8/28 Gamethread - Danks v. Yank$;
QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 29, 2010 -> 12:10 AM) Maybe it's time for a new pitching coach. How can just about everyone in the pen all suck at once except the kids from the minors? The overall pitching this season has been disappointing all season. It screwed the team at the beginning of the year and is putting the team farther away. Since people like to blame coaches and managers, Coop's group has not lived up to expectations. Hard to live up to expectations when your main cogs are injured, no? BTW, this game flat out falls on the hands of John Danks, period. For a guy who is a supposed ace pitcher, he has way too many games were he flat out struggles.

8/28 Gamethread - Danks v. Yank$;
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 28, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) He has too many games where his mechanics are off and his offspeed pitches just aren't there. This. He screams 3rd starter to me.

White Sox Acquire Manny Ramirez
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) Manny not in line-up tonight, but IS in the clubhouse. Saying his goodbyes tonight? Would be awesome if he caught a flight to CHI tonight and was playing tomorrow. I thought it was a scheduled day off. And besides, most people show up to the ballpark, even if they're given a day off.

NBA Offseason Thread
Melo would be great, but you would definitely need to include Noah in the deal. I personally would do so, but I know too many people who wouldn't. Denver really wouldn't want Deng at all.

White Sox Acquire Manny Ramirez
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2010 -> 07:23 PM) The outfield bleacher seats have been consistently packed though since June. Tonight, there's hardly anyone from left-center to right-center. No they haven't. From the 4 games I've been to since June, alot of people notice the empty seats, walk around the ballparks and they just randomly sit there. No one does anything because ain't like no one else is showing up to fill them. The ones with kids especially do this as they want to catch a HR ball. If someone comes, they literally just slide over.

Angels place several on waivers...
Honestly, I'd claim Napoli and Fuentes. Fuentes though, wouldn't survive IMHO at the Cell. So maybe we shouldn't claim him.

Shocked PK held up on that. They're setting him up for breaking ball in the dirt or away.

SOX @ Twinkies Danks (12-8 3.19) vs. Baker (10-9 4.76)
QUOTE (docsox24 @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 09:49 PM) No it hasn't, the only way it is a great trade is if Jackson significantly outperforms Hudson and we make the playoffs That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard. If Jackson is better than Hudson the rest of their contracts, it's a win. Period. BTW, nice job bunting guys.

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 07:54 PM) Sunday was pretty bad when it was a Stone solocast Disagree big time. I thought he did an excellent job on his own.

QUOTE (Cali @ Aug 17, 2010 -> 06:49 PM) Anyone know the combined #'s our DH's have put up this season? I wanna know how atrocious this rotating DH has been.... It's in today's Sun-Times.

Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) I hesitate to try to bring in a major FA this offseason with as many holes on the offense to fill as we have...unless we're talking about a $105-$110 million total salary. Well a hole is catching, wouldn't you say? Flowers doesn't look so great as I never thought he was. Castro is nothing more than a backuip and AJ doesn't have it anymore it seems like. Victor Martinez would be a huge upgrade and provide pop. Get rid of AJ and PK and Jenks which will clear room. Because honestly, the only positions I see being adjusted are 1B C or DH. I think Ozzie is content with his OF.

What moves have come back to bite Kenny?
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) When did we trade away Garland? (Too funny, I didn't even remember this trade, I was thinking of the trade we almost made for Erstad with the Angels). And 2003, we didn't have a fifth starter and every team in baseball could have picked Kenny Rogers off the scrap heap and the Twins were prescient enough to do so, even though the guy's a total jerk. That's three seasons where we could or should have been playoff-bound and KW made massive mistakes. I'll give him a bit of a pass for this year, because you don't expect to go to the playoffs when Peavy goes down, but we were in position to do so...and still theoretically are, unless we get swept by the Twins on the road next week. They tried for Kenny but he didn't want to come here.

Edwin Jackson
For catchers, isn't Victor Martinez a FA after the year? Or how about possibly try to re-acquire Miguel?

Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 09:36 PM) I'd go with a legitimate AJ and Castro platoon. But I seriously mean "Platoon". Rather than the AJ plays against everyone except when Garcia starts. Especially if we no longer have Garcia. Flowers flat out hasn't proved anything this year except that he's not ready. This.

Edwin Jackson
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 14, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) Danks better not go anywhere except into Reinsdorf's office to sign an extension. Jackson is looking good ands if we have five solid starters I say keep them. Pitching wins games No it doesn't, balance does.

Gamethread: White Sox 64-51 vs Tigers 55-59 7:10 PM CST
Well this team just plays and acts, nonchalant. They make Paulie seem like he has a ton of energy out there. It's not just the team though. The fans are the same as well. How do we not sell out that series?
