  1. looking at the 2b market, theirs not much the white sox can do. I dont expect W sox go all out for Hudson. After that, theirs not much there. 3B and fifth starter should be more important
  2. trash kenny now for picking some up who go cut off 40 man roster of rockies. Of course everyone knows results this guy will bring in future as well
  3. who cares what people espn , tbs, raido etc. It's their opinion. Stop worrying about the media. Their not gonna lose sleep if their wrong and your making it too big of a deal to care what they think. I mean honestly they didnt pick us to win central and look what happened. Its like you want respond in their faces and go HA your wrong. All I can say is just win and the rest will take care of its self
  4. guys do understand that pitching staff ever since that rainy weekend has screwed up the whole rotation and everything with it. Tommrrrow Buerhle goes on three days rest, then its to danks im hearing will pitch monday, and then on on floyd to tuesday. Ozzie should of seen this coming with pitchers going on three days rest that their gonna tire easily when you get to 5,6, and 7. We dont have a sabathia or santana on this team that can be horses go on three days rest. Guillen just throwing them out there cause thats their best option. Missing a 5th starter has proven very fatal.
  5. guys the w sox are falling apart at the seems. The crying, moaning, and groaning is happening all over the locker room. Two new additions are defnitley the one's saying their minds. I am more pisst about this teams philosophy as a whole than what has happened this year. When you cant do a run down, lay down a bunt, fird to third a guy, and score a runner on a single from second. It's time for change and no Im not asking for team like twins. But, if you dont get guys that consistley put the ball in play, your going to be in trouble.
  6. Im sorry but why is anyone suprised of what happened past couple of weeks and hell if you want to include months. The last time I ever felt confident with this team was when w sox swept twins back at home for a four game set. How long ago was that. Ever since the white sox played medicore baseball at times during this and hell even worst during this stretch of novemeber. With all the quotes whether be ozzie calling out javier vasquez and the classic vasquez line " I dont care, I get to go home with money". Real classy javier, tells all about that guy right there. Orlando Cabrera, my my my the leadingship you done with your mouth to media has worked 100 percent make yourself look like a giant asshole looking for new contract. You wanna say something to teammate go up to him and be honest about it. I almost got feeling by tonight that we should feel their pain and sorry for putting up a half ass effort last few weeks. I watched the crap and I felt like was 2007 all over again with easy outs and really bad pitching. You can look at every game that was real close blame ozzie for stupid moves to first game of the season with umps blowing it. We played bad and deserved the faith that shaun upon us. s*** does happened in baseball and tigers and indians know danm well this year about it. Dont worry clevlened will be more than ready next year and I for one dont look foward to facing them. Twins have very consistent pitching and they usually all go 6 innings and dont have a mess of a bullpen that ozzie somehow made out to be. I will not give up on them. But, the reality of it is we just stink and there was no way this team was gonna do anything. in 2005 you felt confident when you went to ballpark abd energy was amazing. I never got that feeling at all this year. I felt like we benifited from detrioit and espeically clev injuries. The future does look bright though. Carlos quentin, alexi raimerez, healthy limbrink, danks, jenks, and floyd all give reason for hope next season. I want all the realists out there to go out and tell me did you ever even think we come close contending for divsion in last week. Alot people had us 4th and worst. I dont blame them either do to worst crap baseball I had ever seen. And I do mean after May. The problems I got with the team heading into this offseason is someone better become f***ing leader and shut up all the egos and crap. All this crap of talking outside to media does what for you other than answer stupid questions about some incident. When you play good you wont hear moaning and complaining to media. Another thing is ozzie better start developing baseball players. Yes , baseball players. No how to first to third, score a run from second on a base hit, learn how to bunt, and most of alll run a god danm rundown. I never seen a run down look so danm pitfull all year till you watch the w sox. You just sit and wonder what exactly do they even work on. I will say from last year jermaine dye and jim thome bounced back really nicely. I am glad have them back and proved to me they indeed can still play this game very well. Alot of crap has gone down for us and lets face it no 5th starter hurt us and rotation set was never the same again, having a clutch joe crede does hurt, losing your mvp of year as well and of course losing your best setup and basically making ozzie go with weird situations. I hope everyone knows that free agencey will be hear very shortly and who knows what kenny has up his sleeves this offseason and im sure hes gonna be pushing the envelope. Just enjoy these final days of baseball cause it will be gone for awhile and only then will you know how much you wish you could watch it during those months. I will be at tommrrows game watching and hope see some energy. I can only expect it to be like a funeral. you can tell from coming all way to minny to all the way here is that somber and sadness is going on southside. So cheer and enjoy the baseball. night.
