  1. Frank is a BIG right-handed bullet to have in the gun late in games whether it be on the bench as a PH or in the lineup. Right now if we needed to have a RH PH, who would it be? If anything, he can get a late-inning walk and then Ozuna can pinch run for him, setting up a scoring situation. Don't discount the presence of Frank in the game. Pitchers don't fear him like 10 years ago, but they also don't want to make a mistake against him.
  2. Losing last night was not a big deal. Losing today would be. We need to jump all over them early and put them away. We popped out so many times last night, the DRays fielders necks must have been sore from looking up all night.
  3. The Sox looked flat. And today in the paper I read how Paulie and Ozzie basically said they were all flat in the dugout. They need to get fired up today. This was a Jerry Manual type of loss. Playing dead in a dead ballpark against a dead team. Good teams put teams like the Drays away.
  4. Even Sox fans wouldn't put the Sox vs. DRays on. Once basketball is over, we will be on ESPN as their second game a bunch over the summer.
  5. Based on our brutal August schedule (and yes, the Yankees have a big run in them still) we do need to worry more about where we are relative to the Twins. We need at least an 8 game lead going into that month.
  6. The next mark would be the 40 game one. That would be a quarter of the season.
  7. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) So do Sox fans cheer Sosa for now not being on the Cubs or do we boooo him for still being what he is (and an ex Cub)? BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I'd be happy to sit next to a bunch of hot Southside chicks who want to call themselves: Scottie's Hotties!
  9. I would love nothing better than to sell out all four games. It probably won't happen, but hopefully we sell out two games. Also, the national media will be quiet for a few days while we are in Tampa. The series against Baltimore, two first place teams really rolling, there should be a ton of national attention.
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 9, 2005 -> 09:09 AM) Don't be surprsied at how many will be looooooving Sammy and the O's and cheering against the Sox. Don'r forget, a lot of the Red Sox, Cubs, and Yankee attendance numbers are good because so many people from out of town and fans of the opposing teams want to go to their games. So bring 'em on, I could care less. You go to a Cub/Card game at Wrigley and there are thousands of Cards fans at the game. It all helps our bottom line when we fill the park.
  11. This weekend we should finally hear positive discussion about Sox attendance. Just checked and here's what things look like for the series: Thursday - lower bowl sold out Friday - some lower level seats deep in the corner Saturday - only upper deck way down the line is available Sunday - lower bowl sold out It should add up to 120,000+ for the 4 game set.
  12. Talking about the neighborhoods of Wrigleyville and Bridgeport. Expecting walk up crowds coming when the area continues to grow and change.
  13. Giving the usual half price Monday, 2-for-1 Tuesday spiel.
  14. Brooks saying Sox fans want winning baseball most.
  15. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 6, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) I'll be sure to catch it after reading your winning endorsement, lol. Sorry, just that Doug Buffone only knows Bears football and Telander hasn't been interesting since he was on the Sportswriters. IMO!
  16. Mike Mulligan just announce that Brooks Boyer will be on just after the 2:40 update this afternoon with he and Buffoon, and the ever-boring Rick Telander.
  17. I have been here for 5 months and enjoy reading the boards every day. It's great to know there are other people who really bleed with the Sox fortunes. Oh and if you really want to ingratiate yourself to the veterans here, just start a thread ripping fans for not coming to games.
  18. We need a big cusion come August. A 5 game lead could evaporate in two weeks during that month. We need to just keep rolling now,
  19. 5/21 Wrigley in the upper deck with my Cub fan brother in law.
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) No rush on getting this done. There's plenty of time for that. AJ's still "motivated" to prove himself. Let's run with that for a while. Agreed!
  21. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ May 6, 2005 -> 08:32 AM) Booyaa...The Twins and Sox have helped keep Detroit and Cleveland below .500. And I read mariotti everyday, just to see what he has to say. Its like a train wreck, I can't look away. I have fallen into his trap! Me --> "The average Howard Stern fan listens for 45 minutes. Why? they want to know what he'll say next." "The average Howard Stern hater listens for an hour and a half. Why? They want to know what he'll say next."
  22. As much as I hate to read him, his question marks about the team are correct. Jermaine Dye, Paul Konerko, Shingo are all concerns and people we will desperately need when we start facing the Dodgers, Red Sox, Yanks, Angles, etc. I love what has happened this year, but we all keep saying the hitting will come around when it gets warmer. Two series in domes would dictate it's time for our guys to start right now.
  23. Well our Aprils killed us 2 and 3 years ago. How many times did I have to hear Jerry Manual say it was still early? Wehn you are 4+ games out early, you then don't have to just win series, you need to sweep series and the Sox never could do that. When we would play the Twins only 3 out, we would always say, "well is we sweep, we'll be tied." We never did sweep. So even if you win 2-of-3, your still 2 games out. I am scared as all the Sox are going to go into a 10 game funk, but I am happy as can be right now. I can't wait until the Baltimore series when I will be at two games.
  24. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:58 AM) Are you kidding me??? I thought they did a damn good job. They came around a bit at the end, but I was bored with them. JMO! I guess if I think the Pope is boring, Robin Ventura doing a game in Tampa will make me comatose.
