TOMORROW'S GAME IS A BLACK OUT!
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 11:47 PM) The towels were annyoing tonight. I don't know how they looked on TV, but it was annoying to be behind. The blackout however was awesome, and needs to be done through the whole playoffs, no doubt. I loved the sign someone had "You have now entered the black hole of baseball" I love the towels actually. Whole thing was pretty awesome.

TOMORROW'S GAME IS A BLACK OUT!
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) Huzzah! I looked through board preferences and couldnt find it, knew it had to be something simple but just was to frustrated. Just look at this thread. Scroll all the way at the bottom of the page, and on the left side, there is a drop down menu box that says Soxtalk Pro. Click it and you should see Soxtalk Pro Black as an option.

Fine work heads!

Who will be at the game tonight?
I actually got lucky. Well technically it was my girlfriend. She found tickets last night and just bought them as soon as possible. Got very lucky with that.

Minnesota @ Chicago - One Game Playoff
If it makes any difference, wind is going to be blowing out tonight. First pitch, weather is going to be around 54 degrees and by the time its over it should be 50.

Fathom discussion....why Danks was passed over against MN last week
I think Danks goes 5.1 giving up 5 runs and hopefully we're tied when he leaves. It'll come down to two bad bullpens.

Anyone else think we should make an all black background for the board tomorrow?

Tickets for Tomorrow's game vs MIN
QUOTE (oralsoxpodcast @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) got 4 in the uppertank. not sure i'll need all 4. got some phone calls to make WTF? I guess the agenda behind some members is to make sure they make top buck first, then get Sox fans there secondly unless they're willing to make top buck.

Tickets for Tomorrow's game vs MIN
QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 29, 2008 -> 06:57 PM) Got 4 in Right Field. Will only need two. What will these go for on StubHub? I sure hope you thought you would need 4. I only needed two tickets and if I'm not able to get any, I will be a pissed off guy.

TOMORROW'S GAME IS A BLACK OUT!
For the funeral? I'm going to try and go. It's the closest I'll get to Sox tickets for the playoffs.

Detroit @ Chicago - 1:05 PM WGN/ESPN2
We already know what we need to do it. No need for motivation because if you need it, then you might as well not play the game. RIP'EM OR STAY HOME!

Official 2008-2009 NFL Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 03:08 PM) I'm with Shadows. Sanchez is ok, but overrated due to the school he goes to. He has to improve a lot before being a top 15 QB. I like Bradford. Bradford and Stafford to me will be borderline Pro-Bowl QB's. Better than Ryan, but not at the level of a Romo or Brady.

QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 06:02 PM) It's easy to manage when your pitcher doesn't blow up and your team scores runs. This.

LET'S PLAY 162!!!
QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 05:59 PM) Floyd 4 Carrasco 2 Dotel 1 Linebrink 1 Jenks 1 Floyd needs to go way more than 4. I think he needs 6 for us to have a chance. If it's less than that, count it being a loss because this team cannot get in a shootout. Carrasco has been garbage lately and I say that in the best way possible. Dotel is good for an inning when he's on. If he's not, he gives up HR's at a Brandon McCarty/Eric Milton clip. Linebrink definitely should not be playing tomorrow. Everything he throws is straight and he's not close to 100%. You could tell from his last outing that he tries so hard to locate his pitches because he can't. If there is less than a one run lead, I have no confidence in Jenks. He puts too many runners on and has been bad for all of this month. For a win, unless Ozzie plans on using some starters tomorrow, it should be Floyd for 8, Thornton for the 9th and hopefully, let's play on Tuesday.

LET'S PLAY 162!!!
QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 05:43 PM) Whoever can get a few solid innings. Only guys who can get solid innings right now is Buehrle. I let Gavin get himself out of any jams if need be tomorrow because our bullpen is inept.

Win or Die Trying Part II
Sadly, the Sox know the scouting report against Freddy better than we do. And he's going to want to shut us down tomorrow since he's pitching for a contract. Don't underestimate Big Game Fred.

Who would you like to see gone before '09?
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 10:49 AM) The only people I see gone are Cabrera, Crede, and Griffey. Then possibly Anderson. I don't see where or how we could trade Konerko, Thome, Vazquez, or Dye (i.e. the most logical guys you'd like to dump from the roster). The combination of big money, no trade clauses, and crappy performances means they'll be difficult to move. Swisher is a guy who would be easy to trade, but then KW's ego won't let him dump Swisher so quickly and for a much smaller return than what Williams gave the A's. I think this team won't change much. 2009 might get ugly. I agree, it probably won't change much at all unfortunately.

Who would you like to see gone before '09?
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 12:52 AM) If the Sox count on Contreras for anything next season, they are screwed. You have to assume Jose will never pitch again. If he does, then it's a bonus. He IMO would be much better than the MR we have on this team. I'm not saying he should be a closer or setup guy, just a MR who could eat up innings.

Who would you like to see gone before '09?
Well I said in the chat the other day, I think the Sox would be best suited putting Contreras in the pen as he still has enough for 3 innings, but can't pull out 6 innings out of his like usual. I think if he was a middle reliever where he only had to pitch one inning, it would be better since he could go all out and not having to worry about the next inning. With that said, I think we are two starters away. Buehrle, Danks, and Floyd are really good glue guys to have in there. I would like a Sabathia, then maybe bring back Freddy. Burnett's injury history and his Javier-esque approach don't appeal to me.
