I don't think they will rebuild because it is just too hard for them to do it in less than 5 years. If they continue to struggle, I think the only guys (besides the dead weight ones) that they would consider moving are gordon, Matsui (if contract negotiations contineu to stall), Sheffield (if they want to get out of next eyars money), and Ricera (although I kind of doubt they'd really think about it).

Who do you love?

I already have four relievers. I just want extra wins. MY league is 12 teams so the pickings are slim -
Turnbow could be the next Mike Macdougal. Maybe he's going to be better than that but it's hard to draw conclusions about meteoric closers

Hispanic players hit hard by steroid suspension

I agree with Gamms that the union is failing latin players due to a lack of communication about this stuff. I'm not saying these players were necessarily unaware of what they were doing but the union needs to increase education so that the ignorance excuse doesn't work. Or perhaps they like to afford their players that excuse. Could be -

I like Hawk but his lack of knowledge about the other teams players and the National League is embarrassing for a guy paid to know about baseball. Still, the uh-oh has become so bad that I love it. He should either bring back the bye-bye or come up with an obnoxiously loveable pharse like "buh-bye" in a David Spade voice or "see ya-wouldn't want to be ya". The hokier the better -
I need some waiver wire advice. I currently havWoody Williams who has been decent outside of his first start. I like Woody and he does pitch at petco but the upside isn't spectacular. Should I drop him for the returning Kris benson? seems like they are pretty similar but would like your thoughts. I have a loaded rotation and they compete for my 6th starter spot behind Penny-Pedro-Schmidt-halladay-Oswalt (not a lot of big name son offense)

Carlos Lee=cub killer. Gotta love it

Around The Majors

Nakamura is a visually interesting hitter but I don't think he'll hit in the bigs. Tough break for Chico Valentin and I hope he's ok. Aybar is an interesting prospect too. I guess they want to handle uber-prospect Joel guzman with kid gloves for the moment. BTW Sleepy, throw out Morris' 04 splits because he gutted it out hurt. He's healthy and has more pop on his fastball and bite on his curve than he's had in years. Inside, he's still a 22 game winner that he was and is arm is finally coming around to match his fortitude. -
SI: Buehrle #2 young pitcher in baseball
Punch and Judy Garland replied to Balta1701's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's weird because Zambrano, much like Wood and Prior, is clearly more talented than Buehrle but I'd take Buehrle over Zambrano because I'd know what I'm getting. I still believe int he stats that show injuries for pitchers with rapid increases in pitch count slike Carlos'., Not sure if it;s applicable a few years after the increase but I wouldn't trust his arm with Dusty's care. I do love Mark though and hope he's a White Sox pitcher for a very long time. I'd actually have no problem with signing him to a 5-6 year deal as a huge exception to managements policy. THis of course wouldn't need to be done for a few years -

I believe that Peavy is one of the two best pitchers in the game with Johna being the other. You can't argue against Myers unless you argue against Garland. Both were beneath their potential until great starts this year -
He hit 308 and was one of the bright spots on the most disappointing white sox team in my life. He was the least of our problems

I still don't get why people were upset about that. I don't begrudge a guy for hanging it up and it's not like we were in the realm of contention

Because Mummy and Daddy are rich? Wrigley isn't a stadium, it's a bar. Just not as high up as The Upper Deck at Comiskey on a Monday or Tuesday. One of the world's tallest bars!

Forgot about them for some reason. I was pro-Contreras and anti-Pierz.

I was pro Gooch, Duke, against Pods/Viz, and more or less neutral on Herm and Dye. I was one who was really hoping to move Konerko instead of Lee and was hoping it would be for Luis Castillo which didn't materialize

Yeah I'm not a big racing fan but I watch the Derby every year. It gives you that old time America feel to a time that I never knew. Plus, you get that optimism of learning the winner's name and rooting for him at the Preakness -
AZ picks first, I think they go with Gordon and then KC would take Upton but we'll see if they have to draft a cheaper player

I would really say the exact opposite but it's hard to say because there are plenty of cases of it happening both ways

QUOTE(rudylaw @ May 3, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Kruk is a fat, one nut retard who has no busines talking about bad defense. The entire BBTN crew is retarded. Ahh cancer put downs, this place is all class!

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 3, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Imagine once Gooch goes threw the league again. He is still seeing these pitchers for the first time. I love Iggy. works both ways though.....

How about DJ does a Vin Scully?

Obviously Maggs issue is health so it's not worth getting into but one thing to keep in mind is that theother two switched legaues. I know that didn't botehr Valentin much at the start so it is not applicable so much (congrats to him for finally getting a hit on the board tonight) but the league switch is definitely what is hurting Lee. He won't hit 228 all year though and he was back to his cub-killing ways tonight. I don't understand why people want to cash in on all of their "I told you so's" in April and early May.

the market is out of control. I really wonder what a Garland would command but then I wonder how a garland will pitch for a full year too
