  1. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 09:33 PM) The guy is old and hasn't played in over a year. How in the world is he gonna have any kind of decent skills against the best players in the world after that kind of time and 2 hip surgeries?! PASS. Two hip surgeries is the reason why I say no way.
  2. I'm going to go on record and say I wouldn't be a fan of the move. He's simply too old.
  3. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 4, 2010 -> 08:34 PM) With a four-run lead, our bullpen, and EdWIN's pitch count, to my way of thinking, you absolutely give him at least one batter to continue along. He walked Cabrera, and Ozzie came and got him right away. I have no problem with rewarding Jackson with the start of the inning under those circumstances. That.
  4. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 09:27 AM) My only real issue with the EVO is the size and it's poor battery life, it's a nice looking phone other than that. While technically inferior to the newer Droid X, I think it was designed better. The reason I say I'll be looking toward Gingerbread (An3.0) for true alternatives to the iPhone is because Google is focusing their efforts on user experience to kill off the custom skinning everyone is doing. Right now, I truly dislike all these custom skins the different manufacturers are slapping on Android to make their devices custom. I do not like the HTC crap, and I do not like the Moto crap either. And I'm not into the entire hacker community anymore, I don't want to worry about having to root and hack roms onto my phones, I just want them to do what they do and work with the default roms. I get a 19% discount on AT&T right now (through work), so the iPhone is nice for me, without it, I'd probably be more open to the EVO/Sprint alternative, as Verizon is just WAY expensive. I had Verizon before I moved to AT&T for the iPhone, and as expensive as people claim AT&T is...it's not. Verizon is just crazy expensive and they don't allow rollover. My old Verizon bill for 1 windows mobile phone was more than my current AT&T bill with 2 iPhones on it. Agreed. I have Verizon right now and for the price, I can't wait to get out. Super duper expensive. I'm looking to jump back to Sprint.
  5. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) Nothing gonna happen, I would love for the MLB The Club Show to show the uncensored KW talks about Mike Rizzo. Won't happen. KW didn't let them record it apparently.
  6. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:13 PM) MLB Network? Not everyone has it.
  7. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:07 PM) So all we need is a time machine? + + = Possible.
  8. Honestly, I'd offer Morel for Dunn before I give up Day.
  9. I don't get the demand for a lefty power bat. I mean, it would be helpful, but at the same time, just get a good power hitter and I think we'll be fine. In 2005, we really didn't have a great lefty thumper and we were able to win. I'm not saying this is '05, but I don't see the great dire need for the bat to be a lefty.
  10. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) Lucas Harrell says hi. He'll be saying bye his next start.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:41 PM) I was thinking more along the lines of what it would cost to sign the actual draft picks the Nats would receive if Dunn signed elsewhere. I'm not sure if it's a lot and a team might want to be able to have scouted prospects in pro ball than sign two kids right out of HS or college for a decent chunk of change, but I'm not sure how much those picks actually would cost. You're implying that the Nationals are flat broke. They already have a cheap roster and Rizzo is going to be a GM that looks outside FA for the most part to fill out his roster. That means draft and international prospects. Now if the rumors are true, he is being a dbag about it.
  12. I could live with this roster. I think they can still compete.
  13. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Don't assume they're getting two picks. He might accept arbitration if his arb value is high enough As I said above, there's nothing wrong with that. They'll keep a valuable player who's their only expensive player. They could also trade him further down the line when the Red Sox or Yankees come calling.
  14. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) Don't they have to offer him a deal/offer arb. to get that? They're not doing that. Why wouldn't they? If he accepts, they keep the valuable trading chip or possibly even contend two years down the line. If he walks away, they get two picks. Seems like a win win to me if I am Rizzo.
  15. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:28 PM) Washington needs to get real about a trade. They'll lose a valuable guy with nothing in return. Um they get two picks out of it. And for a guy who loves to draft, those two picks mean the world to Rizzo.
  16. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:04 PM) Man, you and J4L are almost impossible right now....you guys are just unfair. Yes, we should have signed Thome. But that's over with. I don't know what you want out of Kenny right now. These rentals aren't worth what teams are asking for and yet you insist that we land one of these rentals. Agreed. And if we pull a Morel for Dunn trade, people will be upset that we gave up too much. We all saw how upset people are still after Hudson for Jackson. I'm happy with KW standing pat if it means us not severely overpaying for someone on a rental.
  17. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 01:02 PM) Relax. If he doesn't get anything done by 4 PM, he still has the entire month of August to get something done. Trust me, nearly every player in the Major Leagues is put through trade waivers, so he'll have plenty of opportunities to try and strike a deal. Yes, but other teams will now know the names and attempt to block. It happens and we all know that.
  18. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) Heyman reporting that the Nats asked for Matt Garza for Dunn, lmao. LMFAO!!!!!
  19. QUOTE (pktmotion @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 12:01 PM) If the Rays are linked to all these guys were trying to trade for. How about facilitating a three team deal that would net us Carlos Pena? For the Sox, they prefer a guy who can play another position other than 1B and DH. For Tampa, they want to add to their lineup which includes Pena.
  20. Again, I'd love Manny because he would be motivated again. He probably didn't need to go on the DL, but the Dodgers overall are not playing good playoff ball. Manny likes Ozzie, I'm sure likes the city, will be playing for a contract and the playoffs. Didn't Manny want to come here after the '05 season but our front office say no? I remember reading that somewhere.
  21. I'd love to add Manny actually. I think he would be revived her playing in Chicago with Ozzie, in a smaller ballpark and the ability to DH.
  22. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) i agree with you, i hate these coop will fix him posts I hate that you won't name the "mystery bat" either. So name him. Until then... COOP WILL FIX HIM! YES HE DID! HOPE! A FIX YOU CAN BELIEVE IN!
  23. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:23 AM) THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE! IF YOU WANNA CROWN THEIR [bEEP]es THEN CROWN'EM!
  24. I like the wave. It gets the children excited and the fans somewhat involved. Now if it was the playoffs, I could understand being mad. The regular season? Ha.
  25. Is Nick Johnson out for the career? Seriously, what happened to him? I know he got injured, but I thought he signed a multi year deal.
