Who can't love this Pedro renaissance? It's great

The Marlins need Delgado more than Lee. They desperately needed left-handed thunder.

GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
Punch and Judy Garland replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in 2005 Season in Review
Some have defended timo's one handed s*** saying he never drops one but his lazy back hand cost us two runs. RELEASE TIMO -
With Hanson and Pelfrey off the board, the Mets are scrambling a bit. They have a recent interest in 5-tool players at the High School level which means Bruce will be in the mix. They also could use pitching but there is not a lot of Townsend buzz with them. They could look at Zimmerman but I think with David Wright they will be slightly discouraged from doing so. Instead, I am going out on a limb saying with the departure of Jason Phillips and the rapid decline of Mike Piazza that the Mets will select SC Catcher Jeff Clement at nine overall.

I think they will move Marte to left ala Miggy cabrera because Chipper is their best player and his hammy's won't hold in left.

This is completely off-topic but doesn't that clip on comcast of Kittle sayign he's one of the strongest players to ever play the game sound pretty blowbaggish? I mean, I know he hit a rooftop shot but that doesn't make him Paul Bunyan either

Seeing how Sean Casey is more popular and had it first, I think he needs a different one. I only have listened to the explanation , something about "running" the bases. I voted Podzilla but why not call him the President, or if that's too close to El Presidente then why not the Governor. I dunno

The Arizona Dimondbacks pick is in. It may not be sexy but we have selected Justin Upton, HS Shortstop.

Soxtalk Mock 1st Round Signups
Punch and Judy Garland replied to danman31's topic in FutureSox Board
Do we have a day picked Danman? Is it Sunday? Just curious. The Weaver/Drew thing has sort of shaken things up a bit now that they signed. I wonder if there is a backstage deal for a Boras client underway at #1 instead of Upton -
Should have been the 2000 manager of the year. His Ghandi ways would have worked nicely with the young kids. Maybe good old JM will get a shot with cinci when Miley gets fired. I think he was in the running when Miley got the job.

I nearly question the idea that every moron can have his opinion after reading redandwhite's moronic posts but I guess I'm not always int he majority so its better off having stupid things said by supposed fans than not said at all. If you want to question Ozzie moves, fine and most will agree with you on some, but if you want to make asinine generalizations then you should intern for Moronotti and leave us alone.

Sounds to me, no matter the spin, like Weaver and Drew both took less (or equal in Drew's case) to their highest offer beforehand. This "cave-in" was likely done to protect Hochevar and Pelfrey as well as the fact that they wouldn't have individually done any better

do you think Garland will win over 20 game
Punch and Judy Garland replied to soxman35's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Guessing over 20 is pretty foolish imo. It just doesn't happen too often. -
With Big Frank coming off the DL I need to drop a guy. The candidates to drop are Ugie Urbina (my 4th closer), Luis Castillo, Felipe Lopez (riding him nicely now), and Craig Biggio. Not real thrilled with dropping any of those guys. To get a roster spot I am thinking of packaging Castillo and Urbina (losing his job soon) for Richie Sexson. I currently have just Nick Johnson at first. My offense has been nice lately but I am looking forward to using the Big Man at Utility next week and wondered if you think this is a fair trade. He needs a closer and has Lugo as his second-bagger. Thanks as always.

just got back from the ballgame
Punch and Judy Garland replied to peanut33tillman's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Yeah, Texas has a Boston 04 quality at the moment where they really wear you out 1 thru 9 and it feels like there is never a break. The biggest reason for that isn't so much Teixera but Sori. At least when he's in a funk you have an easy out but he can be a catalyst too. -
Soxtalk Mock 1st Round Signups
Punch and Judy Garland replied to danman31's topic in FutureSox Board
Palehose can have it, no problem by me. I can't handle that sort of pressure -
There was a very recent case where a guy was ejected and then the calll was reversed. In the bigs this season and I can't for the life of me think of who. Maybe a manager though

Former Sox Player D. Jimenez
Punch and Judy Garland replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in The Diamond Club
Surprised nobody mentioned the biggest knock against D-Ang as far as quotes go. Before we got him, maybe this was a red flag, Ryan Klesko called him the laziest player he'd ever played with in ten years. -
Vernon Wells on the trading block?
Punch and Judy Garland replied to Jabroni's topic in The Diamond Club
I'd take vernon over Aaron. Vernon had a slow start last year. He had an awful April and then hammered the ball in May. THis year, he has hit 60 points better in May. It's sort of ti-for-tat though to trade the two -

If you can land me the Mets I can vacate the Twins to someone with deeper knowledge -

I'd love the Mets at 9 if that's ok -

We may not get 26, but we can probably get most of the way there. Since it is just one round, it could even be at a slower pace like the course of one night as opposed to in just onehour or something. How do you feel about random team assignments? Would that be better than calling dibs? Curious what you think -
I will never vote for a Republican but at least Rudy is on board with protecting abortion rights and gun control so he's the one I could most live with from that side. The Republicans aren't going to want him to run though.

Where do you get that Uribe starts slow and always turns it on? Not buying it. He's a guy who was awesome at the start of last year and then was just awful before having one more good month. I don't think he fits your argument at all.

Let's do it Danman. We should have one on the board here where everyone picks a team. Immitation is flattery after all. Any ideas on how to get he ball rolling? I'd love to participate
