting cold feet about picking Tommy Maddox on the road this weekend given that the Ravens hung tough in their MNF matchup in Pitt? I think I;'m starting to think the Ravens make one last stand here -
Nobody seems to be mentioning the price. I think that it would be super high. I think they'd ask for Buehrle and B-Mac. There would be a TON of teams lining up to get him. Thats my issue with oogling over that lineup. If we keep that lineup intact then we will be trading away half our rotation to get him.
-
Believe me, these prices are steals given what the landscape will now be given that they are champions. Outside of soxfest (which is even tougher to go to now) you will see fewer free signings than before because there will be demand too. If our team gets much more popular, they may even alter soxfest's autograph situation. I expect HIGH demand and long lines on Sunday. They go by numbers so if you get a low number for one then you have a shot at another. I personally feel getting all three is goign to be impossible but getting two should be doable but not a lock. Its going to be a pretty neat event, probably a ton of Sox championship stuff to be seen

Donovan out for the year...
Punch and Judy Garland replied to Steff's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I don't like Donovan for some reason. Even though he's a Chicago guy-doesn't it seem like he's not really any more liked here than elsewhere?
