  1. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ May 11, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) They're loaded.
  2. Walks are fine and so are stolen bases, but someone has to bring them home .... guys in, oh, I don't know, the 3-4-5 spots. Your RBI guys. Just bring someone home.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 11, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) Thats a classic corpseball moment. Warning track shots, striking out on pitches in the dirt, GIDP, weak pop outs What happened to manufacturing runs, grinding it out, hitting behind runners, taking advantage of speed? You are correct, those are the kinds of outs that frustrate the hell out me. First pitch swinging pop outs, GIDP, etc...
  4. I knew it was going to be the crazy Jerry Manuel Sunday lineup.
  5. Come on Sox, I almost want to switch Iguchi to No 7 in the lineup since the bottom of the order seems to be the only ones that can produce.
  6. Thanks. Hopefully I can get there on time.
  7. I had heard somewhere that one of the lots offers a discount on parking if you get there early enough. Is this true? And if so, what lot is it and what are the time constraints? I have been going to games a while and I wasn't aware of this.
  8. We would all be thrilled right now if Dye were putting up numbers like .265 and on pace for 25 HRs and 80 RBIs. Of course with him hitting so bad, expectations are lowered. I am scared to death of what happens when our pitching goes through a week-long funk and we have to rely on 3-4-5-6 in the order to carry us. Lot's of popups, strikeouts, warning track power and double play balls
  9. Right now we would put up Garcia, Contreras and El Duque.
  10. Pitfall on Atari ... starring Pitfall Harry
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 11, 2005 -> 08:35 AM) The only 2 guys who don't make me nervous in the pen right now are Hermy and Politte. Cotts? lead off walk boy Marte? Walk boy part 2, is one HR away from Koch-land. Viz? Sorry, iffy on him too. Shingo? quickly turning into LaChoy, can/will he turn it around? Not cause for major alarm yet, but I see the majority of our ballgames being close in the later innings, so the pen is a concern. I say let Politte try a few 8th or even 9th innings. I completely agree. I think it's time to give Hermy the job for a month and let's see how he does. I have Shingo Love ... I just don't have Shingo Trust.
  12. I have a terrible feeling about today. Get away day, day game where there might be 80 people in the stands, big series against another first place team at home starts tomorrow. We could be down 6-0 in the third. God I hope we jump out early today. But with the day game, I also think Ozzie will play his version of the Jerry Manuel Sunday line up we used to get.
  13. The BEST baseball game ever, for those who remember, was the Intellivision Baseball. That is the one where the ump would yell "YOOOOUUUUUUURE OOOOUUTTTTT!"
  14. 33, born/raised Arlington Heights .......... now living in Huntley.
  15. In the one season I got tickets the day of and sat next to Steve Sax's wife for two games. Sax-ie couldn't play the field for us, but he did do OK by getting her from what I remember.
  16. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) the sales department released seats to thursday's game... I've been searching ticketmaster for 4 tix, and some pretty good locations (lower deck) are popping up... this quote from an earlier attendance thread may not be accurate... This weekend we should finally hear positive discussion about Sox attendance. Just checked and here's what things look like for the series: Thursday - lower bowl sold out Friday - some lower level seats deep in the corner Saturday - only upper deck way down the line is available Sunday - lower bowl sold out I'm gonna start checking for the whole series... That was my quote and I just checked and holy smokes, Sec 117 for Saturday's game.
  17. QUOTE(mreye @ May 10, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) I think he's probably tired of the publicity and cracking under the pressure. Based on my experience covering Chicago area crime, these Suburban Police Chiefs are not prepared to handle the media when a big event breaks out. They also don't have the money for a Public Information Officer unless your a bigger town like Aurora, Joliet, Elgin, etc. If it is the dad, this is the second suburban case in a week where a parent has brutally stabbed their kids. Sickening and disgusting are the only thoughts I have toward the perpetrator. For the families, it's beyond sad and tragic.
  18. The Sox should try to subtly come up with a slogan like: White Sox Baseball: Just Fugly!
  19. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ May 10, 2005 -> 10:01 AM) It was odd. It seemed both papers try to match each other column for column today. Both had stories of Manuel, both had Ozzie's quotes about Frank, both discussed Walker, & both discussed KW. I have worked for the Tribune and a few other papers. Anyways, that is the "pack mentality" of journalists. Knowing Manuel wouldn't and shouldn't have to do interviews with the say 20 Chicago media members at the game, they are all in the same interview and get the same responses and all will print the same quotes. It's easy and lazy and they all do it. But that is the way it is. If, by chance the reporter didn't get one of the quotes that the other guys did, he would be in trouble.
  20. His baby's mother??? Was he married? Or did he go Shawn Kemp on her?
