  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 05:35 PM) Why fire Mangini? It's ownership's fault that they went with Favre over Pennington, then gave Penn to a division rival. Pretty much. The biggest problem though IMHO, is they didn't have enough weapons and on top of that, they lost a high pick because of that trade.
  2. They really should've made this game at Soldier Field. Cooler conditions and way better sightlines for such an event. Everyone, even the people in the "close" seats will have a terrible view.
  3. Well, some people are still mad at the season, but truthfully the Bears overcame their terrible defensive coordinator, an average offensive coordinator, and their declining defensive players to a respectable 9-7 season. Could this team have done better? Yes. But look at the preseason predictions and Bears' fans themselves didn't predict this good of a season. You simply have to take that into account. Now once in awhile, you have a cinderella story, but fact is, the Bears didn't have the parts for a cinderella type season. They don't have the players or coordinators to take them places and overcome their deficiencies. Lovie really isn't the problem. He showed more fire than the Bears last game if that counts for anything, especially when he tried to challenge the spot in the 4th quarter. Anyways, remember, Bill Cowhers hoo-rah wears out on players. Ask Pittsburgh fans and they wanted him out years before they won the SuperBowl and some still didn't care that he left right after the SuperBowl. That includes players as well. The problem is, the Bears have two playmaking returners, a nice RB and nothing else on offense. Orton really is not the answer on offense. He simply stares down his receiver way too much, they don't have a #1 or #2 CB on that team, their best secondary player cannot get through a full season, their "franchise" player has fallen off, no one buys into their defensive coach, and their d-line looked like they've lost interest.
  4. ROFLS. You could tell it wasn't going to bounce because he even kicked it soft.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 02:49 PM) It was interesting, as Vasher was ripping on Orton for doing this too much on Comcast yesterday. You usually don't hear criticism like that from your teammate. It's true and it's really evident the past two quarters. He just looks at the receiver and doesn't bother turning his head whatsoever. He doesn't even even slightly tilt his head. You know who he's going to all the time.
  6. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 02:48 PM) Olson had that ball and it should've been a TD. One thing I noticed is that Orton eyes his receiver too much. Damn just as I said it, so does the announcer.

  8. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 02:41 PM) The entire demise of the Bears season is defense related. While the offense isn't great, it hasn't lost as many games as the defense. Ogunleye and Vasher can go with their huge overpayed contracts. Tillman would be first on the defensive list along with Urlacher.
  9. Well the Vikings gave the Bears their chance and Bears didn't take it.
  10. Wow. I've never seen an announcer so happy in my life. Looks like it won't be a fumble.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 02:27 PM) Radio announcers bashing Orton for not running for an easy first down. He really should have ran on that play. Maybe he thought if he threw for the first down, he would get a call on Brandon Lloyd for contact.
  12. Orton looks terribly in accurate today, but the refs look terrible as well.
  13. I think Vikings win. Giants won't risk their main guys getting injured. It's not worth it.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 11:27 AM) So it was Babich's fault that Orton threw 3 INT's in Minnesota? Babich's fault that Orton was terrible in Minnesota? Babich's fault that Tillman decided to fight a guy on 4th down in OT vs Tampa? Babich's fault Olsen fumbled twice in Carolina? Or was it Babich's fault that Lovie squibbed with 11 seconds to go in Atlanta? It was Babich's scheme that put the Bears in very bad situations.
  15. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 11:24 AM) Actually I'd disagree with that. Hedo Turkoglu was one of the best clutch players in the league last season, and he's usually the guy down the stretch who we look for, because Dwight's not good enough at the line. I think we match up well with the Cavs and Celts at the PG (Nelson is a wash with Rondo and Williams IMO), and have the edge in the frontcourt. Turkoglu did it for one season. What they need is a Chris Paul type(preferably from last year) or a Tony Parker where he will constantely get to the lane and create for someone else and if not, take a shot for himself. In other words, they need someone who can create. Turkoglu is a nice underrated player, but he isn't that guy.
  16. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Dec 27, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) I have two winter classic tickets that im looking to unload for face value. Let me know if interested. How much and where are the seats?
  17. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Dec 27, 2008 -> 08:03 PM) I do too, but not as much as I used to. I'm paranoid about getting caught since two of my friends were both sued by the RIAA. So now, I only download songs I really like. That stinks considering the RIAA is no longer going to file lawsuits from what I have read.

I really don't watch Will Smith movies, but I would say Pursuit of Happiness was really good. It's true that alot of his movies aren't that great at all. I like that he's starting to go after more serious roles though like Seven Pounds. He's going to hit with at least one of them.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 26, 2008 -> 08:51 PM) Crede has been hurt, with the same back injury, 4 straight years. He missed a few weeks in 2005, he was playing hurt down the stretch in 2006, missed most of 2007, and missed half of 2008. It's a pretty similar situation quite honestly. No it really is not. There's a difference between playing banged up and not being able to play at all. If Brown was able to play, there wouldn't be a problem, but he's not. He's injured a lot more without being able to play. A lot of guys play with injuries in all sports throughout the season, the difference is the ones who can't play through injuries because they are too severe. Crede missed a couple of games in '05, still played in '06, was injured 2007. In 2008, he played great while still being injured and missed half the season because he followed the advice of his agent instead of a doctor. He gambled and lost. His injury problems were based on stupidity, Brown's problems are not. He's injury prone, which to mean, is hurt to the point to where he can't play and that's happened for most of his career. And it's with different injuries which is the biggest difference. He'll tear this, break something else, then tear something else.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 27, 2008 -> 12:59 AM) Well, obviously they're different teams in the literal sense, but outside of Dwight, they, like the Bulls, are just a jump shooting team with no real big man presence which regularly plays a small lineup. My God, Rose/Pietrus/Lewis/Hedo/Howard would be incredible... I was thinking more in the lines of a Chris Paul. Rose may be great in the future and he shows signs, but he's not there.
  21. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 26, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) I got an Xbox 360, some new shoes, and Dexter season 2. Dexter Season 2 is a great one. Which reminds me, I gotta catch up on Season 3.
  22. QUOTE (rangercal @ Dec 26, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) It's kinda like the sox with Joe Crede Not really. Joe has been injured the past two years with the same injury. He's not injury prone, he has just taken bad advice from his agent. Call him stupid, but it's not nearly the same situation. Brown has been injured numerous times in the past and I believe this is the first time in a while he has even played 15 games.
  23. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 26, 2008 -> 03:57 PM) That is nuts!
