  1. Bill did get hurt in St. Louis as his foot went under the padding along the third base side. THe CUbs returned the favor the next year by having the worst field conditions of all time which led to Eli Marrero severely spraining his ankle at The Urinal
  2. Upon actually checking I see that it goes Santana, Myers, and then Peavy/Pedro tied but Pedro goes tonight along with Santana
  3. I bet El Pedro is leading the league but Peavy is my CY choice right now
  4. The Cubs couldn't bother to drive him there? Jeez. That just seems stupid unless its completely insignificant
  5. I wonder if they even x-rayed it yet. There was a ton of swelling. Still, remember that they disperse injury info as accurate as the Iraqi Information Minister used to so I'll take positive or negative information with a grain of salt
  6. Part of the reason that there are 7 pages is that we all get this game, the radio stations that talk about it, and there is nothing else on tv on a Friday afternoon!
  7. BTW, I'd like to add that there is no known solution for Coors Field but they need to start by moving the fences back in
  8. I've been afraid of that Colorado series for us for a few weeks now. That's the type of place that gets in your head and can screw you up for awhile. As far as their bad record, I really believe that pitchers get messed up there and do worse on the road. Think about it, when you have to change your mechanics and your mentality so much-you can't just flip the switch on the road. That's why guys like Mike Hampton were even worse on the road. Just a hellhole to pitch in and away from until you are gone for good.
  9. Levine said nothing of consequence on espnews so I'm not sure if he would have indicated more ont he radio unless he felt it was easier to guess on that medium. He refused to speculate on a break.
  10. I care about good people. I felt bad when Joe Maure went down because he is such a nice person. I refuse to feel badly for a guy who is a jerk. I didn't say he deserved a broken elbow though
  11. I don't understand why we are supposed to feel badly for the Messiah. He's a dickhead anyways
  12. Remember that Roger Clemens had a brutal spring and that Andruw Jones convinced people he was going to hit 50 homers. Numbers before the season usually mean nothing. I think it's all about feel right now.
  13. I don't get the Rauch career over part of the thread. It sounded to me from what I read like they anticipate him back in two months and that the tear isn't that severe. I think it came one day after he pitched. Kip Wells has been terrific this year. Not sure the Duke is any better than him
  14. It was nto above the elbow, the welt looked like it was right on it. He was in tears coming off. I was facing him in fantasy baseball so I lucked out here.
  15. The Reds like Austin Kearns. Crede and a prospect aren't getting that done
  16. I think a few posters are misjudging parts of this thread as a Borch lovefest. It isn't. It's just pointing that a guy who struggles as much as Borchard is still more valuable than a dog like Timo.
  17. Well Everett and Crede may not be here but Dead ain't going anywhere
  18. 0 for 7 pinch hits is a small smaple size but remember that those are 7 chances to do something in KEY SPOTS. He has failed very time. Perhaps its time to ignore the romantic 246 season he had last year and realize he's giving us nothing right now!
  19. I am not sold on Konerko yet. Far too many less than two outs and RISP sitiuations he has bungled for me to get excited about ten games.
  20. This might sound stupid but I'd Take Joe Borc-K-ard over Perez. At least with Borch pinch hitting he's still going to give you that one hundred something average but a chance to park a ball. I've never seen someone get as much mileage off of 2-3 clutch hits as Timo did last year. He got a million bucks and a roster spot despite sucking. Why is he still here? This might be an Andrew Gannon situation.
  21. Perhaps it is an error to blame it on Walker but it's also an error to say (you didn't actually) that it isn't his fault. Fans clearly don't really know much about hitting coaches or pitching coaches but it's a results business and guys aren't hitting. I'd say that whether we won or lost. We need to start scoring a bit more.
  22. I'm going to gag when Kenny is in the booth. I still find it funny that he was admonished in the pressbox for cheering. Big no-no
