Pujols, the game's greatest player.
-
Who did you want to bring in that would be a better pitcher than Carpenter? Really, who?
-
Pitch counts don't mena that much in the postseason. We've extended guys to that point plenty
-
I would have left him in. He's your ace. It's not like there is a 7th inning guy better off to face switch-hitting Berkman
-
Yeah he bailed on the bad hold and it cost him

I was a guy who looked at results last year and though Coop whould be fired. Needless to say, that was short-sighted and I'm happy to see how wrong I was. Now Greg Walker.....

Has anyone ever had more rbi then hits?

Nice list Hammer. I never would have thought of Buhner. -

My two guesses were Juan Gone and Hack Wilson. Neither did it. Big Mac did in 99 though by 2. Darn near did it the year before too. Not sure of any others -
Who would you rather see win the NLCS?

I love the Cards wo I will root for them. If Thomas and Bagwell were both healthy then I'd love to see them face off for a ring because of all the similarities and all. I love Baggs, Biggio, and Oswalt but I am a Cardinal fan. At least if the Cards win then I can be assured of watching the Series. If the Sox and Cards get bounced I will be in a bad mood for a while........unless the Broncos beat the Pats this week! -
Has Crazy Carl had a RISP since the playoffs started? It doesn't really feel like it. I couldn't think of many opps anyways. WHich is to say, he's a nightmarish guy to have with the bases empty because he doesn't have too much power and he can't run.

This is outstanding news for Freddy and his family. Also, froma selfish White Sox perspective-it means Freddy doesn't have to make a brutally tough choice that he would have had to make if the baby girl were to be born 2-3 days later. Congrats again. Hopefully Sophia can be one of the first Chicago babies of a new era (won't say it)

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 12, 2005 -> 09:56 PM) Boards of all teams are criticizing the call, and with good reason. The umpire called him out. You can diagnose this for hours, but the fact remains, the White Sox and Angels are tied at 1. Period. I don't know, I mean, when I look at the espn ticker it says 2-1 final. Maybe you should phone your congressman? -
AND THATS A WHITE SOX PLAYOFF WINNER

Marky is an ace, a few bad outings doesn't make less of a man out of you. Anyways, the Angel pen was terrific again. I have no idea why Donnelly only got 1/3 of an inning but we might not hit Shields all series and Escobar is still nasty. This game will be remembered for the call but now we can go into Anaheim on a good feeling and knowing that we don't have to win 2 to survive. 2 would be sweet though.... -

How can you reasonably blame Paul if you are an Angels fan. THat's just bad talk radio blame -
We had an illegal slide that mirrored the Cabrera slide last night too.

I think our West Coast problems won't carry over to the postseason. It's a drag to go there during a long year, plus we get more rest during the playoffs than you get during the regular year. I don't sweat goign West more than I would if we headed East

Anywhere on the net to watch the game/ I don't get FX-I'm worried -
Guys...as fucked up as this game was...

You apparently watched a different game then me. Oh well, let's hope Marky throws a game that we can all agree on as being great tomorrow -

YASNY, you cannot-cannot-cannot call Jose's performance anything less than stellar. 8 1/3 3 runs with fewer baserunners than IP? Great outing. Unfortunately, the Angels did a great job of executing against us. It's hard for Jose to pitch shutouts because he is so easy to steal on so if a team decently executes once or twice-there will be a couple of runs. Jose has pitched his way on to the untradeable list of the Sox-$9 million in salary be damned -

Don't listen to anone who calls tomorrow a must-win-they don't know what they are talking about. That said, things get dicey if we lose so its a big game. I think the Hurly-Buehrle man comes up big and we win a close one. One thing that worries/intrigues me is that with the winds and the tough pitching tonight-there were a lot of snorts and jamshots that did not fall that may tomorrow. Those could lead to big innings for either team -
Since I don't get FX in Carbondale, last year in the same siutation they put the game on Fox Sports Midwest. WHile it could be different this year, don't be surprised to see it on fsn

I was SURE that was gone. Looks like playing for the homer is a bad move in the last two innings. We look dumb getting thrown out but we probably should stay aggressive -

Wasn't that a great line about Ozzie about not being a curse but horses*** teams? Even when I wonder what the hell he is doing, I acknowledge that he is a joy to listen to and to read
