  1. I guess this deal is not done yet, there are some questions about his physical. Link
  2. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 10:37 AM) It should be based on total points for regular season and that it PERIOD Maybe so, but you cannot bring in that rule after the fact.
  3. Thornton throws very hard and has a nice smooth delivery. He ought to be able to throw a nasty change up.
  4. Yes they had the guy with the mustache and glasses. And some had the animated version of him. Five eight eight two three hundred....Empire. That's as recognizible as the Quatros theme to anybody who's lived in Carbondale. Call five four nine five three two six.....Quatro's deep pan pizza.
  5. Since my league started using fractional points 2 or 3 years ago, there have been no ties. I know this doesn't help this year, but you may consider it in the future. I disagree that you should just give the win to the higher seed. Here are some suggestions to decide the winner: a foot race between the 2 owners a chess game a game of ping pong E-bay type auction go to Best Buy and have them both play War Pigs on Guitar Hero, whoever rocks harder wins rock, paper, scissors Actually I think coin toss is the fairest way to decide this. Next year, have at least 3 tie breakers!
  6. Not sure if this is stupid or hilarious.
  7. Incredible, a deal that everybody here likes. Has that ever happened before?

My grandfather had one, then when he died we got it. I got to see a ton of Sox games in '83 when they won the division. It's probably what made me such a baseball/White Sox fan. ps. Spectreman rocks!!! Is it available on DVD?
  9. If Iguchi is not resigned after 2007, would Pedro Lopez be considered a possible replacement at second base?
  10. So my league's playoffs started this past week and the top four seeds got beat. Has that ever happened to anybody here? I was second in overall scoring for the season and now I'm out.
  11. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) Yep. QUOTE(Brian26 @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) Not the same guy at all. I see.
  12. The that the same Joe Cowley who pitched a no-hitter for the Sox?
  13. My buddy did this at the new Busch stadium. It's kinda cool, I guess, but he collects sports memorabilia. I don't, so I don't think I'd do it. It would depend on how much it costs.
  14. If Buehrle wants to break the bank, he won't be going to St. Louis.
  15. You can say cock sucker on here, but not b****?
  16. Any word on if the Sox acquired anybody in the Rule V draft?
  17. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 08:29 PM) Including Juan Uribe in this trade would have made it a much more effective salary dump. Swell idea. Cheap shortstops with with his glove & cannon are easy to find.
  18. Holy crap, is there another move coming soon? In the press conference announcing the trade, KW first says that this move gives the Sox the opportunity to move the McCarthy into the rotation. Later on he says that Floyd will compete with him for the last spot.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 12:10 AM) He'll get half that if he's lucky. For that kind of money, Vernon Wells is a vastly smarter option. Wells is not a free agent.
  20. On ESPN today, they said Bonds is looking for $40 mil over 2 years.
  21. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) Whatever happened TV writers smoking crack? Mr Ed the talking horse, The Patty Duke show with Identical cousins, Turbo-Teen the kid who turns into a car whenever he gets overheated...a metaphor for something, you know? TV writers now are all the crack baby children of the original crack smoking TV writers. Hence the vast wasteland that is television.
