  1. Well brazelton ws a top 4 pick in the draft and there is no question tha tthe talent is there. When you walk as many or more than you fan with his stuff then there is a problem. Danny cabrera had the same problem a year ago and has since greatly improved so I still think Dewon's future is bright, be it in Tampa or elsewhere.
  2. I am in favor of keeping Count through the year. A lot of people seem to liek Adrian gonzalez but I'm not that impressed with him. Doesn't seem to have the power you'd want as a first-baseman.
  3. THe two teams that have had long itnerest are Arizona and FLorida who are both contenders so it's hard to imagine a fair trade.
  4. when does the price drop on extra inning again?
  5. I agree that they can go to the SB without him but not sure if they can win it with or without him. Depends on who they play I guess. The NFC swoon continues this year though so I expect them back
  6. I bet he's released by June 10th but does give us some immediate depth. I hate picking up former Cub journeymen though
  7. as a hitter Mike Hampton>>>>>Timo Perez
  8. some are really good at using their problems in humor while others don't really turn it around (martin lawrence)
  9. It is very interesting given how big of a deal people made about the rarity of the Honel pick since he was from Illinois.
  10. Isn't Gonz pretty young? I wouldn't see then moving him but who knows. Being that he's in a walk year and that this is a special season I don't buy the "we're dreaming" reasoning that would normally apply to fantasy trades
  11. I just don't see any good options out there (yet anyways). Unfortunately, other teams will see that and the price on Wagner will be very large.
  12. Yeah it is. The pressure the pressure to perform for millions is no doubt hard to bear. Hopefully he rests and comes back when he's ready
  13. My point is that if we won the World Series that we might have the dollars to keep him.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 11, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) We are not gonna pay a closer more than 3/5 of our rotation. I don't care how good he is i don't want to pay a closer 8+ million. Why not? There are a ton of teams in the bigs now that wish they had Billy Wagner as their closer, even at these dollars.
  15. how do you upload an audio clip onto the site. I'd like to do that.
  16. congrats on finishing. Just because most everyone does it doesn't mean it's not something to be extremely proud of.
  17. You might notice that many lineups (or better ones) in the AL are very loaded with lefty bats (Angels, Twins, Indians, Oakland). Plus, Wagner is so good against righties that you can use him against the heart of a right-handed order without blinking. I am stunned that there is a lot of debate about giving up prospects for a guiy like this. Hell, extend his deal if you want to also.
  18. I don't think it will be that close, I think once Fins gets going that the Angel O will help out that staff and cruise to a 7-8 game division win
  19. Billy Wagner is no question mark. He's a top 5 closer and if we get him and Hermanson is our 8th inning guy with Marte/Shingo/Viz/Politte taking the 7th and part of the 8th-we'll be playing 6 inning games and we'll be a legit World Series threat.
  20. Check out potential lineups on BA. I am almost embarrassed to say that I would root for Venezuela or the Dr over the US> A Maggs/Ozzie renuion would be fascinating
  21. Walks really are contagious and Contreras gave that illness to Marte, Viz, Duque (he already had it) and then to Hermy.
  22. He might do it for a year. It's an active job and his aforementioned relationship with Ozzie could help. I think a catcher for a bench coach also makes a lot of sense
  23. Tony would make for a great bench coach
  24. What has happened to Shngo is reminiscent of Hasegawa last year where command just went away.
