  1. I disagree. WHen you are a superstar you can't get yourself thrown out in a key spot. The oldest trick in the books in the playoffs is to try to get under the skin of a star player and get him to hit you. Pierce was stupid enough to fall for Tinsely's trick.
  2. I saw cesar Carillo on the hotlist the other day. THe Miami pitcher is a MT Carmel guy I think and is now 22-0 lifetime at Miami. Best of all, he said he's a White Sox fan! Where is he supposed to go int he draft. I know we don't have a #2 so we likely can't get him unless we reach at #15. Just curious what his draft prospects are
  3. I selfishly want him to stay but he is a father so I hope that he makes lots of money for his family whether it's this year or next year
  4. Paul Pierce went out like a thug. I can't believe I used to like this guy
  5. We were awful at the bginning of 03 until June but everyone says we always start hot and fade. It's just not remotely true. Now have we blown small leads in August and September? Well......
  6. WIlson valdez, Pedro Lopez. Not a whole heck of a lot of guys. Maybe Jamie Burke if they went in another direction
  7. Frank never gets his share of at bats in those June and summer interleague trips so I hope he doesn't come back at a time when all he can do is pinch hit. I miss him and can't wait to go to the Cell to see him though
  8. At least with familiar teams. We still need to gain that feeling by beating teams from the West and the East. I do agree that every game int he Cnetral has that feel now. Good tests coming up.
  9. It costs Comedy Central an end of sweeps premiere. Here's ebtting they go July now to hit those sweeps if they can
  10. You are right Jim, the only reason you make a move now is out of desperate need or a deal that you just are dying to make. Getting Graffs is a "nice" move that can wait a few months
  11. There isn't a lot of heat between the Sox and Royals so I don't thinkt he division will get int he way. It's not like the D-Rays helping out the Yanks. If Baird thinks he can get a solid prospect form us, I think he'd have to do it. I really believe that the gm's and owners in this division root for the representative inthe playoffs as they constantly hear about how bad the AL Central is. I thinkthe Central resembles a collegiate Conference in that regard
  12. I can't see anyone stoppign St. Luois from going to the World Series. Really. The Braves have had a bad playoff record lately and the West is weak so it might come down to the Marlins.
  13. Duhon an all-rookie first team? Over who? Maybe Deng but I would have taken Josh Smith over Deng.
  14. Thanks for the linking help. I still can't get over it!
  15. QUOTE(upnorthsox @ May 5, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) I don't mind upgrading Ozuna but not with that bible thumper, IMO he burned bridges on the way out. There's other ute guys out there and it's not a pressing issue. Apparently not with the guy that matters though. I think that if we are going to contend for a World Series then we'll need another veteran like Graffs. Now, I would understand wanting Ozuna over Graffanino but you'd have a hard time convincing me that you'd rather have Pablo in a pressure packed playoff game
  16. It might be down the road. I think Tony would trade playing time to go from a team winning 50 to a team winning 90 games. I'd welcome him back if he'd play a similar role to the past.
  17. How do I e-mail this to someone without linking them to here? Not sure how to do that. THanks
  18. I'm an RT students so I felt for him but that was a classic!
  19. Last year Cattalanatto and Zaun absolutely murdered us. LEt's hope we can get those guys out. THey don't have the big man in the middle this year and we don't have to face Doc so hopefully we take card of bidnuss
  20. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 5, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) Boom goes the dynamite? LOL. WHere did that come from by the way? I heard Neil Everrett say it tonight and I thought I read Waddle says it. Is this like a new bit?
  21. Too bad for a guy who steve stone says is one of the greatest people in the game. Hopefully he's back soon and hitting three run homers.
  22. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 5, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) You have been here for 3 days. Don't tell someone with over 1400+ posts what he has or hasnt seen in this forum. I am also very, very sick of the ESPN bulls*** people continue to b**** about. Give it up. All these clowns on ESPN have most likely seen 6+ innings of White Sox Baseball, yet, some of us on this site seem to think they know more about this team then we do. WHO CARES, just enjoy the Sox while this lasts, and have a good time while doing it. COuldn't have said it any better. Listen, I kow a fan site is goign to go deeper into subjects than you would normally get just watching the team and reading the paper. We all know that-which is why we come here. Maybe we get TOO deep into things by starting a huge thread over every single mention on any site or show.
  23. I'm pretty sure if this espn paranoia and the attendance crap keeps up I am gonna have to live in the other forums. This needs to stop. It's pretty pathetic on a team playing this good to keep talking about this crap. I used to think that Red Sox fans and Yankee fans and Cub fans were full of themselves but it looks like we want to give them a run for their money
  24. too bad the Brew Crew doesn't still have Sexson wo that the Cubs would win a game against Milwaukee!
