I went through and guessed what we would draw the rest of the year. We will probably end up around 2.2 million. Pretty good job if that's where we end up at.

Why am I still so scared of the second half and a possible collapse? Everyone keeps telling me we're in the playoffs, but I can't/won't believe them.

The first half means nothing until we clinch the division. Teams far better than ours have collapsed. Injuries could kill us. Don't get me wrong, I am ecstatic about our start, but until the Magic Number is 0, all we are is a nice first-half story. We need to come out firing and not slow down.

Maybe it comes from being a life-long Sox fan, but I am scared. If we leave that stretch 6 in front I would call it a sucess. We definitely need to dominate the Twins when we play them. If they are as close to 6 back before we play them, they will have added incentive knowing they could sweep our ass and be in first. July/August is gut-check time for this team. For real or a real pretender ... we'll see.

Really, how much more do we need to see that Vizcaino is not the long relief answer. I can not remember a game where he came in and didn't give up at least one run. Time for some sort of move involving him. Shingo is also not a long relief answer.

I agree. I am trying not to get too high. You want to start thinking about how deep we can go into the playoffs, but in the first series, we could have a couple of bad games and BOOM ... we're out. I hate to admit it, I am scared if we get to the playoffs of a slump like Thomas/Konerko/Ordonez had in 2000.

The Sox currently have ture #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 hitters all doing what they are supposed to do. Bottom of the lineup still scares me a bit, but can't complain.

Funny yes, but come on, Derek Lee IS the best first baseman in town.

Let's get those Northside Yuppies. I just hope we are not peaking too early like we did in 2000 and limped into the playoffs. But, the key is to get into the playoffs. Yeah Baby!!!!

Vizcaino is absolutely brutal for this team. Personally, I think this could be the year we go deep into the playoffs and he is not the long reliever we will need in October. I believe KW will launch him soon.

Damn, I think I am going to cry. I can't believe that the season is over. We won't be pouring champagne over eachother and holding up the trophy they give in October for league's best attendance. LAst I checked, we get nada for having great attendance. And, these figures are worthless until the end of the year. Wait until all the numbers are in. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.