  7. Bruce levine sees massett as crap and same with richar so maybe thats his opinion
  8. BY COWLEY THE CABRERA ERROR OVERTURNED AND HE SPECULATES WONDER WHO CALLED
  9. from trib; Meanwhile, the Sox's executives have thoroughly examined their own minor league talent to prepare for a possible trade before Thursday's 3 p.m. non-waiver trading deadline. An oddity is that general manager Ken Williams plans to accompany the team throughout this three-city trip. In the past three seasons, Williams has remained in Chicago in the time leading up to the trading deadline. The Sox could look to improve their bullpen, although their leverage was weakened by Joe Crede's back injury that necessitated the promotion of third baseman Josh Fields from Triple-A Charlotte. Crede won't be eligible to return until Aug. 6
  10. alexi raimerez might miss game due to birth. Juan uribe will be placed in if so.
  11. Konerko to 15 day dl. Wise Called up Field in Dl in minors Owens hurt today in minor league game.
  12. from rongey russelll was sent down already after the game and rongey said he got text say rumors that white sox rumoring of letting go of uribe and maybe other possible changes.
  13. hmm one or two moves coming hmmm... that means bye bye stewart and bye bye uribe... or maybe even wasserman... dont expect anything unexpected.
  14. My question why isnt ozuna hitting leadoff? He has killed cc sabathia now this is lineup: swish, ocab, thome, konerko, dye, aj, crede, anderson or quentin and pablo hitting 9th
  15. Swisher takes over at leadoff, center field By Mark Gonzales - 7:01 p.m. TUCSON, Ariz. -- Manager Ozzie Guillen announced after Wednesday's 12-10 loss to Milwaukee that Nick Swisher will bat leadoff and play center field most of the time while Jerry Owens recovers from a small tear of the right adductor muscle. Despite his lack of experience at the leadoff spot, Swisher welcomes the assignment. His high on-base percentage and ability to work deep counts made the decision easy for Guillen. Pablo Ozuna will remain the leadoff batter for Monday's season-opener against Cleveland because he's a lifetime .400 hitter (12-for-30) against C.C. Sabathia.
  16. 03/25/2008 4:56 PM ET Injury could land Owens on DL Home opener on April 7 would likely be targeted as return date By Scott Merkin / MLB.com TUCSON, Ariz. -- The right groin problem that has bothered Jerry Owens for much of Spring Training once again has acted up on the fleet-footed leadoff man and center fielder, meaning he could start the 2008 season on the disabled list. Owens went for an MRI on Tuesday afternoon to get another look at the groin, and if he is placed on the DL this week, Owens would be eligible to return around the home opener on April 7. "I'm going today to get a MRI to make sure we are treating it the right way," Owens told MLB.com Tuesday afternoon. "The MRI could show nothing and we would go from there, or it could show something and we would go from there." "It's suspected to just be scar tissue breaking up," White Sox general manager Ken Williams added. "If it shows anything more than just scar tissue, I'm going to be as cautious as I can possibly be with this guy. His legs are his game. I would rather have him miss the first week than have this problem bothering him throughout the whole darn season." A pattern has followed Owens since he tweaked the groin back in the first intrasquad game at the end of February. He plays well after taking a few days rest, hitting .361 this spring, but then the problem seems to creep up again. For Owens, the pain began on Sunday against the Royals as he was legging out a triple. While Owens wants to be part of the Opening Day lineup against the Indians and C.C. Sabathia, he understands a trip to the DL to start the year might help him get healthy for the bulk of the games. "I want to be able to play a healthy, full season," said Owens. "But my legs are the most important part of my game, and I want to make sure I'm ready to go at 100 percent
  17. the thing is colon isnt healthy. Colon would of been signed along time ago if he was and throwing in mid 90's. I dont know what you expect with free agent market pitchers this offseason. It was terrible class of free agents and w sox needed more offense and bullpen help. I dont even think w sox are seriously thinking bringing ohka in to start on major league roster. It's time to develop the rookies and make them produce.
