  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 4, 2014 -> 12:17 PM) Josh Donaldson, Jason Heyward, and Alex Gordon all play semi-premium to premium defensive positions and they play it incredibly well while being fairly to very productive hitters to boot. It's not flawed whatsoever. In theory, yes, the White Sox are only 4 games better. Much of that depends upon context, which WAR removes from the equation. Still, I feel the difference between 54-58 and 50-62 is incredibly signficant. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 4, 2014 -> 01:45 PM) Of course it's a flawed statistic, but no statistic is perfect. It's also difficult to just assume that teams are going to remain the same record wise. The Sox I think would be - they could simply move Gillaspie over to 1B and they'd be sitting right around their same mark - but the A's then have to do something with Moss or Abreu and find a 3B, which cuts 5 positional runs from either's value due to the positional adjustment made in WAR. I am 99.9999% sure both of these cannot be true.
  2. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 4, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) Can any of you degenerates confirm that using Viagra with drinking isn't going to kill me or my girl? I was told not to because it thins your blood, but that was just from a guy not a doctor.
  3. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 06:35 AM) Yesterday was day 1 of the Bar Exam. It was fine, but afterwards the "biggest debacle in bar exam history" happened. Eh, theres enough lawyers already anyway.
  4. If John Danks gets traded does Jordan automatically get included in the deal?
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 12:03 PM) I think you're crazy if you think Beckham would get claimed. Frankly, Dunn too. Beckham is still owed a couple million and he's been terrible this year. Dunn is still owed like $5 million, does nothing defensively, and can't hit lefties. Viciedo I'm in agreement on. Why do you think someone would trade for Dunn but not claim him? Beckham should be owed less than 1.5 after trade deadline.
  6. I'm going to have to buy my first piece of Cardinal gear. Gonna get an AJ jersey t-shirt. Probably go with this one because I can't stand all the red I see everywhere. All my Cardinal fan friends are gonna s*** when they see me wearing it. http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?prod...1452901.2455400
  7. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) I heard the boo's. Glad the Cubs fans haven't forgotten about him! lol. And yes, that is what I thought when I saw what number he had. Ah, I forgot they were playing the Cubs. It wouldn't be like baseball's best fans to boo their own without good reason.
  8. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 26, 2014 -> 03:22 PM) AJ grounded out to 2B in his first AB. Anyone want to guess what number he is wearing? My buddy just sent me this text: We are at the game today. He just got booed real good.
  9. Red Sox are in St. Louis on the 5,6,7 of August.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 25, 2014 -> 02:03 PM) Thanks on both, definitely a brew tour will be on tap. Farmteam is talking about St. Louis.
  11. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 07:10 PM) Arriving late Sunday afternoon and leaving late Wednesday morning. Don't care for the heat and humidity. Like a place with some good drinks but nothing too loud. The point is to get away from the noise of the 6 and 4 year olds for a few days. We're both poker players so the casinos are always a backup option but my wife has never been to STL and I haven't been since I was 10 so we'd like to know what is cool to see. Historic sites generally interest us. Well, you can go up in the Arch, but people who are claustrophobic tend to not like the ride up. The Anheuser-Busch brewery tour is about an hour and then free beers after that. There’s also several smaller breweries if you are interested in that. Forest Park is one of the largest urban parks in the US. The the zoo, art museum, history museum, science center and the Muny opera are all in the park. You could check out a Cardinals game, or there are 2 independent league teams in the area as well. Laumeier Sculpture Park is pretty unique. The Delmar Loop in University City has the St. Louis walk of fame - there’s really quite a few historical figures from St. Louis. If you are looking to play poker, I would recommend Ameristar casino, but its out in St. Charles, so it may not be near where you will be staying. Cahokia Mounds is also outside of the city in Illinois, but interesting if you’re into history.
  12. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 05:29 PM) Taking a kidless getaway to St. Louis for 3 days in August. Suggestions? Weekend or during the week? Do you like outdoors stuff? Drinkers? Its gonna be hot and humid.

  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 08:24 PM) Yeah we're sending that paper work in too. You can't technically apply for the forgiveness until 2017, but there's an office that will track your payments annually. It also looks like once you've registered they transfer your loan to a specific servicing company that works solely with the PSFL program. Yeah, I think I had the specifics a little off, but essentially she worked for several years that did not count toward the forgiveness.
  16. I used the Income Based or Income Contingent plan a while back. I don't remember which and I don't remember the difference either. If I recall correctly, they just needed some information from your most recent tax return and I think your spouse's SSN. Didn't take too long, I think a month or less to get it changed. You may want to make sure your wife is set up for that program. My wife worked for a place four years before she found out that she was not signed up for loan forgiveness and so that time did not count.
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 02:34 PM) http://www.nerdist.com/vepisode/weird-al-y...harrells-happy/ You're welcome. I like Weird Al, but those types of songs are always better when you know the original.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 13, 2014 -> 01:46 AM) To be fair, his offense is is still one of the best in his career this year, it's his defense that has been horrendous this year according to metrics. His range at 2B is just terrible this year. That's not really saying much and I don't even know if its true. What are you basing that on?
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 05:50 PM) I've seen enough of Robin Ventura. He seemingly makes at least one of these WTF decisions every single game. edit: I don't care if Dunn PH later, PK should NEVER face a tough RHP, NEVER. We know, you say it daily.
  20. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:50 PM) A runner crossed homeplate. Holy s***, Don Rickles in the house!
  21. Damn forgot it was a day game. How'd they score?
