But the PS3 is a BluRay player which costs $1,000.00 alone. Want proof? Check the sales ad from bestbuy this past week and it's there. Samsung I think is the model.
  2. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) :headshake :headshake This is why I think Tyrus is a Tyson clone. Both don't have much offensive game to speak of. Tyrus can't shoot despite what he showed in that 30 minute workout. It's just like when Andre Iguodala did shooting drills for several teams 2 years ago. He was red hot, had the right mechanics and teams thought he could actually shoot. That's not the case (In no way am I dogging Iggy either because he's a fav player of mine). Both Ty and Ty accelerate at rebounding and their only forms of offense are putbacks. Thomas moves with a little more fluidity, but that's about it. Only thing I'll say is that Tyrus is shorter, so I could easily see him being a Josh Smith, especially since he's said he sees himself as a "3" moreso than a "4". Josh Smith isn't a bad player, but we don't need a Josh Smith on this team.
  3. QUOTE(TheHammer @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) First of all, like I said coming into Tuesday's game A-Rod had the highest OPS among 3Bs in the AL. He was one thousandth of a point ahead of Glaus. I was not wrong. A-Rod was 0-4 today and Glaus was 1-4 so I guess they could have flip flopped but I did not have the up to the second numbers. 2nd of all I don't see how more HRs can put Tejada ahead of Jeter when Jeter is hitting like 20 points higher and have an OBP that is 60 points higher and a higher OPS. He has had a great season stealing bases 15/17 and is the leader of one of the better teams in the AL. I guess statistically one could argue he is only marginally better than Tejada, but I think it would be very difficult for one to say he has been better than Jeter. I also disagree with defense being a wash, Jeter is more reliable on the routine plays and just as spectacular on the tough ones. Tejada deserves to be an all-star, he deserves to be Jeter's backup. I disagree. Tejada over his career is a much much better defender with much better range. Even most Yankee fans will admit that Jeter doesn't have much range. I'd take tons of players ahead of Jeter defensively at SS.
  4. For coach of the year, I voted Jim Larranaga from George Mason. What he did with that team was just too awesome. Sox are the best team though.
  5. I just wanted to add, I think it's great your spending time with your nephew and take him to ballgames instead of sticking him in front of a tv like alot of people I know do. Kids need to get out more these days and you're doing a great job of making sure he does that when he's around you at least.
  6. A couple of things: Rudy Gay has no heart whatsoever. He suffers from what I like to call the "Frank Williams sydrome". He has tons of talent, he's gifted, but yet he doesn't try for 80% of the game. He thinks he could turn it on whenever he wants and most of the time, he's just disinterested in the game. Not really trying to assert himself. Not because he's shy or quiet, he just doesn't have the will power to dominate like he should. Gay is the reason why UConn didn't go all the way. His teammates bailed him out all season at UConn and it finally caught up to them. 2)Bulls will probably take Thomas, though he has Tyson Chandler written all over him. Aldridge would be a better pick IMO though. 3)ESPN knows jack about the NBA draft. They constantly jockride all college players and their rankings are way off, especially for Bilas. Randy Foye #1 overall? I love the guy's talent and all, but um, no! And they say Bargnani has the least potential out of all of the potential draftees. Makes me wonder if they even watch basketball games other than the tourney games.
  7. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 03:32 PM) Would the Tigers trade away Guillen? It seems sort of foolish, particularly with some of the speculation swirling about Tejada. Could be a big risk for the Tigers. Tejada > Guillen by a wide margin. I think too many people on soxtalk nitpick about everything. If I signed to a team that told me they were going to do their damn best to compete, then watch as every FA signs elsewhere, I'd be pissed too. Especially when pitching isn't working out at all.