  18. TUCSON, Ariz. - Because of physical examinations Thursday morning, new White Sox player Alexei Ramirez didn't speak to reporters. But the free-agent signee from Cuba looked as young as his 26 years and sported a lean build reminsicent of a young Alfonso Soriano. The 2008 Sox's media guide couldn't be printed until Ramirez arrived so the photo department could take a mug shot of him wearing a Sox cap. TUCSON, Ariz. - Juan Uribe reported to the White Sox's camp Thursday without any bitterness over losing his shortstop job to Orlando Cabrera. "I'll play wherever they want me to," said Uribe, who was greeted with several teammates. Uribe expressed a desire to stay with the Sox despite the possibility of diminished playing time TUCSON, Ariz. - The White Sox are in the midst of their annual team meeting. Two of the topics that manager Ozzie Guillen will cover in a long list on a yellow notepad are the dangers and consequences of drunk driving, which he emphasized last year, and cooperating with the media. TUCSON, Ariz. - Newcomer Orlando Cabrera revealed that manager Ozzie Guillen wasn't always annimated when he served as a coach with Montreal during the 2001 season. "I saw him sleeping one time during a game in the dugout. "Cabrera said. "I know he's a guy who expects a lot from the players and try to win, tries to do the things that bring you to the big leagues and get you to as high a level as you can." Cabrera said he didn't think of waking up Guillen. "No, it was fun," Cabrera smiled.
  19. By Mark Gonzales - 11:35 a.m. TUCSON, Ariz. - The White Sox signed pitcher Tomo Ohka and added him to the spring training roster. Ohka, 31, has a 50-63 record over parts of nine major league seasons. He was 2-5 with a 5.79 ERA in 10 starts for Toronto last season. He won 13 games for Montreal in 2002
  20. more from impacto This web site published that Bartolo Colon is on the verge of signing with the Chicago White Sox. As entrusted Impactodeportivo.com.do, was discussing the physical part of Columbus. MLB.com said Wednesday that the note is neither confirmed nor denied by the White Sox. They maintain interest in Columbus, but did not want to release more garments. . MLB in English gave credit to Impactodeportivo.com.do. The days to come will speak.
  21. Updated article from cowley TUCSON, Ariz. — Ozzie Guillen had no problem addressing the 800-pound gorilla in the room. Or at least the 300-pound pitcher. So when Guillen was asked about the Tuesday night report from Impactodeportivo.com that the White Sox had reached an agreement with free-agent right-hander Bartolo Colon on a one-year deal, the manager was his usual honest self. ‘‘Nothing is going on,’’ Guillen said after the team’s workout Wednesday. ‘‘If we try to get somebody else, I don’t think [there will be enough time] to be ready to go. And Colon’s situation, there’s nothing there. I went to see him [last month], I liked what I saw. Besides that, there’s nothing we can talk about. ‘‘Right now, we don’t know anything. Maybe later on.’’ It’s that ‘‘later on’’ that could leave the door a bit cracked. Colon was throwing only 90 mph when Guillen saw him, and that was on a good day. Shoulder problems limited the 2005 Cy Young Award winner to 10 starts in 2006 and 18 last season with the Los Angeles Angels. With Mark Buehrle, Javier Vazquez and Jose Contreras entrenched in the rotation and the Sox sold on youngsters John Danks and Gavin Floyd, Colon wouldn’t seem like a fit right now but could be an insurance policy. General manager Ken Williams was sticking to his ‘‘no comment’’ policy when it comes to trade rumors or Internet reports. ‘‘All the rumors and all the things that surface, they start to take up a large portion of my day,’’ Williams said. ‘‘I’m just not going to continue to make a habit of confirming or denying anything