  8. I'd take a shot on him. Garland and/or Freddy would probably be gone next year if it happened, but look at it like this: We get a young LH who's damn good when he's on and he's shown he could be electric. RHP-Jose Contreras LHP-Mark Buehrle RHP-Javier Vazquez LHP-Oliver Perez RHP-Brandon McCarthy
  9. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) This article is good news for you... To me, it sounds like he didn't fully enjoy the visit. Also, if he doesn't like warm weather, FSU is f***ed. It's got to be ND in the lead. ND or the Illini. HELP TURN AROUND THE ILLINI BABY!
  10. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Who the f*** hired the lazy thugs who direct traffic around the city? Now those are some incompetant hoodlums. The city. I do agree, most of them are incompetent.
  11. They only get paid $7.25 an hour until after our first 30 events. Then it's $7.50. Anyway, even if you don't know their name, if you know the section they were working in and what day it was, they'll be able to reward/tell that employee off. I agree, some of them are asshats while the others are pretty decent.
  12. I don't think we'll hit 3 million either.
  13. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) The only way something like this would affect a team in a negative manner is if this controversy was about one of the players. Since this is about a f***** columnist that is universally despised by the whole organization it has the effect of rallying the team around Ozzie. The boys close ranks around their manager and play that much harder for him. Bingo.
  14. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:53 AM) That's an extremely special case, and he had been in school for 4 years already (3 as a player and he redshirted), but point taken. Tim Duncan. He was going to be a #1 pick coming out of high school. Teams were just waiting on him. Oden is a guy who will go #1 in any draft and everyone knows that. He won't lose much if anything at all by not leaving OSU. He also sounds like he just wants to stay in college and grow up like a bunch of other kids do. And I'm willing to make a sig/avy bet of anyone's choice that the Knicks end up with a better record than they did last year. Who's up for it?
  15. I think some people are underestimating Isiah. I see them as a better team with Isiah. About 10 wins better. Now I'm not saying Isiah is a better coach, but he'll be better for that team. 1)Brown had a bunch of players he didn't like and tried to mold them. The players just couldn't play his style of ball or didn't want to at all. Isiah won't try to mold them. He'll let them do whatever they please on offense and not ask for much on defense. 2)Isiah will find a 8 man rotation and stick with it the whole way through. Brown would have different lineups everyday. 3)Isiah actually did decent in Indiana. He finished over .500 ever year he was there and he developed Jermaine O'Neal, Jamaal Tinsley(though he's oft injured) and Ron Artest(though he's crazy). I predict at least 30 wins for them. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm sure we're more likely to end up with a pick around 8 next year instead of 1.
  16. I just wish we were facing the Mets as well so we could break their hearts too.
  17. Who would have ever thought that you could make a pick to click with any player on the Sox these past 2 games, and you'd probably be a winner? Anyway, trade Mark. 4 runs = too many runs. Trade Mackowiak as well.
  18. Cincy looks like they'll be in the race for awhile. I doubt they trade Griffey unless they could get a very very good SP.
  19. Personally I could care less what Ozzie said. Lots of people use the say term Ozzie uses in the context Ozzie meant it, but they don't get crucified for it. It's just like Eminem using the term. He doesn't mean it to offend the homosexual community, he means it as in how weak you are. To me though, this is a yawner. I'm used to this stuff by Oz.
  20. On BBTN(save the speech), they were talking about a Zumaya for Smoltz trade as an idea/rumor.
  21. QUOTE(henry wiggins @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 10:25 PM) Why isn't Montero in Charlotte? And why is he in this game? Cas Ozzie's a dick. Anyway, Montero for Timo. Get it done Kenny.
  22. I already thought Rowand was a mod. Oh well, Kudos to all the promotions guys!
  23. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jun 20, 2006 -> 11:24 AM) Ozzie is going to take his players anyway. Pretty much. As long as Count, Dye and Thome are there, I don't care and I know all 3 will be there.
  24. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 17, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) Five-star receiver Arrelious Benn has narrowed his choices down to four: FSU, UofI, ND, and USC. At this point I would guess ND would be the frontrunner. All I know is I would be estatic if he chose FSU. Arrelious Benn U of I, DO IT BENN! BE A SAVIOR!
